Dude, you just opened my eyes. I've been reading reapack over and over again. Looking at videos and still just found out how to install. Yeap, I'm computer illiterate. Thanks.
I could not find this info anywhere. Thank you! May I put in a vote for some more videos about cool Reaper scripts and plugins? You found some great ones!
Important Note: The screen menus on Reaper on this video are very blurry. That is because RUclips by default (and by why God knows why) plays videos at 360p instead of the original high resolution of most videos. Just click the round cog under this video above and click quality and then select 1080p and these menus will be clear.
@@LetsTalkAboutReaper In SWS I like Cycle Actions. It sits halfway between Custom Actions (a linear list of actions) and a Lua script will full programmatic constructs. It's actions with conditions and loops, great for workflow. Auto-color/icon/layout is wonderful if you have a solid track naming strategy. It's just important to make sure more specific track name filters appear higher in the list than more general filters. I also can't cope without Fast FX Finder (not SWS) that I have on CTL-f
Hey ... thanks for some good videos. The SonicAnomaly link on Reapack doesn’t seem to be working. Do you know if their plugins that you showed in the video are still available? Thanks.
@@LetsTalkAboutReaper Hey and thanks for the quick reply. That is the link I think I am trying to go to on Reapack.com/repos ... when I click on that button/link on Reapack.com it looks like it is really trying to take me to sonic.supermaailma.net/plugins and I get a "This site can’t be reached" error message. When I enter the link that it shows on the Reapack website (the same as the one in your message, above) directly into a web browser I get a full page of text which appears to be a script.
That link with the full page of script is the link that should be copied and pasted into Reapack (just the link, not the script itself) The actual sonic anomaly webpage is dead, but the GitHub xml link is what Reapack needs, it still works
Yeah but I need to do this in order as Jon Tidey told me. So I reinstalled VLC first then the second one is Sws and then reapack I cannot get Sws in there and I'm following it to the letter
Thank you! I hope to keep doing these, at the moment I am going through ideas trying to figure out how best to approach some of the concepts in a brief and easy to understand format.
Will need a lot more details to be of any real assistance. Hop on discord and share some more information. Operating system and screenshots of the error would be helpful discord.gg/FMjQYGuauy
Negative. Typically if it doesn't work, it's either the wrong architecture or installed to the wrong directory. Are you on a Mac, by chance? There can be some additional steps for Mac since they keep changing security settings under the hood with newer releases
Have you tried the 'Piano Display' of Geraint Luff in REAPER? I use it as a piano display for my MIDI controller but I have to apply it always in the input FX. Is there a way we can make it a default like the virtual MIDI keyboard (Alt+B) in REAPER? Hope you respond, thanks. :D
Hey, and thanks for stopping by! I can't say that i've tried it, admittedly I don't deal with MIDI a whole lot. Lemme take a look, though, and see if this might be possible.
I just installed and tested. The Piano Display, as you said, is a FX meant only to display the MIDI content. Because it is an FX, it can't be used as the default virtual MIDI keyboard. To my understanding, it is read only and cannot be used as MIDI input.
Beginner to Reaper here. Can I just install all packages even if I'm on the latest version of Reaper already? Or would it create any problems or malfunctions or anything like that? Thank you.
Hey, welcome aboard! It shouldn't cause any issues, I'd just say to be selective with what you install. You won't break anything but I like to keep a clean system and uninstall and package I don't plan to use, assuming I'm just trying some new things to see what's out there. Reapack is quite stable and several developers use it to help ensure that they have an easy distribution method to keep their scripts and plugins updated. EDIT: I suppose I should explicitly say, I would not install all packages, primarily because there are likely overlapping functions and plenty you won't use. I doubt it would break anything since most of these are actions you would run on demand, but I go back to my thoughts on only installing what you plan to use.
@@LetsTalkAboutReaper Thank you for your timely response. Hundreds of overlapping features and scripts getting installed was my biggest concern. I will be selective then of what I install. Thank you.
I like to use Reapack to find new actions to do something more efficiently or to solve a problem. For example, I could not find an action to move my time selection forward or backward based on the current selection, so I checked Reapack and found actions that did exactly that. Now, if I am editing drums, I can make a time selection of 4 bars to work on, and when I am done, click a button to select the next four bars. I find that using it in this way to expand as I need and keeps the program slim and manageable. Sometimes I do go "shopping" just to see what's in there and try out some tools that catch my eye.
It may just not be digitally signed. Unfortunately, sometimes developers have to pay Microsoft to remove things like that. The application is perfectly harmless, and it's a false positive. If you're using either Microsoft edge or Google chrome, you should be able to click a drop-down arrow and choose to keep the file anyway
Assuming you mean "Various Functions" by MPL, here's a thread on the topic. It should be available in ReaPack just by searching "various functions" in the filter forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=188335
I installed reapck on the userplugins is there but i don't see any extensions menu i even unistall reaper and installed it again i had the pay version.? What I'm doing wrong.?
Why would malware be an issue if you're using proper software that is not pirated? Not that it can't happen, mind you, but I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. Install what you need and/or want to try, remove what you don't, and use legitimate sources.
@@LetsTalkAboutReaper I am not talking about reaper. I am talking about plugins. That's a common misconception that plugin dll files are any different from exe files, they are not. Whatever Reaper/some other host would be able to do on the system, the plugins are also able to do. For example if the plugin contains code to format a hard drive, it can do it just fine, within the same permissions that Reaper had when it was started. (Of course if the host application wasn't started with administrator privileges, complete mayhem probably can't happen. edit : In that sense, installers are something to be careful with, they often ask to be able to run with admin privileges and could do shady stuff during that.)
