Apparently it’s only a factor for the PDX. The 508 and 510’s buffer is standard length. There’s a spring pin That protrudes to block the buffer when you separate the upper from the lower.
I mean it is a small deal, but your right when you pay that kind of money for a firearm and it comes in a cardboard box, and not a hardcase it kinda annoys me. The bigger thing that annoys me about these companies is when you pay $2k+ for a rifle/Ar pistol, and they dont come with some sort of iron sights. That to me is B.S. YOu pay that much for a gun and it does not even come safe to shoot.
Compared to my Noveske, charging the bolt felt gritty and rough to me. Not sure it makes a huge difference function wise but for $2500 it’s tempting to me to go to Noveske to see if they’ll make me a custom 8” 7.62.39 with their PDW stock… How has this been since you purchase? Are you rubbing suppressed with the Helios?
No Helios yet…. I wouldn’t say the charging bull feels gritty but the return spring seems a little soft when the bolt closes. However it has not been an issue, the only issue so far I’ve had is with cheap brass ammo. I just ordered a case of a higher quality brass ammo to make sure it was actually just ammunition causing issues. Because when I shot steel case through it, it had zero issues. And the issues I’m referring to was the brass doing a double feed now and then, and the brass casing gets a little chewed up in there so little bits of brass chunks have to be cleaned out after indoor range days. I’ve shot nearly 1000 through it now and less than 5 jams, all with Norma tactical brass.
I looked at one of these at my local GS. Pulling the charging handle the system felt a little rough, not smooth like I was expecting. How have you found the QC to be?
Probably just needs some oil, I’ve been through over 1000 rounds now. Brass, steel, suppressed, …jams are rare and always appear to be cartridge related. This is a weapon where a $2K plus price point makes sense. Nothing has broken and I would take this in an end game scenario. The question is, whether or not that new Sig spear LT in 7.62x39 is better…

Unless you truly need it to be that compact, get the 510. The 508 is barely long enough for a comfortable grip/stance. And you get the benefit of better ballistics. If your shorter it might be perfect, but I’m 6’2” and could use the extra 2” of length for proper handling.
@@Mondomerve I’m 5’9” lol I thought about the 510 but I figured a home defense would work in the 508. I did do some research between the barrel lengths. They did say the sweet spot was between 9-10” barrels.

The beauty of this brace vs the “s” model is it uses milspec BCG. S model uses modified/shorter bolt

great pick up..... nice set up altogether
What kind of trigger is that
Nice looking pistol brother

What did you do the the bulging hernia of a buffer tube spring that made it stay in place with that style buffer weight?

I had this and Loved it , but it would not Cycle Brown Bear Subsonic 762x39 Ammo like My Maxim PDX did So I Sold it
Have you done a field strip video of your MDX508? Does it strip like a mil spec AR15? I saw the PDX is a little different.
