The riff under the solo on Frayed Ends is my favorite riff of all time; I've been playing the guitar for around 2 years and I'm almost getting it completly done. I can play battery at full speed already but Frayed Ends still a bigger challenge.

Un2 had a tele with the strap peg hooked up to the g string so everytime james did the bend he was jerking the guitar down. He's done a newer strumming variation since.
I would argue Damage Inc. edges out MoP by a bit, maybe even Battery if you're not comfortable with gallops. The hardest part of MoP is that damn section right after the solo. Though, Dyer's Eve is spot on. Unforgiven II is funny because they changed it up these days to not have to use B-Benders.
I wouldn't call it string-skipping unless you're actually skipping over a string, as in play a note on the E and then switching to the D suddenly, hence skipping the A string.

Fight Fire is just nutty, and to top it off, it's got weird timing in the riffs, AND that fucking harmony, it's quite possibly an ultimate rite of passage to nail that shit in a live setting Speed you can train (and even still, nit even comparable to speed they hit post Cliff's death), but it's really a difficult song structure wise
The ascending bridge riff in Puppets is WAYYYYY harder. Especially with those 16th note gallops. And what makes Fight Fire With Fire so hard is you have to play the power chord on the & of the upbeat. The way its accented makes it feel like it's right on the upbeat and it's not.
Ehh, the puppets bridge is pretty okay, the harmony is a little harder to play, but still not impossible, it's very easy to play with alt/economy picking Imo Damage inc's bridge is just *nutty,* it's like Blackened's or Fight Fire's galloping cousin, but their difficulty is downpicking and altpicking respectively RTL really is difficult just in this one song, and Creeping Death to a little extent, the rest of the album is trivial to a seasoned guitarist
I'd say for RtL it's Ride's Spider Chord riff. For MoP it's Disposable for the sustained picking pattern. St. Anger is probably the title track. Hardwired is also probably the title track.
I thought string skipping meant moving more than one string up or down. The master of puppets riff only plays Teo strings next to eachother. The Intro of Seek and Destroy has string skipping given you have to go from 6th to 4th string. Otherwise great video

(takes a lot of time to get the precision it takes to sync it with the drums). Special mention to Frayed ends of sanity.. everything after the solo, weird tempos and hand dexterity is needed Source: I’ve been playing metallica since I was born Im too lazy to think of the other albums

I chcecked if dyers eve is here bcoz: - the "2 3 2 3" is bullshit, you can clearly hear that when slowed down, even Kirk confirmed that. - it's just normal tremolo, many other metallica songs have patterns like that ( prechorus from disposable heroes) - there are many harder riffs from ajfa (main riff from blackened, frayed ends od sanity pre-solo etc.)
Damage Inc. Is far more difficult than the self-titled song on MoP Some Kind of Monster is pretty simple with the 0-3-5 cord, albeit the entire album is simple, but I think Sweet Amber & My World are more diverse imo Everything else seems to be fair enough

Frayed Ends of Sanity's 0 000 757 000 757 (sth like that) middle riff is so hard too. The triplet there is sooo fast!
I'd also add that My Apocalypse's lick is difficult because you have to gradually add the pinch harmonics, this is just a massive part of the riff
