Great video. I’ve been checking these out for a few days already and I’m liking them a lot. I love your idea of having the vu meter on the mixer. My only issue is that holding shift and left clicking isn’t doing anything? What am I doing wrong?

thanks they are pretty nice check out these ones Geraint's JSFX repository. I use the Piano Display on a track with the volume turned off(not muted) then i send my piano track to that track, it's like synthesia but even better, it shows on the keys what each note is when you press them. One thing i still need to learn is how to control midi velocity with my mod wheel on my midi keyboard. then what you do i guess is record again over your string section and just use the mod wheel and it adjusts the velocity.

daaaang ill have to check these when i get home. been wanting to try and get out of just using JST GR for harsh vocals and i know things like the distressor and the 76 'all in' mode are usually said to be great for them.
wonder if he could attempt that Shadow Hills compressor. thought about buying it off of plugin alliance and its pretty pricey

When I open a new midi item in Reaper, I like things to look chunky. I have to zoom in manually each time. Do you know if there is a default zoom setting for the midi editor?

There may be some options in midi editor preferences, but I'm not much of an midi user. I can take a look a bit later though you'll likely get a faster answer on the Discord server, it seems the midi-centric users outnumber me there 😁

That's been a while, but it looks like that was probably My Taste II, I used that pretty heavily for a bit.

That's an older video, I believe I was using My Taste II at that time.

I haven't done a huge comparison yet, but I tried the Distressor style plugin this morning and it sounds fantastic!
The plugins are good for themselves. They are even better in comparison. 😜
I'm waiting for the first comparison videos people make.
Will definitely look into these.
Why do you monitor at -18db?
Some believe it to be a magic number for gain staging. The short version is leaving plenty of headroom for plugins and any gain you may add later during mixing

Are these JS plug-ins only for reaper or can I use these plug-ins with any DAW for windows OS and Mac OS?
JS plugins will only work in REAPER.
I did the install, but plugins are not showing up in my plugins folder. Any idea how to fix this? Tried two separate ways to install, and no luck with either. I know it's been a while since you posted this. Thanks!
Did you install using ReaPack? Also, how are you searching? They should be either in the JS section or All Plugins. If you happen to be looking filtered for VST, you won't see them there

Is this installation for reaper on windows pc or reaper on a mac?
You can install them on Windows, Mac, or Linux using either the manual method or using Reapack. Reapack is preferred because he updates these plugins VERY frequently, and you can synchronize packages in Reapack to easily update them all in one shot.
Beeing a Noob: How do I install all the updates, and where are they?
The easiest way to update is through ReaPack. Assuming you installed using ReaPack, open up ReaPack and use the Synchronize option, and it will update all scripts, plugins, actions, etc, that were installed by it, in one shot.

Wow. Just tried to download reapack and my laptop keeps blocking and saying that the dll file could damage the device. Wth.
It's just because it's not "signed," it's perfectly safe. You should be able to tell your browser to keep the file, or set and exclusion of it's your antivirus blocking it

there is no extensions tab in reaper 7 :(
you won't have extension in ANY version of REAPER unless you install them. Have you installed either ReaPack? Once you do, you will have the extension menu. Kindly rewatch the video in its entirety and follow the instructions carefully. There is a link shown in the video for instructions on installing ReaPack, which is a prerequisite for following the rest of the tutorial.
