I was skeptical towards his methods, but now I appreciate that he does all these experiments on himself and also shares the results. Like Dr. Dray said, it is extremely hard to find legit studies for cosmetics so even though what he does is only testing on himself, it's still valuable to get the results (and of course take it with the grain of salt as everything else 🙂).

I am 52, been into skin care since my teens. How my skin survived the days of Noxema and Seabreeze, I will never know, LOL. But that was the thing back then, cleaned with Noxema or Seabreeze and followed it with basic Oil of Olay. Sunbathed with Baby oil in the south 😳 (I know, I know). I sometimes feel skincare has become almost a fad or trend and complicated. I just desire good skin, that not only looks and feels healthy, but truly is healthy, from head to toe. I desire healthy 52 year old skin, not 20 year old looking skin. I embrace my fine lines and wrinkles and new gray hairs. My "favorite" thing to hear is "you look so young, your skin looks so good FOR YOUR AGE". (Let me pull out my walker, lol). My skin care routine is simple. I will admit, I do look young, but I have always looked young for my age. I think sometimes people forget about genetics. My dad is 82 but looks 62. NO lie. I am all for taking care of our skin, but skincare routines seem to have become so complicated, full of products and devices. Its almost confusing and overwhelming and concerning sometimes. I guess this is my long winded way of saying THANK YOU, for your transparency and science based information. I always come to your channel for honesty.❤
I like that he’s trying these things. I don’t have the resources, motivation, or patience to conduct a protocol like this one -it is steady, controlled, and takes a lot of commitment and effort- so I am very happy that this information is made available on the web.

Bryan Johnson does this as a human laboratory rat essentially. if you watch his channel, you will see that he has a strong understanding that this is not something that the general public would do. It’s trial and error to see what works and what doesn’t. He just uses his own body to work the trials. It actually takes a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication in his life. He never imposes his beliefs on anyone he just shares them and if you take something away, then it’s great and if you don’t, it’s still always interesting to see what he’s up to. At least it is for me. I’ve actually picked up some really good health education from watching his channel.
When he does that throwback of before he gained back some facial volume… woah. I see a difference now… he looks healthier for sure. Younger? Idk, but definitely more of a more normal looking mid 40 year old.
Celluma is wonderful. I’m an aesthetician and I use their panel almost every day in my treatment. Even with only 15-30 mins of use, any inflammation on my client’s skin is greatly reduced. Skin brightened. I also used my panel to reduce bruising and inflammation immediately after a lower bleph surgery. I had almost no bruising at all. Even the nurse at my daily post care appts were surprised . Red light works. But often the main problem at home is: people are not consistent with use , and expectations are unrealistic as they really don’t understand what is possible and what is not.
I have Omnilux and use it almost every night and I immediately notice that my skin is a lot more even and softer in the morning compared to when I don’t use it the night before.
Yes extreme for the average person who doesn’t have access, time or $$ for these devices, but loved Dr Drays positive reaction to the things that we can and should do! Thanks Dr Dray!
Interesting, just watched that video yesterday and now I‘m excited to see your reaction to it! I feel like this was the first video where Bryan Johnson actually looks really healthy and it feels like what he is spending all that money on is finally working to change his appearance.
Although I fully support his project I don't think he looks more like an 18 year old compared to a few years ago. He still looks the same to me. There's only so much you can do to REVERT aging. Prevention is key in my opinion!
Yes, he’s mentioned in an interview that he has done major damage in his youth that he is motivated sure can ever be reversed. He’s essentially using himself as a guinea pig for science.
I have been following this fellow for a bit now. He has strong team of MDs behind his studies. He is monitoring every organ he has...his sleep cycle ..etc.Very informative information...Will be interesting to see his the long term effects. He has a very structured ridge life..not for everyone. But am glad someone is doing it
He is definitely a trendsetter for us. Luckily he has been he money, desire and discipline to do this. Most people can’t even make it to the gym I’ve a week but yet criticize!!!
I honestly believe it all comes down to our genes. I use all the trendy creams/Spf/LED mask/IPL (you name it)and I don't see myself aging ANY better than people my age. While my mother-in-law, soon 77, she's never used any sun protection (we live in Spain) she swears by this one cream she's been using for 15 years (believe me: nothing special) and she looks AMAZING! Her son, my partner, is exactly Bryan's age and he really looks thirtish...needless to say he doesn't do ANYTHING, I sometimes force him to wear a suncream when it's hot. So...if you have good genes, you don't even have to do that much. The rest of us...we can only try to age as gracefully as we can. That's why I am very sceptical about all these influencers who swear by their routines: they may just have great genes. ❤
You're absolutely right. On my mom's side of the family the women all look 20 years younger than their actual age; my mom, aunts, nan, etc. My dad's side, they age "normally". I have 2 sisters, elder and younger, and we are all in our early 40s. They both take on my dad's side and look their age. (Fortunately 😅) I take on my mom's side and I'm told all the time I look like I'm mid 20s. Genes definitely play a big factor in all of this. It's either that or you're getting some procedures or treatments done.
Your mother-in-law doesn't stress about aging as much. All these trendy followings keep you in the fear of aging. Stress and fear will make you look old no matter the trendy potions you put on your face or in your body. Happiness and living in the moment will keep you young.
Interesting what people will do.. as a double lung transplant patient 6/17/2015.. I do not recommend ANYONE take medications that are for immunosuppression that ARE for a transplant patient.. These are harsh on the body and you never know what these are doing to you.. SMH!!
Jennifer Myers is achieving what he's trying to do through simple persistent habits. She's fascinating and shares super easy to follow advice which she's followed for 20+ years.
But Bryan hasn't been doing this or any healthy routine for himself in the last 20 years he done the opposite and he is trying to reverse damage. Totally different thing
Blueprint is so interesting! And I love Bryan’s attitude. He’s sharing everything he does, all the data and he doesn’t expect or think that people should do everything he’s doing. He’s treating his body as a science experiment and he’s said that he’s trying to invite competition. He wants people to disprove him and to start a conversation/development in this field. He’s very intelligent and addresses every aspect of his life to promote longevity. Would recommend all his videos to everyone if you want to change your approach to health 🙂
Same, but when they showed what he looked like a few years ago, I finally recognized him and he does look significantly younger from then. But I still have no idea who he is. I recognize his face, but that's it.
i’m so happy to watch your reaction to Brian’s skincare video! I think it’s interesting to watch his routine because he is measuring results and basically experimenting
He reminds me of the Life Extension/anti-aging duo in the 70's/80's Dirk Pearson snd Sandy Shaw. They took a lot of supplements and HGH then, I don't follow them so I am not sure if this pathway ever benefitted them. I remember thinking that they never looked healthy to me.
It's crazy how rich people can get doctors to prescribe anything. Before online dermatology providers like Curology or Musely, lots of people had a hard time getting doctors to even prescribe tretinoin for cosmetic reasons, and he's taking all these different drugs for no real reason.
I still cant get tretinoin prescribed in my country (my country is still stuck in stone age in a lot of things). Tretinoin here is prescribed only for severe acne but Im not getting prescription for it if I want it for antiaging.
I understand he’s doing everything to stay young. his high maintenance routine however, is not realistic and doable for regular folks. He seems like he’s colored his hair dark to look younger too. (His pictures when he was little and a young man show he was blonde) good for him for going the distance to look young. He has the means and the resources to do so.
Thank you for humanizing this man. I've seen his interviews in passing and have been pretty judgmental. He's actually a role model for us all in many ways with some pretty decent and free advice for those of us who don't own a clinic ourselves. Also, the fact that he made a joke about a vampire proves that he isn't a robot after all. Shame on me. He seems like a very intelligent, man dedicating his body to science prior to his death unlike those of us who wait until we no longer need our bodies prior to offering it up to the local medical school.
I was put on Accutane as a teen and although it completely cleared up my acne for life, it also completely changed my skin and hair still almost 30 yrs later. My lips and eyes have been dry as a dessert ever since and my skin is chronically dry no matter how much I moisturize. My hair thinned out too and had never thickened back.
If he softened his hair color, and lightened it up to a strawberry blond (since he's obviously a redhead) it would instantly make him look more youthful. Personally I think guys with salt and pepper, or silvery white hair looks amazing. It's the severity in contrast between skin tone, and the black or dark opaque hair dye that visually tends to age someone, or makes them look uncanny somehow. It feels or seems like he has a very real fear of dying one day. Hence his obsession with trying to "live forever." It's that psychological aspect of the natural process of death and rebirth that I believe he would see the most amazing benefits from, if he stops worrying about something that has to happen many years in the future. Because the cumulative affects of cortisol and other stressors that the body can be flooded with when in a constant state of fear or high alert is like setting his system on FF.
I actually kind of appreciate what he's doing because he's offering himself up, at an extreme, to the benefit of human knowledge. They're running some very intense tests on him and have actually been learning a lot more than they would have by normal test standards on large groups. It's absurd, but hey...some of us are put on this Earth for a mission. This must be his.
well he looks great. all this effort to live longer and look younger puts lot of anxiety though imo.. but thumbs up for this guy. definitely his face looks better compared to the past footage
I admit i was super sceptical. BUT. I appreciate that he doesn't hype his treatments and seems like scientific and careful with them. I probably won't be trying majority of those things, mostly because i don't have his resources, but i appreciate his contribution to science. Good luck to him.
Never heard of this guy. Pretty intense skin care routine but to each their own. Do whatever works for you and makes you happy. I appreciate your thoughts on this, Dr Dray. Happy Thursday! Hope you have a tranquil evening. 💜
So interesting. I just love you Dr. Dray, you have such a wonderful, logical, realistic viewpoint on everything. I also invested on UVA blocking film for my windows AND tinted windows in my car for myself, hubby, and our kids!
Seems like he's pretty much always going to look the same age. All his results are going to be invisible things like telomeres and DNA methylation genetic age tests and things like that. Which, idk if I really trust the accuracy and reliability of those things or not. Maybe what he's doing only makes it seem like he's younger according to those testing parameters but in reality it doesn't do much. Idk
Maybe unpopular opinion, but I’m not mad at what he’s doing. He has money to actually measure what his routines may yield, something is average folk don’t have access to, but do in our way. We use products, assess its efficacy, keep or move on. The IPL was the only thing I was meh on.
@@noname-nu6ooyes but he’s a scientific experiment, it’s expected that he is to going to look younger as expected. Most of his organs are dramatically younger with some even ranging to the health of an 18 year old.
I love Volufiline. I use it after a series of heat treatments such as rf, laser or red light. It holds it's volume for me until I do another heat series. Then I just do it again. However, it can also be used in conjunction with a warm device. Such as right after a red light treatment. The warmth actually makes it work better. I've been using it for years after these treatments. I use it until I get the desired results and then I'm good to go. I also don't use red light every single day. I do a series and then let my skin rest. I'm 52 and never had fillers. Another product I've used that I absolutely swear by for similar results is Caviplla. These have been a huge save for me after any treatments that might shrink my fat cells.
I’m not sure how I feel, seems like he is a bit obsessed with the whole thing. It also seems like an awful lot to keep up with but I guess to each his own. Thanks for giving your opinion. 🥰
If nothing else then at least I hope he will convince people to wear sunscreen. I tend to think that people are reasonable on this subject and then I meet someone out of my circle and it turns out that they think sunscreen is poison 😭
My mom turns 79 in February. She looks 60. I am 55. I routinely get told I look 40. All I’ve ever done is moisturize. It’s genetics. You can do all the things, but if your genetics don’t line up, it will make little difference.
What people does not think about is that Bryan do this for a living, for normal people who have work,a love one and small children and hobbies, we could NEVER do all this unless we have the money, team etc. To me it feels like a freaky boring life to chase the youth , we all will die sooner or later, and what did we accomplished? A younger appearance? WOW; something to be proud of
You can see that Bryan Johnson has been using Tretinoin 0.1% for the last year or so. He published all he does for his skin (and body) on his website. That website contains more complete information than what was shown in this video by him
He looks his age and as someone close to his age, could tell away his age range. He isn't looking that much younger than his actual age. People make the fallacy of comparing 50-somethings who look a bit younger to the worst possible examples of the opposite example and as a result, they then seem to appear "younger".
I do like the information that Bryan is sharing and I've adoped some of these cheap and less invasive methods (Cetaphil, power to the People cleanser, red light therapy), while being conservative of others. I don't take oral tretinoin, but use the topical and have for years and at 54, my facial and neck skin is as healthy as I can make it and I am told I coukd pass for my 30's. I am using Adapeau, but not sure if I will continue. Thank you for your channel Dr. Dray, I listen to you regularly and am a subscriber.
The problem with the global anti aging protocol of this guy is that it has extremely contradictory effects. For example he applies calorie restriction to increase life span but loosing too much weight and fat creates wrinkles on the face and lower the testosterone level which has aging effects. Same thing with medication that are supposed to be anti aging but are inflammatory to the skin. Etc…. At the end he is in good shape because he does weight training everyday but he looks his age.
I agree, too little fat on the body will make the facial skin have more wrinkles. We're losing fat from the face as we age anyway, let alone with extremely low body fat.
@@eileengreenspan730 I should have been more clear- I mean Bryan Johnson- not our Dr. Dray- I adore her and watch every single video and wish she could reach everyone who is looking into skin care. She is the reason people think I am in my 50s instead of being 70.

Completely agree with original comment. Also love how people keep on pushing the "research" narrative. That's not how scientific knowledge is made. This "study" has 0 validity.
@@missioncodezas an actual scientist i can tell you this is not even close to being "research". he is a random singular person paying people to entertain him with generating numbers. if he actually cared, he could spend all this money on donating to real research on a larger scale that actually has promise and would help treat diseases etc.
i'm not convinced with rf treatments yet. a few people i follow have updated over the last year or so and said that they regret doing rf because now they look older and more gaunt from volume loss on the face. im glad he's doing these experiments bc i do think so many of this stuff is too new to know what it will do in the long run. but yeah, i stay away from microcurrent and rf bc i don't wanna age myself even more. i have a natural chubby face and i'm just trying to keep as much volume as i age.
Glad he has some good advise, but most don’t have the time & $ to spend on his routine. Hope he makes time for family , friends and enjoys all the beauty of nature, which does a lot for one’s over all well being. It would go along way in staying young at heart! ❤
If you see him prior to Blue print and two years in his skin does look significantly younger and healthier than before. Like Bryan, I'm prone to hollowibg with time, and loss of fat and collagen do make you look older even if skin itself is healthy and firm. I've had to use a conservative amount of fillers to augment the hollows that do make you look older. He lost 60 or more pounds from a couple of years ago and that does contribute to the appearance of aging.

Like Dr. Dray said, it is extremely hard to find legit studies for cosmetics so even though what he does is only testing on himself, it's still valuable to get the results (and of course take it with the grain of salt as everything else 🙂).
The issue with Bryan Johnson is that he's been trying to sell his "secrets". He has courses and books about it
@@sumlem Yes totally, I got his book and it told me to buy a $10,000 device that's usually only found in a dermatologist's office, so I bought it and tried it and now I'm disfigured for life. He can't keep getting away with it!
I love your honesty and how science based your opinions and advice is. Thanks for your transparency Dr. Dray
Sometimes she is but sometimes she just reads studies uncritically and doesn’t look past things like mechanism of action, funding source, sources of bias etc
Me too. Same age, same products. And the worst, baby oil in the sun.
I'm 80..and I STILL swear by noxems.
@juliet9385 you must have an olive skin tone too. I have to watch for hyperpigmentation.
@juliet9385 maybe we should ditch all this beauty stuff and go back to baby oil and iodine...how I remember those halcyon days
@juliet9385 post a pic so we can see for ourselves that you actually look young for your age with all the damage you've done to it.
I like that he’s trying these things. I don’t have the resources, motivation, or patience to conduct a protocol like this one -it is steady, controlled, and takes a lot of commitment and effort- so I am very happy that this information is made available on the web.
I took Accutane in my late 20's and 30's. My skin is now very dry. I had adult cystic acne. I did not have acne as a teen. Now I use rose oil in addition to moisturizer/sunscreen. I also have autoimmune disorders. This guy is way out there.
He microcodes which is what your supposed to do in the first place. Your old ass just took it when no one knew how to dose it right. I microdose as well and get phenomenal benefits with no dryness
@@TrayvonJones952 you didn't mention your autoimmune disorders. That plays a huge role as well. Educate yourself before posting comments like this. Im a psychologist and I know a good bit about the medication, the anatomy, effect and interactions. My a$$ is in fantastic shape as the rest of my body. You are probably 400 lbs'living in your parents basement and making snarking commentsbmake you feel better about your inadequacies. Im certain my attitude is significantly kinder and more positive. I wouldn't dream of posting what you did. You could use some time learning how to behave as if you were human.
Seems there’s a connection with taking accutane and health issues as you get older? I also took it and have autoimmune now
Some 20-30 somethings out here looking like they’re in their 40s. He looks good
I also took it as a teen, autoimmune disorders now.
On a side note, this video just proves why I trust & enjoy the content/information Dr Dray puts out. Thankyou for all you do.
Finally youre covering this guy. I was so curious what youd say about this!
thanks for watching
This guy is too much even for scientists.
Thanks -- so nice to have your voice of reason & science rise above the anti-aging "noise"!
I was expecting a much crazier routine from this guy! Interested to hear more of what works / what doesn't.
But often the main problem at home is: people are not consistent with use , and expectations are unrealistic as they really don’t understand what is possible and what is not.
did you find it different to omnilux?
I have Omnilux and use it almost every night and I immediately notice that my skin is a lot more even and softer in the morning compared to when I don’t use it the night before.
Do we have to use it with closed covered eyes?
The Lumara panel is more powerful and does in 5 min what takes Celluma 45 min.
Yes extreme for the average person who doesn’t have access, time or $$ for these devices, but loved Dr Drays positive reaction to the things that we can and should do! Thanks Dr Dray!
Thanks for being an EXPERT voice of reason.

Takes time. But within, his organs have recovered and regenerated (at some point) for sure.
That’s because he lost facial fat. That’s the key to youthful face shape.
Yes, he’s mentioned in an interview that he has done major damage in his youth that he is motivated sure can ever be reversed. He’s essentially using himself as a guinea pig for science.
18 year no waaaay, my brother is 18 and it’s not even close.
Nah if you look at his vids from a year ago he looks ALOT younger. Obviously looking like an 18 year old at 46 is next to impossible
I have been following this fellow for a bit now. He has strong team of MDs behind his studies. He is monitoring every organ he has...his sleep cycle ..etc.Very informative information...Will be interesting to see his the long term effects. He has a very structured ridge life..not for everyone. Involving his 17 year old son is a bit yikes though
He is definitely a trendsetter for us. Luckily he has been he money, desire and discipline to do this. Most people can’t even make it to the gym I’ve a week but yet criticize!!!
He's 1 person. Research needs to be on a wider scale in order to determine anything. Someone else could have the complete opposite effect.
I always find myself hard to relate to people who take medication that’s supposed to be used for certain diseases or symptoms, for beauty purposes
@@mizbarehana5498 Lucky you!
This is precisely The Truth nobody wants people know.
Do you have proof is all about genes? If yes share the data.
SMH!!

I love Jennifer’s channel! Her videos inspired me to take care of my skin. 🧡
But Bryan hasn't been doing this or any healthy routine for himself in the last 20 years he done the opposite and he is trying to reverse damage. Totally different thing
Oh I love her videos! She deserves way more clout but I love that she's so mysterious
Yes, I love watching her!
So glad you covered him! I’ve been following his journey for a while now
Blueprint is so interesting!
He looks weird and unnatural. Plenty of men his age look younger without this ridiculous regiment.

this is definitely the scientific most skin care review you ever done, I enjoyed it 😃
This is the first I’ve heard of him, I do find what he’s attempting to do pretty interesting!
I really like this overview. His experience is interesting and I’m glad he’s sharing it.
I don't know who this person is, and this is the first time I've seen him, but he looks good playing the character of Vampire 🧛
It's crazy how rich people can get doctors to prescribe anything. Before online dermatology providers like Curology or Musely, lots of people had a hard time getting doctors to even prescribe tretinoin for cosmetic reasons, and he's taking all these different drugs for no real reason.
Crazy 😅
I still cant get tretinoin prescribed in my country (my country is still stuck in stone age in a lot of things). Tretinoin here is prescribed only for severe acne but Im not getting prescription for it if I want it for antiaging.

I understand he’s doing everything to stay young. his high maintenance routine however, is not realistic and doable for regular folks. He seems like he’s colored his hair dark to look younger too. (His pictures when he was little and a young man show he was blonde) good for him for going the distance to look young. He has the means and the resources to do so.
Yh,he dylyes his hair & eyebrows. The colors are awful for his skin tone 😅😅😅

I love Bryan. Thank you for covering this.
Yeah stop being so judgmental of ppl actually doing good for themselves lol. Never understood that vindictive mentality.
Your lighting's beautiful, Dr. D !! ✨
I love that he’s trying and sharing info .
Hence his obsession with trying to "live forever."
It's that psychological aspect of the natural process of death and rebirth that I believe he would see the most amazing benefits from, if he stops worrying about something that has to happen many years in the future.
Yeah I don't particularly like him but he has the means to contribute a lot to science this way.
I like his routine, simple and effective! love it that everyone is on the sunscreen and protect journey
well he looks great. all this effort to live longer and look younger puts lot of anxiety though imo.. but thumbs up for this guy. definitely his face looks better compared to the past footage
I admit i was super sceptical. BUT. I appreciate that he doesn't hype his treatments and seems like scientific and careful with them.
I probably won't be trying majority of those things, mostly because i don't have his resources, but i appreciate his contribution to science. Good luck to him.

I am still waiting for this guy to reverse his age as he has said many times. So far he looks like what he is: an in shape 40 something yo man

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I’m not mad at what he’s doing. He has money to actually measure what his routines may yield, something is average folk don’t have access to, but do in our way. We use products, assess its efficacy, keep or move on. The IPL was the only thing I was meh on.

WOW; something to be proud of
despite all the crazy gadgets he uses, yet he recommended a very basic skincare and of course a sunscreen!

Yeah he looks mid 40s
I agree, too little fat on the body will make the facial skin have more wrinkles. We're losing fat from the face as we age anyway, let alone with extremely low body fat.

That's the sad part....he's probably lived the life already😂😂😂
@@missioncodezas an actual scientist i can tell you this is not even close to being "research". he is a random singular person paying people to entertain him with generating numbers. if he actually cared, he could spend all this money on donating to real research on a larger scale that actually has promise and would help treat diseases etc.
He runs multiple companies, has written books, flies planes, and has kids. What the fuck do you do? Why are you so quick to judge others?
i'm not convinced with rf treatments yet. a few people i follow have updated over the last year or so and said that they regret doing rf because now they look older and more gaunt from volume loss on the face. im glad he's doing these experiments bc i do think so many of this stuff is too new to know what it will do in the long run. but yeah, i stay away from microcurrent and rf bc i don't wanna age myself even more. i have a natural chubby face and i'm just trying to keep as much volume as i age.
Glad he has some good advise, but most don’t have the time & $ to spend on his routine. Hope he makes time for family , friends and enjoys all the beauty of nature, which does a lot for one’s over all well being. It would go along way in staying young at heart! ❤
The thing is, despite all the things he does, he actually looks his age...maybe a little older.

I have been using the Omnilux Contour red light mask for about a month, every other day, and I have seen some improvement overall. I plan to continue the every other day 10 min treatment on my face for 4 months to see how much improvement I get.
I’m past anti aging. I need reversal! Any pointers?
I follow Bryan and I like what he is trying to accomplish. Thank you for reviewing his video and making informed comments!
