I hope the person who suggested I try Korean sunscreens reads this: THANK YOU! For years, I'd tried almost every face sunscreen out there (In the US) and they ALL created deep cystic acne for me, within 2 weeks of starting daily use. So I could never wear a daily SPF like we should. Well! I kept sharing that in the comments here, hoping for some recommendations to try. Someone a few videos ago suggested I try a Korean brand. I tried the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily SPF. It's 50 SPF and PA++++. It's been about 3 weeks and fingers crossed, no acne yet! Wanted to share this in case others are in the same boat -- all US sunscreens cause acne for them. Try a Korean one, maybe it will work for you! Cheers!
So true! I have oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin and I'm living in extremely hot and humid climate! I've been using a certified Korean sunscreen named "Goodal heartleaf calming moisture sun cream" and I got no acne from this sunscreen! Also, I always remove my sunscreen with double cleansing as soon as possible.
I don`t trust Asian sunscreens protection, I`ve heard a lot of stories of people in high altitude getting burned I also use Haru Haru Woner but I wish I could find a good one in europe..
Yay! Glad you also found a sunscreen that works for you. I have normal to dry skin and I'm not at all acne-prone so it was super-frustrating to ONLY get acne from sunscreen. No acne until I would try a daily face sunscreen and then like clockwork, within 2 weeks, the deep painful pimples would start to come up. Every.time! @@laibanush5431
BONDI SANDS IS AMAZING!!!! I found this in Ireland last year and it is clear for my dark skin, is cosmetically elegant, does doesnt pill up with my azaelic acid. Also used it for a month in Costa Rica in the tropical heat and it held up wonderfully. I'm oily and acne prone too and this has been my favourite sunscreen ive ever used. Lastly, you get SO MUCH, so for those who apply sunscreen daily you will find this an amazing use of your money.
Last week I started using Bondi Sands (the big body tube) on my face and YAY. Its moisturizing water-resistence is Excellent in cold windy winter freezing air (shoveling snow) AND in super dry indoor heat 😎

I have been searching for the perfect sunscreen forever. I finally found Neutrogena Ultra Sheer moisturizing face serum 60+. Fragrance Free. I wear it every day! Rain or shine! Please never discontinue! Love this product!
I am a big fan of Bondi Sands. I took it with me on my beach vacation where I was 5 degrees away from the Equator and IT WORKS. I do find a slight difference in the Face version versus the Body in how it feels on the skin--the Body version goes on more like a lotion. But they both work well and leave no white cast on my brown skin. It's shiny, but it's really comfortable to wear, even when you are literally sweating your face off like I usually am.
Thanks Dray. All of the Neutrogena products I have tried burns my eyes to include the 60 sp you showed here. I prefer the Eucercin 50 sph. That just me though.
In Australia I can’t speak highly enough of the Cancer Council range especially when it is on special in Discount Chemist. The Hyaluronic Acid SPF50 is so good and there is a big range of tinted and non tinted. Also all the profits all go to cancer research. PS -also love BoJ SPF50 Just luxurious
The best affordable sunscreen Ive tried is Sun Basics from the Dollar Tree. It comes in 3oz or 4oz depending on the store. Has a really nice dry down. There is fragrance in it, but that hasn’t been an issue for me.
Face sunscreens are smaller than body sunscreens because they're designed to cover a smaller area of skin. Face sunscreens are also more expensive than body sunscreens, and often contain skin-beneficial and anti-aging ingredient
I've tried the Banana Boat and Bondi Sands ones and enjoyed both. Thanks for the affordable sunscreen recommendations. I'm all for using sunscreen but I don't want to spend a ridiculous price for them. Happy Friday, Dr Dray! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a lovely weekend. 💜
You are the best Dr. Dray! My husband has a medium skin tone & gets a white cast from many of the sunscreens I bring home. I'll pick from this list! Thank you!!
I'm always on the search for affordable sunscreens, especially when its Dr. Dray approved. I found the Eucerin, Daily Protection Face Lotion SPF 30 to be a current favorite.
That Banana Boat sunscreen is incredible!! 🙌🏻 I was nervous to try it because of the coconut oil, but I'm so glad I did. It's such a smooth, comfortable formula, nicely hydrating, and it actually makes my makeup sit better on my face. I absolutely love it! 👌🏻

Funny thing about LaRoche Posay is that I can get the European version (with the better ingredients than those available here) online and have it shipped across the pond cheaper than I can buy it in the Walgreens up the street. It's been my go-to sunscreen for summer days in the pool for years now.
Hey Dr Dray 👋🏾 nice list. My favorite seems to be the Bondi Sands cause the size is reasonable although the prices keeps getting higher in my country. Thank you for always dropping gems, do have a wonderful day.

I Iove the Black Girl Sunscreen Kids for my face, mainly during the fall and winter months as I have an oily t-zone. (During the spring and summer I use Super Goop unseen sunscreen.) I also have the original Black Girl Sunscreen moisturizing sunscreen lotion for face and body SPF 30, but I prefer to put that one on my body more than my face.
After I started using extra virgin coconut oil a couple times a week to treat my hair I started breaking out all over my scalp, along my hairline, on the ears, behind the ears, on the neck. It was really bad. I'm scared of it now.

Hi , I love your channel and your very sincere approach to dermatology products. Do you have any concerns with Elf being made in China? I have heard that there have been issues of contaminants being found in some of the cosmetics made in China . I would love your thoughts. Thanks
I agree there’s no ingredient out there that 100% breaks out every acne prone skin, we all individually have our personal clogging triggers that we have to avoid. Bondi Sands have launched a Tinted Fragrance Free Face Sunscreen here in Australia, same cosmetically elegant product BUT not water water resistant, good tint and perfect for daily wear.
Looove the ELF(not tinted). It feels so good going on, not greasy. Stings my eyes a little but I just add ELF putty primer on top and it doesn't budge.
Question, please. I am an actor and will be spending the better part of two days in high desert of central Oregon shooting scenes for a film. What sunscreen would you recommend that would be protective enough that it won't appear on camera and won't interfere with movie makeup? Thanks!
Happy Friday you all! This video reminds me of the very very first time I used sunscreen, it was from Coppertone, I got it in Walmart. It was similar to the Black Girl one, probably repackaged or discontinued now. Then I started doing some research and that’s when I found Dr Dray’s channel. And that’s the story of how I fell in love with using Sunscreen every day, and rest is history 🙂 Btw, I did like Bondi Sands too, I used it on my body, very affordable option. All thanks to Dr Dray!❤ Edit: It was the Coppertone Oil free face 50 SPF
the sunless tanners don't irritate my face, but they do fill all the pores I find and leave my face looking muddy or dirty rather than tanned so I opt to just use some kind of skin tint or tinted moisturizer/sunscreen when I want some additional color
I’ve taken your advice on the Black Girl Kids Sunscreen. I find it does have a slight sunscreen scent, but otherwise a great formula for face and body for the price!
Can't thank you enough for this video.Sunscreen should not cost an arm and thanks for acommodating people like me who don't make as much to spend so much on a recurring expense
Can you please review Isdin sunscreens? They are far from affordable but best I’ve ever used. Love the elegant emulsion that sinks right into the skin. Hoping I’m getting my money’s worth! Thank you so much!!
I haven't tried any of them but currently i finished the LRP anthelios spf 50+ moisturizing lotion fragrance free kids one and it was super moisturizing and on sale too. Now I'm using the rilastil sun system con pro-dna complex kds velvet lotion 200 ml fragrance free 16 euros and it works well (it's only the beginning so time will tell). I liked the video it's super fun and each sunscreen you choose worth every sec 😊❤.
One ingredient that she fails to mention about the Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense Face Serum SPF 60+ is 'Menthyl Lactate'. This is basically menthol, and gives products a cooling sensation when applied. It is also a fragrance ingredient. A major drawback to have this in a sunscreen.. How she claims to have no burning or irritation when applied around the eyes is insane.
Man I want to love these Neutrogena options because the texture is amazing on both of them, but I haven't met a Neutrogena sunscreen that doesn't burn my eyes like crazy. Sad times.
Same! Wanted to love them. That ultra sheer serum burned my eyes so badly, even when I didn’t put it near them. Probably one of the worst eye stings of any sunscreen I’ve tried
Please do more makeup tutorials! I just wish it was slower and explaining more because it was too fast for me lol. I want to see how you do your brows too! They’re perfect!
I now find using any Chemical filtered spf regardless of how "soothing" the ingredients are/ no fragrance or alcohol, my skin still irritates and goes red flushed. I think I'm more sensitized due to using the likes of glycolic etc, however I generally believe my skin just dislikes chemical filters. My go to is Aqua Skin Milk " blue bottle" although it's now doubled in price on Amazon UK. Any new recommendations of a low white cast would be helpful. Thanks Guys
HELLO, could you please consider making a skincare routine for teenegers/youngadults with products from Target or walmart. I love your content, but sometimes Im not sure what's best for my skin ❤
I never get tired of your sunscreen videos! Riemann P20 sensitive is my favorite one. I use their "body" version on my face to save a few bucks. They seem to have released two new series ("Urban shield" and "hyperpigmentation defense") which haven't been published on their website yet. I know you've mentioned both P20 and Evy before regarding their "long-lasting" claim and how it doesn't translate to real life use (which is true). However, I really do think it lasts *longer* than your typical sunscreen even if it isn't 10 hours. It works wonderful on dry skin since it's very hydrating. Would love to hear your thought on this brand more in detail. I would like to know if the new series are bogus or not. P20 seem to have gotten more popular here in Europe lately.
Happy Friday! This time of year, as an accountant is a stressful time for me. Once again, I am dealing with hair thinning. I have been looking to your videos for tips and you mentioned that it is best to comb hair when it is dry vs wet. However, I find that my hair is too tangled when I let it dry first. Please help provide a demo of how to manage hair when it is wet. I appreciate all your tips very much!
It looks like your hair is wavy/curly like mine. I finger-comb it in the shower, then with a wide tooth comb afterwards when still wet. I use a small amount of leave-in conditioner and gel, and wash 2-3 times a week. It stays tangle free between washings.
I need a new SPF. I’m currently using one I’ve only been able to buy online. Plus, my eyes seem to be ridiculously susceptible to stinging and watering when using organic sunscreen. Very frustrating. Happy Friday, Dr. Dray. I appreciate you and that you share your knowledge with all of us ☺️
Im unable to tolerate any US chemical sunscreens- is anyone else like this however you can tolerate certain Korean chemical sunscreen- if so, which ones?
Thank you for this list. Your description of the products, and the price of each, will give me some new ones to try. One question. Did you have trouble with burning or stinging around the eyes with any of these? That is my major problem with many sunscreens.
My experience is that I’ve had no burning of my eyes with the Black Girl for Kids nor the Banana Boat + Vitamins. And I definitely put it close to my eyes and on my eyelids. Just my experience, of course.
I generally have no stinging with Asian sunscreens, though most of the US ones burn. However, I've been somewhat lucky with Bondi Sands--it stings sometimes, but not nearly as badly as others.
As a hiker, often in BEAR country, the last thing I want is scented stuff on my face😂. I would also prefer just minerals with the bare minimum of inactive ingredients (needed for what exactly??). I have been known to use diaper rash cream, Honest company has a good zinc oxyde one (for babies, at WMT).
These are helpful videos, many of us simply can't afford expensive products. Thanks, Dr Dray! Can you please do more videos on telegen effluvium after COVID?
Dear Dr. Dray, please recommend tinted mineral sunscreens for people with sensitive skin who can not use organic sunscreen. Especially high SPF sunscreens please. Thank you.
Dr Dray reviewed the Eucerin Sensitive Mineral Face Tinted Sunscreen SPF 35. She's reviewed Colorescience Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50. Elta MD has tinted sunscreens that are supposedly good for sensitive skin that Dr Dray has reviewed. Their UV Elements and UV Glow are tinted and their UV Restore also has a tinted one. Australian Gold has tinted mineral sunscreens. Dr Dray wasn't necessarily a fan because of the kakadu plum (I believe she had a reaction to it) but other derms are fans of it.
As always thank you for the analysis of affordable and effective sunscreens. It is so important that these products are available for us to use daily. Have a lovely day, Dr Dray! 💐
Dr. Dray, I love when do show these videos. Banana Boat Face is my go to as well as the up&up lip balm spf, ty. However, for my body, the up&up spf! Bondi, no way, sorry.
Hi Dr.Dray I was wondering what your opinion is on the cerav hydrating mineral sunscreen 50 with zinc oxide, titanium, hyaluronic and niacinamide? Thank you
Hi Dr. Dray! I was just wondering, if I didn’t need to stay in this price point, would you recommend the DRMTLGY tinted one that I’ve seen you recommend before or would you go with La Roche Posay which you also recommend a lot? Thank you so much!
I really wish face sunscreen/body sunscreen came in larger containers and wasn’t so expensive. I’m a blond pale gal, I need a lot of sunscreen. I go through so much. If you use the amount you are suppose to it never lasts long especially if you reapply multiple times a day.
I had an allergic reaction to the Trader Joe's one and ended up with a ton of tiny whiteheads on my chin. If anyone else experienced the same reaction, do you know which ingredient(s) caused it? I haven't figured it out and want to know what I should avoid in the future.

And that’s the story of how I fell in love with using Sunscreen every day, and rest is history 🙂 Btw, I did like Bondi Sands too, I used it on my body, very affordable option. All thanks to Dr Dray!❤
Edit: It was the Coppertone Oil free face 50 SPF
I love that Coppertone for the face too!
Verdio pump costs less than $15 where I live❤ such a good value!
the sunless tanners don't irritate my face, but they do fill all the pores I find and leave my face looking muddy or dirty rather than tanned so I opt to just use some kind of skin tint or tinted moisturizer/sunscreen when I want some additional color
I’ve taken your advice on the Black Girl Kids Sunscreen. I find it does have a slight sunscreen scent, but otherwise a great formula for face and body for the price!
I actually love the sunscreen smell of the Black Girl Kids sunscreen LOL. I find this one turns ever-so-subtly yellow on my face throughout the day.
Black Girl Sunscreen Kids is 🤌🏾✨ It scared me at first. I didnt think it would melt into my skin but I did! Now i buy the big bottle every time😂
Can't thank you enough for this video.Sunscreen should not cost an arm and thanks for acommodating people like me who don't make as much to spend so much on a recurring expense
0:12 this sunscreen is amazing. No cast for me! No burning eyes.
Unfortunately not available in 🇨🇦
LOVE the the Trader Joe's facial sunscreen. Hard to get to a TJ so listening for a secondary option.
Can you please review Isdin sunscreens? They are far from affordable but best I’ve ever used. Love the elegant emulsion that sinks right into the skin. Hoping I’m getting my money’s worth! Thank you so much!!
I am from Panamá and I haven't found one sunscreen that doesn't make me sweat like crazy, they all make me look like an empanada in a fonda !!
Have you tried Black Girl MAKE IT MATTE 45 ? It doesn’t shine and has no white cast 😎
@@ahnjahwasabi2839 I haven't but I will thanks so much !!
Agree, I had to pull off the freeway the first (and last!) time I tried this.
Interesting.
What I don't like about sunscreens with Avobenzone is that it "yellows" your white shirts.
Some neutrogena were placed as dangerous re benzene I'd ck ur ingredients
Thanks Guys
Which UV filter blocks out the most UVA? Is the gold standard still Avobenzone?
Thank you Dr Dray.i appreciate this video. I am with you on the fragrance free.
You are so welcome!
@@DrDrayzday Accutane and Finasteride are destroying so many lives.
Consumer Reports evaluates sunscreens every year. Their top pick was coppertone water babies.
Greetings Theresa Berg hope u r well n Happy Friday😀👍💜….
Thank you and Happy Friday to you too!@@whitneybrown4067
Try wide tooth comb w light weight leave in conditioner
It looks like your hair is wavy/curly like mine. I finger-comb it in the shower, then with a wide tooth comb afterwards when still wet. I use a small amount of leave-in conditioner and gel, and wash 2-3 times a week. It stays tangle free between washings.
Thank you, yes, my hair is wavy/curly so I follow a similar process. So kind of you to share with me❤ @@krisbarry4950
Hi Dr Dray! I made a list of your favorite sunscreens. I’ve been using La Rache Posey, but need to repurchase a new one soon. Thank you ❤
Have you checked out the Paula's Choice 6% mandelic acid + 2% lactic acid liquid exfoliant?
i havent
Greetings d b hope u r well n Happy Friday😀👍💜….
i loved the bondi sands but it stung my eyes!!!!
I need a new SPF. I’m currently using one I’ve only been able to buy online. Plus, my eyes seem to be ridiculously susceptible to stinging and watering when using organic sunscreen. Very frustrating.
Happy Friday, Dr. Dray. I appreciate you and that you share your knowledge with all of us ☺️
What about Cerave am moisturizing sunscreen. All I use.
Dr, I thank you for your service. May I please request you to make a video for affordable sunscreens in Europe?
Dr.Dray can you do an updated video on PMLE and the best sunscreens to use!
As soon as I get done with what I’m using I’m going to try one of these. TFS & have a great weekend
Im unable to tolerate any US chemical sunscreens- is anyone else like this however you can tolerate certain Korean chemical sunscreen- if so, which ones?
Excellent teaching again Dr. Dray. Also I am loving the Some by Mi V10 HYAL 50++++ sunscreen. It’s fabulous.
Thank you for this list. Your description of the products, and the price of each, will give me some new ones to try. One question. Did you have trouble with burning or stinging around the eyes with any of these? That is my major problem with many sunscreens.
Oh gosh, the stinging is the worst... I have such a hard time finding sunscreens that don't. 😢
My experience is that I’ve had no burning of my eyes with the Black Girl for Kids nor the Banana Boat + Vitamins. And I definitely put it close to my eyes and on my eyelids. Just my experience, of course.
The Kroger Shimmer sunscreen is so irritating to my eyes. I couldn't stop blinking & my eyes watered. I had to wash it off.
I generally have no stinging with Asian sunscreens, though most of the US ones burn. However, I've been somewhat lucky with Bondi Sands--it stings sometimes, but not nearly as badly as others.
Unfortunately I went to the dermatologist to have a spot looked at and it is skin cancer. Thankfully it’s not melanoma.
Banana Boat is infamous here in Australia for not meeting their claims
Hi Dr Dray. Is the Banana Boat good under makeup? Thanks
yes 👍
Do you use moisturizer first before sunscreen or just all in one?
Sunscreen always goes last
I really wish face sunscreen/body sunscreen came in larger containers and wasn’t so expensive. I’m a blond pale gal, I need a lot of sunscreen. I go through so much. If you use the amount you are suppose to it never lasts long especially if you reapply multiple times a day.
How do you know if you're sensitive to niacidamide???? What happens?
What do you think about Beauty of Josean?
I had an allergic reaction to the Trader Joe's one and ended up with a ton of tiny whiteheads on my chin. If anyone else experienced the same reaction, do you know which ingredient(s) caused it? I haven't figured it out and want to know what I should avoid in the future.
I neeeeeeeeeeed a sport sunscreen that doesn't burn MY EYES!! any recommendations for mineral sport sunscreens
Life saver! Thank you so much Dr. Dray. 😊
Happy Friday ❤ Thanks for the nonstop knowledgeable information!
thanks for watching
