In this vocal competition of the Russian NTV channel for children with a difficult fate “You are super!” Diana won for the first time at age 14.
Last year, the channel announced the super season of the competition, she participated in it for the second time and won the Grand Prix.

I think she was 14 in this performance. She was raised in a orphanage. She was abused & wouldn’t speak till a later age. Singing was her escape. “Rechenka” which means “River” is a Russian folk song about a young girl about to be married but has no family to give her hand in marriage. She goes to the “River” a gateway to the realm of the deceased to ask for blessings from her ancestors. Love your reaction to Diana Ankudinova. Have you heard of Angelina Jordan? She’s another out of this world young singer who won a talent show in her country at 7 years old.

Diana was 15 when she sang "Wicked Game" on "You are Super." She sang "Rechenka" earlier, at the age of 14. "Rechenka" is her masterpiece, but it is so vocally and emotionally demanding that she still won't do it at her solo concerts (yet) although she says it is her most requested song.

Be very careful about listening to more Diana. I fell into that trap and now find it hard to listen to other vocalists. I'll bet I've listened to more Diana, more times, than any other artist in my record collection. Her voice never seems to get "hard" sounding, and she still gives me shivers.
(p.s. the last syllable of her name is more like "eva" than "ova". This can be heard in various videos where she is introduced.)

She is a real contralto, and is National treasure in Russia. Her story is tragic, but she came thru it, and now she will tour the world soon. Have you reacted to Angelina Jordan? She is incredible.
Angelina Jordan pushing herself hard to be contralto. But naturally she isn't. Her voice suddenly disappearing in very low contralto tabes. Angelina naturally mezzo- soprano/alto- in that range she was singing her jazz performances. And Angelina just very good vocal technician with good ear. But she is always like vocal chameleon- lack of her one color of voice, lack of vocal individuality.
In this video, Diana is 15 years old, Diana sings contralt but she can also do high notes, otherwise she sings in five languages
