It is 1811. A coup d’etat in the Confederation of Rhine has caused the many states that were part of it to declare independence from Napoleon and form a federal republic based on the United States. France has assembled the Grande Armee to crush this infernal rebellion and retake direct control over the Rhineland. However, Prussia has sent two armies to support the Confederates in their fight and Britain has sent an army as well, forming a large allied force opposing the Grande Armee in the Rhine. The French have also bribed Portugal to send an army across Spain (there was no Peninsular War in this timeline.) However, the Grande Armee is led by the great general Emperor Napoleon, whose presence was worth 40,000 men on any battlefield. Whoever wins this battle decides the fate of the Rhineland.
Your great great grandfather had to shoot muskets? And you met him at a time when people still had to do that? You can miss a person, but you can't miss a time period that ended long before you were born. It just isn't the right word for what you are describing. Missing something implies personal loss.
JmonsterTW More of a Punic Wars man myself. But I love historical accuracy. I may need to buy new umderwear now. Now if we got a mod like this with a Punic Wars setting... I *_LOVE_* Classical Antiquity... I would have to change my pants every ten minutes... A good, solid volley of pila followed by a brutal charge of bronze clad Hastati... mmmmmm... muh pancreas... And those Triarii... thoss scuta and hastae... The war elephants... The Sacred Band... Rhodos slingers... Phalanges... Mmmmmmmmmmmm...
Rome Total War 1, remember to not change vegetation quality in the launcher if you plan on using the RS 3 Beta, but if you will only use RS 2.5 then go ahead and change anything.
Apollo thank you for going back to Napoleon era and especially to NTW 3 mod. That is why I subscribed in the first place! I am so very tired of Warhammer videos. Keep up the good work man.
Exactly what I'm thinking. I can't say that I didn't enjoy watching first few videos but that's just it. Like you've said after that it is just boring. But the battles like this one? Never get tired of those.
Totally agree. But I guess, it's a typical Warhammer problem (at least for me). In my teens, I was a lot into Tabletop games for a time, but Warhammer to me always seemed to be over the top: It was interesting at the beginning, but - compared to LOTR tabletop e. g. - it was just too much fantasy-crazy stuff.
Yeah I know what you mean. As for me, I was never a fan of Warhammer universe. I respect the fact that a lot of people love it but for me it's a no. I was really pissed when CA first announced the Warhammer Total War. They were all like, it ain't gonna affect the historical titles etc. but we can see how that turn out :/
Exactly, there are so many more periods, which CA can explore and that are historical, still. Like the Great War Mod is fun, but here, the engine and the whole layout of the Total War Series reach their end, when abandoning army formations down to squads and platoons. Still, doing something like a remake of Rome: Total War can be good. I only know Rome II through gameplay videos, yet it doesn't catch me like the original did. Rome: Total War was THE game that brought me to the Total War Series, before that I only knew stuff like Age of Empires, Empire Earth and Stronghold (the last being a great game), but Rome: Total War was like a revelation to me, the absolute top of where you could go (and the absolute top were my shitty computer was able to go). I guess, the factors that make Napoleon: Total War so good is the actual historical accuracy (even heightened with the Total War 3 mod) and that it is not too far away from our own time.
Amazing battle and amazing mod. The reason, why I'm subscribed to you. Best moment ofcourse the great cavalry charge on the Rheinbund flank. Especially impressive, as 3 different players contributed a single cavalry unit to destroy the French in one coordinated assault. Brillant!
I’m very simple, I see a Napoleonic War Pixelated Apollo video, I sit down, get a snack, and get ready for some amazing quality content. You da best Apollo!
MacGhriogair I once had a five hour long siege battle in Medieval 2. It was amazing. The Egyptians brought a grand bombard, and my Hungarian allies suicide charged it with heavy cav within the opening exchanges. It destroyed the front gatehouse before Hungary plowed into it. My Danes held every inch of ground, and the English bows cost the saracen attackers dearly. Then Poland arrived and whiped the floor with Turkey. 4v4, by the way. It was so... epic... mmmmmmmmmmmm...
The battles in NTW are not long at all. ^ The video uses Napoleonic 3 mod which makes battles 4 times longer than normal. Warhammer battles can be just as long using mods.
Confederation of the Rhine pulling that clutch into the squeeze of their French colleagues. Much like Sweden's huge flanking maneuver that one time in another close and hard fought NTW3 battle. Kudos to both.
Hey Apollo I've been watching u for 3 years. Your a awesome youtuber never let haters slow u down cuz those haters r probably some little kids, stay healthy and may god bless u and your family.
Great to see you back doing Napoleonic Battles Apollo! Thats why I subscribed, and I even went and joined NTW3 community a year ago, and even helped in a small way to develop 7.5! Thanks for being happy about all the work we have all done! Hope to see you on a NTW3 Battlefield soon! Name is iSandlwana :)
Nathanael Paxevanos Actually, as an easter egg the modders have put Sharpe as a commander of the 95th Rifles. You can choose him from the General selection. :p
Apollo... I have been subbed for over 2 years now, ofcourse I am used to your having some word problems now and then XD, it just makes your commentary more enjoyable
The 6th Dragoons would definitely be getting a unit citation for this, or a battle honor, or even the name of this battle on its flag like the 19th Dragoons at the Battle of Assaye
I enjoy most of your vids mate but that was an epic battle! I thought it was over for the British alliance with their lone dragoon unit, then like out of a movie Rhine landers and Prussian cav arrive and turn the battle around! It was like something from a movie, more like this please 👍
Played my first battle on this mod today. I was Prussia attacking Saxony, with about 5k men on each side. The battle took nearly an hour and it could have gone either way up until the last ten minutes or so. And IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I missed long, pitched battles in total war games.
I don't want this to be taken the wrong way. But your videos always make me sleepy. You videos are not boring, to be far I do t know what it is. But when ever I want to sleep I will just pull up one of you videos and go to sleep with the sounds of battle in the back round.
I really wish there were more multiplayer battles available in my area near Albany New York. Anyway great video and the corny jokes were perfectly placed
The imperial guard just destroy cab in squares They also destroy just when firing It’s so hard to take out the regiment But my way is to literally triple team them
Epic back and forth and those cav charges are deadly. Do a life of a unit, 6th dragoon! You have to! They deserve a medal! At first Napoleon got his pincer but the British broke through his center and managed to around one of the pincers, separating the French forces. A classic counter to the pincer maneuver, isolate and defeat in detail. Brilliant game. Should let us watch France's final stand at the ruins.
3min54 did i hear " actually he's got a lot of equals" ?? NO apollo not you !!!! you were the chosen one who would bring balance to the force !!! lol ! napoleon 's got very few equals and none during his lifetime. ps: i'm baguette
at waterloo he was very sick and marshall ney took the active command and Grouchy( with 33 000 men ) failed the order of napoleon to prevent blucher to join wellington after defeating him at battle of ligny... Furthermore, wellington played the battle very defensive. It's called corner camping lol. More seriously even wellington recognize napoleon to be the best general of al time. finally why he lost at the end ?? maybe cause he felt invincible after 40 won battle and mostly cause he had the oligarchy who still reign in europe financing every monarchy in europe to stop the french revolutions ideas... They paid russia, spain, portugal, sweden, england, prussia, austria, holland, etc. Nobody could have overcome such ods i believe. Of course he did some mistake but i think overall he did what he could.
he was quite evil actually. a great general, but nothing more. in politics he couldnt do shit. all his strenght was his army. no other means political power. and he really wasnt a fan of french revolutionary ideas cuz u know, he crowned himself emperor and all that. and like prussia and spain and especially england were not just paid of. they didn not nead any other reason than vengeance to fight against napoleon. the money was just to keep them cooperating and not start infighting. in terms of military wit, yeah he was great, but every period has new great generals every war new weapons, which changes the tactics and strategies, so you cant say "the best" he was one of the best, he is certainly up there in the hall of fame toghether with wellington, trafalgar, washington, hitler, cesar, alexander, a bunch of asian dudes and this one germanic guy who betrayed the romans and slaughtered 3 LEGIONS on the forest with a handfull barbarians.
sorry to read that !! man napoleon actually did better in law and civil organisation than in military . you heard about the napoleonic code or civil code? it's the base of law in entire europe and in asia and the american continent !!never since the roman empire europe had seen such a total and huge work about justice and juridictions and economy or education. it's sad to see that anglo saxon propaganda works even today. yeah he crowns himself emperor but didn't change the ideas of revolution but ended the terror and stabilised the french state after years of chaos. He actually secured the revolution against all the old monarchies. if he wasn't there you would never have heard of french revolution cause it would have been crush in the begining. he used referundums a lot and at the end gave up the power so france didn't see civil war while he could have use guerilla tactics. for the military, wellington and hitler or washington are really not in the same weight class ..... trafalgar is one battle and the hour of glory of arminius is the slaughter of three legion by treason.... he won more battles than alexander, caesar and hannibal reunited and was on the battlefield every time. i can go wrong but as far as i know only gengis khan, caesar and alexander are worthy of him
At 39.04 there is a Regiment called "Lippe". I am from this small region. never expected it to be in any game, defenetly not as a military force. After all Lippe was so poor nobody annexed it because it would have been a waste of money. Our "troops" were famous for taking so long to march to war, that when the Lipper arrived on the frontline, the war was long over :D
You should have a 4v4 where one person has a General and a support based army while the other 3 players are a combination of infantry and calvary. For example player 1 would have Napoleon and several reserve units. While the other players would have the main force.
The fix to this is you have to go to the sound settings, uncheck every sound option, and then recheck them. I think it was me who you remember telling you this, because I told you before.
I saw the part on Hyena Toad where one of the soldiers mentioned Afghan history about Alexander, so I thought about doing a Wolverine FanFiction set in WWII where Logan is a Canadian paratrooper. I just need some information on Wesel during the Napoleonic War.
I love the super realism of this mod! Gratitude to them! But why then this battle and not an actual historical one, or at least one that is within the realm of the possible? Evenso, good content Apollo! I tip my knightly cap to you ;)
‘Guess what child,..., you can go back to warhammer and let the real men wage war’
Well thats what gets you a like
Yes that line is epic!
I am a child,and i guess most children start from fantasy,but i hate fantasy,so i would rather get orders from napoleon,than a monster
*Hey guys! Just a heads up. I am moving tomorrow and won't be as active. Should be ready by next week. Thanks for watching :D*
Pixelated Apollo will you do any more stronghold vids?
Ah. I too go inactive when I am my bing!
Quote to the REAL MEN! Warhammer I'd fine but nothing beats hours of long battles and muskets kicking each others ass!
Hey Apollo did you vote for the new holdfast factions? And who did you vote for
Pixelated Apollo You deserve it!🙇😂👍👏👏

Wait is this the war of the republican coalition
not surprised that fancy uniforms was in the checklist for best battles ever !
LazyCouch G3mer I agree
That moment when the Rhineland and Prussian cavalry joined the British in a charge gave me goosebumps and sent me to tears. It was beautiful teamwork
Lmao
Bruh lol omg lamo
'Alright child you can go back to warhammer and let the real men wage war' pixie poo 2017 that killed me
I miss when men had to grow a moustache ,wear fancy uniforms and shoot muskets ...
We all remember the day moustaches became obsolete, we all saw, we all cried, humanity lost great values that day.
Byzantium God damn gas
You can't miss what you never experienced...
Your great great grandfather had to shoot muskets? And you met him at a time when people still had to do that? You can miss a person, but you can't miss a time period that ended long before you were born. It just isn't the right word for what you are describing. Missing something implies personal loss.
I Changed My Name But I'm Still theMRnothing now masculinity is frowned upon it makes me sick
Not too many people do Napoleonic battle, so this was a nice treat. Nice work, PA.
It was a great battle, but I don't really like those dark maps, I rather have some green grass and a blue sky.
JmonsterTW
More of a Punic Wars man myself. But I love historical accuracy.
I may need to buy new umderwear now.
Now if we got a mod like this with a Punic Wars setting...
I *_LOVE_* Classical Antiquity...
I would have to change my pants every ten minutes...
A good, solid volley of pila followed by a brutal charge of bronze clad Hastati... mmmmmm... muh pancreas...
And those Triarii... thoss scuta and hastae...
The war elephants...
The Sacred Band...
Rhodos slingers...
Phalanges...
Mmmmmmmmmmmm...
I recommend checking out Roma Surrectum II in that case.
Attila? Rome 2? Rome 1? Which game is that for?
Rome Total War 1, remember to not change vegetation quality in the launcher if you plan on using the RS 3 Beta, but if you will only use RS 2.5 then go ahead and change anything.
Muskets and fancy uniforms, hmmm, made my day again
Apollo thank you for going back to Napoleon era and especially to NTW 3 mod. That is why I subscribed in the first place!
I am so very tired of Warhammer videos. Keep up the good work man.
So agree! Warhammer is fun for like 2 or 3 vidz, but after that it's just boring.

"The guard dies he doesn't surrender!" says the french commander to his men, seconds before the Prussian volley
This video is the cure for erectile dysfunction.
I wish Total War Warhammer 1 and 2 battles were like this.
This makes no sense because Warhammer is medieval like.
You wish Warhammer was based off Napoleonic history?
Bob Marl he means the gameplay that warhammer is too quick and not exciting but long like NTW.
MacGhriogair
I once had a five hour long siege battle in Medieval 2.

Nice battle Apollo ! That smoke in the forest was so great ! And that alamo stand on the hill was cool too.
Thanks !
Yes the sound fix is simple, go to audio settings, and put the sound channels to 264, so you can have twice as many sounds as you can now!
Napoleonic Total War 3 is by far the most enjoyable for me to watch, great video, keep it up

Hi, Isand
The UK player needed to have brought in the 95th Rifles, Sharpe would have done well in this battle
Nathanael Paxevanos Actually, as an easter egg the modders have put Sharpe as a commander of the 95th Rifles. You can choose him from the General selection. :p
Awesome Battle! Keep up the good work Pixie!
55 minutes of glory! Nice video as always
"Russia but with the P" I love you Apollo, btw i agree with you this is the best mod
Apollo... I have been subbed for over 2 years now, ofcourse I am used to your having some word problems now and then XD, it just makes your commentary more enjoyable
You deserve more subscribers! Keep up the *awesome* videos. I really enjoy them.
this is why i love u PA

The 6th Dragoons would definitely be getting a unit citation for this, or a battle honor, or even the name of this battle on its flag like the 19th Dragoons at the Battle of Assaye
I love you Apollo =D, by the way Napoleon had no equal during his time, that's why it's called NAPOLEONIC wars, nobody could 1v1 him.
100% true
I fucking love these 1 hour battles! I watch them when i cook dinner everytime!
Omg thank you so much Apolo for going to more modern battles like empire and Napoleon total war.

"go back to Warhammer and let the real men fight."
I laughed so hard at this!
"What was your favorite part of the battle?"
The part when the 6th Inniskilling turned the battle.
My ideal weekend: sit down get some snacks and watch Apollo do the best total war commentary
Played my first battle on this mod today. I was Prussia attacking Saxony, with about 5k men on each side. The battle took nearly an hour and it could have gone either way up until the last ten minutes or so. And IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I missed long, pitched battles in total war games.
This battle is sooooo epic! please do more like this.
Gerard was in that battle. What a brave man he was.
Hell yeah! the real mans mod! love it. great video :)
Greetings from Germany, i live Right next to the Rhine xD
Ww3
Ww2
this is hour of pure joy great job PA.
OMG! This is really the best mod! I hope to see more such battles!
I don't want this to be taken the wrong way. But your videos always make me sleepy. You videos are not boring, to be far I do t know what it is. But when ever I want to sleep I will just pull up one of you videos and go to sleep with the sounds of battle in the back round.
Yes precisely
people think history suck but i reckon it the best thanks for making the videos and keep the good work up :)
Love this video coming back to this in 2019 this mod has now reached update 8.4
I really wish there were more multiplayer battles available in my area near Albany New York. Anyway great video and the corny jokes were perfectly placed
Looks great
The imperial guard just destroy cab in squares
They also destroy just when firing
It’s so hard to take out the regiment
But my way is to literally triple team them
Great vid as well done as always!!!
Keep it up
35:02, during the caff charge, did I see a soldier fly?
"the balance of power in NTW is a little buggy" - P.A on every NTW battle ever xD lol get a laugh every time. Keep up the good work!
Watching this video while pooping. The video ended and I realized I spent an hour pooping. haha. Love it Pixie! Love it!
Epic back and forth and those cav charges are deadly. Do a life of a unit, 6th dragoon! You have to! They deserve a medal! Agreed, this is the best Total War mod of all time. More NTW3 Battles, please!
These are my favorite to watch. BY FAR
The long battles! YES. Apollo makes awsome videos. Throw back to
Defenders never win.
3min54 did i hear " actually he's got a lot of equals" ?? NO apollo not you !!!! you were the chosen one who would bring balance to the force !!! lol ! napoleon 's got very few equals and none during his lifetime.
ps: i'm baguette
No, he didn't have equals, he had betters.
Sir Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington for one
Amen, if napoleon was so great, how come he got beaten, resoundingly, twice? Especially waterloo.
at waterloo he was very sick and marshall ney took the active command and Grouchy( with 33 000 men ) failed the order of napoleon to prevent blucher to join wellington after defeating him at battle of ligny... Glory to the 6th Dragoons! Amazing mod and battle.
Amazing fight welldone gg keep up the amazing napoleon total war videos

Lazychuck Productions Come join the ntw3 community, play battles like this every evening!
Another good video from you. Well done. Do not feel bad about sometimes naming the wrong name. It happens. Still a very nice video to watch.
Damn this battle was amazing! More of these battles please!
Holy shit that encirclment of the french was most beautiful thing that i ever saw in that game!
"Napoleon, you're awesome dude." Papa bless
11:44 best moment I ever seen that’s just ... just beautiful
A battle of an hour isn't a too long battle, its an hour of awesome content!😂
You should organize some sort of bracket tournament with this mod
I see the word napoleonic battle and total war 3 mod and i'm forget everything in life and watch
Ayman Moussaif Even grammar apparently. Lol
That clutch cav charge was amazing
4:56 the disgust!
Pixie-I love this MOD please upload more!!!
This is the best game to watch for me cuz i love old wars!
Really interesting battle. Kept me guessing all the way. Love this mod, although I've never played so far. A beautiful looking game.
The fix to this is you have to go to the sound settings, uncheck every sound option, and then recheck them. I think it was me who you remember telling you this, because I told you before.

That was a nice battle in i love the mods very realistic
hey apollo I love your vids 👌keep up the good work
I love the super realism of this mod! Gratitude to them! But why then this battle and not an actual historical one, or at least one that is within the realm of the possible? Evenso, good content Apollo! I tip my knightly cap to you ;)
BEST INTRO EVER!!! GJ PIXIE
One of the best battles ive ever seen.
"We're already 20 minutes in. 8 minutes away from 20 minutes."
One word describes this mod-awesome!
