One of the jurors is Igor Krutoy, the Russian composer who works with Dimash a lot. He gave her an appartement in Moscow to study there. Diana was taken from her abusive mother as a young child and put in an orphanage. The physiotherapist there adopted her. At the time Diana hardly spoke, so her adoptive mother sent her to a vocal coach, who discovered her talent.

A little back story to this amazing young lady, she was abandoned to the streets of arsenyev, Russia at the age of 3 with a BROKEN collerbone, taken in by an orphanage and was later adopted by one of the orphanage staff, such was the trauma she suffered, she was unable to speak, she was introduced to music as a form of speech therapy, she was 15 when she performed this song, this was a competition for disadvantaged children called you are SUPER, which she won 2yrs in a row, she is 17now, she's a wonderful talent, I think DIANA and MORISSETTE AMON are going to be the next big things, and if they are not, there is something wrong in the industry, the world needs these talents because these are the two best on the planet.

I love seeing new people discovering Diana Ankudinova. I especially enjoyed how you had a real discussion about what you were hearing, instead of just pausing to say "wow", like a lot of reactors have done. You aren't wrong to compare Diana to Cher, though a lot of fans just hate comparisons (maybe a bit over-protective). I think that Cher possibly doesn't maintain the lower registers for the entire time of a song, the way Diana is capable of doing. Even more amazing is the fact that she is only 15 in this video! Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary.
After winning a competition in Moscow, Diana's mother was offered to leave the girl in a boarding school for gifted children. She refused and in 2012 her family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her.
Diana's voice, her perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a little girl and so she impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
In 2017 she went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. Diana sang 'Yodel-Time' ruclips.net/video/vKdvaWsd91Q/видео.html but none of the judges turned around but the whole audience gave 'standing ovation'. What happened? Next day, a huge scandal broke out in social medias. People demanded for Diana's participation in the competition.
A door had closed but a new door opened:
In 2018/19, Moscow hosted the 3rd season of a unique international competition instead of "You are Super", especially for adopted and orphaned children. The winner of the season (Diana) will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
Diana won also a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy gifted her a small apartment in Moscow. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020).
The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3 to D6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically.
But she is not only a great singer and storyteller, but also a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans. They are 'friends' to her and they are very supportive of her. Diana is grateful that they helped improve her home studio and also supported her future plans. Her Russian Friends have chosen Diana as "National Treasure" (no official title).
2020 Diana graduated from high school a year earlier, as an external student and now, she is a student at the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (similar to Juilliard). She is already composing songs and we will definitely hear her own song soon.
She will only take part in major competitions if invited. Such competitions require a lot of time, effort and strength. As a result, participants often have large educational gaps and problems later on. Diana is a smart young woman. She focuses on her studies, her voice and expanding her repertoire.

Diana is a force of nature. She is a contralto, which is rare. Here she was 14 or 15 on a talent show for underpriviliged children to help them along in life. One of the jurors is Igor Krutoy, the Russian composer who works with Dimash a lot. He gave her an appartement in Moscow to study there. Diana was taken from her abusive mother as a young child and put in an orphanage. The physiotherapist there adopted her. At the time Diana hardly spoke, so her adoptive mother sent her to a vocal coach, who discovered her talent.

A little back story to this amazing young lady, she was abandoned to the streets of arsenyev, Russia at the age of 3 with a BROKEN collerbone, taken in by an orphanage and was later adopted by one of the orphanage staff, such was the trauma she suffered, she was unable to speak, she was introduced to music as a form of speech therapy, she was 15 when she performed this song, this was a competition for disadvantaged children called you are SUPER, which she won 2yrs in a row, she is 17now, she's a wonderful talent, I think DIANA and MORISSETTE AMON are going to be the next big things, and if they are not, there is something wrong in the industry, the world needs these talents because these are the two best on the planet.

I love seeing new people discovering Diana Ankudinova. I especially enjoyed how you had a real discussion about what you were hearing, instead of just pausing to say "wow", like a lot of reactors have done. You aren't wrong to compare Diana to Cher, though a lot of fans just hate comparisons (maybe a bit over-protective). I think that Cher possibly doesn't maintain the lower registers for the entire time of a song, the way Diana is capable of doing. Even more amazing is the fact that she is only 15 in this video! There are a lot of great performances from her on this show, especially her performance of Rechenka (River), which is truly primal sounding. She also has a great cover of James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World", which is great. (So does Angelina Jordan, by the way).
As for other covers and originals, last year, in quarantine, some fans provided her with some professional studio equipment.
