Igor Kutoy , the judge you saw, has given Diana a flat in Moscow to further her voice training and to attend college once of age. She won this competition 2 consecutive years , this performance is in the second year. She sings in many different music genres including singing in her native Russian, French, Spanish, English and even some German. A true contralto voice type, add her stage presence, voice techniques, uniqueness, plus the love for performing and you have the total package. Just imagine 10 years from now how Diana will sound once she has fully matured and completes her training. After one of the performances on You Are Super, her voice coach from the show stated.... If you want to hear a real treat, maybe just for yourselves, listen to Yodel Time form when she was quite a bit younger. I wonder whether because she can yodel, she can have these overtones in her singing? And there is a recent song called "Cranes" which shows a very different part of her abilities. "Take On Me" and "Havana" are happy non-scary songs :) But "Rechenka" and "Human" are an absolute must, as is "Derniere Danse".

She has such a unique voice. A true contralto and still very young. Mesmerising and creepy at the same time. When I first heard her, it felt so weird. I'm still getting used to her voice, I get mixed feelings, but I think she's growing on me. Btw, our guy Igor pressed the button at the end in order not to interrupt the performance, the way people wait until the end with classical music. I guess she has common fans with Dimash because she Russian, and also because they can like and appreciate unordinary music.

She said class - in Russian it is the same. I reckon the word peculiarity is the wrong one to use. If you check other songs of hers you will find that modifications are not made. Yup, a live programme audition with no modifications allowed. She has done some recordings in isolation - havana, take on me and you will find that the voice is, essentially, as you hear it here. I reckon contralto is not peculiar - just rare. And yes she was only 15,

After her birth mother tried to drown her in the bathtub, she was thrown out into the streets in February at three years old. She had no vocabulary at three years of age. At the vocal contest of the Russian NTV channel for children with a difficult fate “You are super!” Diana won at age 14. She sang a fragment of this song there.
Last year, the channel announced the super season of the competition, she participated in it for the second time and won the Grand Prix.
Igor Krutoy is one of the jury members of this vocal competition.

He came out of retirement to compose songs for Dimash, so yes, you must be really talented to impress him. This show is called You Are Super and it's for orphans in Russia to give them a chance for a better life. Diana was abused by her mother as a child and at the age of 3 was put out into the bitter cold of Russia with a broken arm. She was taken in by relatives but eventually taken to an orphanage. A woman who worked at the orphanage noticed Diana and adopted her. Diana wasn't speaking and when she was taken to the Dr he told the woman who adopted Diana to take her to singing lessons. And the rest is history. Diana loves to sing and will sing just about anywhere for any size crowd.
By the way, Diana won this competition and Igor Krutoy provided her and her family an apartment in Moscow.

Rechenka which translates to River is an old Russian folk tale of an orphan girl who goes to the river in the woods and asks the spirits of the river and woods to bless her upcoming marriage. It's very haunting and many people have been moved to tears because it touches the soul.

She has such a unique voice. A true contralto and still very young. Mesmerising and creepy at the same time. When I first heard her, it felt so weird. I'm still getting used to her voice, I get mixed feelings, but I think she's growing on me.
Btw, our guy Igor pressed the button at the end in order not to interrupt the performance, the way people wait until the end with classical music.
I guess she has common fans with Dimash because she Russian,
and also because they can like and appreciate unordinary music.

She said class - in Russian it is the same. I reckon the word peculiarity is the wrong one to use. If you check other songs of hers you will find that modifications are not made. Yup, a live programme audition with no modifications allowed. She has done some recordings in isolation - havana, take on me and you will find that the voice is, essentially, as you hear it here. I reckon contralto is not peculiar - just rare. And yes she was only 15,

Wait till you hear her "Retchenka" on the same show. It's even more stunning. She's super talented and is almost following in the footsteps of Dimash. Even Igor Krutoy is impressed. The guy is probably the most successful producer ever (worth about $30 billion!). It must be a great moment for him to be alive to see these once in a lifetime singers go in front of him!
The show is You Are Super. A Russian show highlighting under privelidged kids.Diana' was born May 31,2003. She suffered unspeakable abuses from her birth mother. After her birth mother tried to drown her in the bathtub, she was thrown out into the streets in February at three years old. She had no vocabulary at three years of age. At age five, after two years in an orphanage, she was adopted by Irena Ponik an employee at that facility. Diana has a video of her singing Oh Darling at age 10 on you tube. Her true genius was saved by Irena.
