Hi BB. Watching episodes that I somehow missed. My favorite SB is Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength. I was lucky to find 4 of these in 2023 at MSRP so far. One is 131.3 proof, one is 131.1 proof and 2 are 130.9 proof. I do like the Jack Daniel’s SB Barrel Proof, but have never had the 4 Roses SB Barrel Strength. I will always pick up the Elijah Craig BP and Larceny BP releases. 🥃
These three are mainstays on my shelf for sure lol. That being said I do get all the ECBP releases as well. LarcenyBP I am hit or miss on I loved most of 2022 but PA hasn't gotten any from 2023 yet
I liked these comparisons I have them all so really interesting to see your rankings. Love your descriptive tasting notes. Can’t go wrong with any of them for sure!
Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof is my favourite. I can't get four roses or old forester in the UK. I bought the jack Daniels for £65 and it was fantastic value. I think my favourite of all time is the Elijah Craig barrel proof at about 120 proof
JDSBBP is one of my favorites as well and you are right it’s a great value. I enjoy ECBP as well but they just started doing single barrel store picks and haven’t found one yet so couldn’t include it haha
Very surprised at the outcome. I think the Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof’s are a little bit out matched here, because I do find most of them as just one dimensionally sweet and not as complex as I usually enjoy. I’m a little surprised you liked the FR over the OF because of what you typically seem to enjoy. Nice plot twist, great content!
Thanks buddy. I was a little surprised too. I’m a huge JD fan and I will say the store picks I’ve had have been miles better than the shelf ones and I like the shelf ones quite a bit. The OFSiBBS was the one I thought would win but that extra aged four roses came out swinging. I’ve never had a four roses that high proof or old before
@@bourbonbillYou should do a blind (if u haven't already) of all the JD BP picks you have & all the same bottle, but the JD BP "shelfers"/non-picks. Heard you say the picks are typically ~2yrs older, but you may have been talking about the Rye version.. Just got 3 bottles of the shelfer from same barrel, because found them at $47.18 +tax. Not sure how much the picks are in my area, but the same bottle I got was $70 at the store right across the street.
Level 6 Four Roses. Nice.
Yeah that one was a particularly good bottle

Thanks Jason! You are right they are all winners here. The person's palate and the store pick quality will make this unique for everyone
Sorry if I missed it, but what was the price for the 4 Roses? Heard the other 2. Thank you!
4 roses barrel strength picks are around $100 a bottle today but when that was filmed it was around $85
Great blind! I love barrel proof bourbons but only have the JDSBBP. I haven’t come across the 4 roses or OF SBBP bottles yet…
Keep up the hunt they are different and worth it for sure at msrp. Four roses can vary a lot with some many different recipes

Great episode I need to find one of those old forester single barrels how would you say it compares to 1920..
I would say it tastes bolder and darker flavors than 1920. It’s a little older tasting as well. Better all around and well worth the price

Probably because the 4 Roses is aged about 2Xs longer than the other 2.

Another great video I vote for the JD because I think those are easiest to find but you are right no losers
Haha great vote. I love the JD and I’ve found now three of the store picks so you are right it’s easier for me at least to find
Glad I didn’t guess the order before watching😂
Haha it came out a surprise for me as well
Ahem.... excuse me...... Jack Daniel's isn't a Bourbon, good Sir......
Haha they call it TN Whiskey but it meets the definition of Bourbon no matter how much they don't want to be called that
@@bourbonbill Don't sully the good name of Bourbon with that Charcoal filtered pretender from Tennessee! 😁
