I watched outbreak during the lockdown & reread the stand enjoyed them didn’t care for kings new work.

Just wondering, please don’t take this the wrong way, do you have any type of neurodivergent? Iv never done this but my ADHD mind thinks this would be AMAZING
@@AAMolderI have ADHD and I have the Audio Book and the physical book of “ the will of the many” and I have been switching on and off and it’s great!
@@AAMolder funny you asked about it just when I finished The Maid by Nita Prose. I don't believe I am. I also don't have anything like ADHD. I simply find, if the narration is good enough, that it can enhance my reading experience by a lot. I do need something to focus on when I listen to a book; engage my hands or my body - so I walk, I crochet, I clean or... I pick up the book and follow along.

I read a lot of Stephen King when I was younger, always liked the stories. A friend once gave a book with short stories by Ray Bradbury, I think it was The Martian Chronicles. I remember reading some of the stories many times!
I had stopped watching your videos because I'm stuck in The Wheel of Time, at the moment - book 6. I'm going very slow with these books!

I'm so glad you started reading Stephen King. He's my favorite author and The Stand is my favorite novel. I read it years ago and need to read it again.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to pick up one of his books, but it has been totally worth it! The Stand is amazing

I started watching your channel a few weeks ago as I've been getting into fantasy lately and Stephen King is my favourite author. I am very happy you're reading The Stand, it is one of the first books I ever read and it is still my favourite. Hope you enjoy it :)
I'm happy you found the channel! I'm not sure why it took me this long to pick up a King book haha, but I'm loving it and will definitely be making some Stephen King content soon!
I've also struggled with the book Dune when I tried to read it 10 years ago, however, after recently watching the movies, I tried reading it again and enjoyed it so much more. The movies helped me to picture some of the things that I struggled to imagine for myself years ago.

Listening while reading is my favorite way to consume books. I feel fully immersed in the world and story that way. I also have trouble focusing if I’m just doing one or the other.

Hyped for the summary videos. I love Stormlight but those books are chunky, and re-reading, or remembering all the details for new release is just a commitment.
I would love to listen to the Stormlight graphic audiobooks, but can’t justify the cost.
The cost is definitely a big downside to graphic audio. Audible recently added a whole bunch of GraphicAudio titles which is great to see, so hopefully The Stormlight Archive GA versions will make there way over too, as the price of a Audible credit is much more justifiable.
Also be on the lookout for sales. I got the whole series for over 60% off.
You got me hooked on audiobooks and hole reading along. Especially when they’re free (with library card) on hoopla.
It’s interesting to see how they change some words/sentences in one or the other.

I reread The Stand during the pandemic lol I definitely wouldn't advise it for most people! So glad you're enjoying it as well as Dune, two favorites! I also look forward to the Words of Radiance deep dive as the other in anticipation for Wind and Truth's release. Thanks for the video!

We just came back from a short Ireland trip! Literally as we booked the flights and accommodation, your video with the first announcement came online :D And we went also to Killarney and did the Ring of Kerry etc. ... I can only recommend it to everyone!

I am reading The Lies of Locke Lamora and it has taken me by utter surprise in both how much I enjoy it and what I actually expected it to be. I also read Fool’s Errand, probably my favorite book this year. I also tried reading City of Last Chances but could not get into it. I will soon be reading Disquiet Gods then Of Darkness and Light then Golden Fool in April.
Is great you are giving King's book a try! The shinning was also the first King's book I read, I was in middle school (when I was around 15 years old) and I loved it, after you read a few give it a try to the dark tower, would recomend you do it after you finish the stand and read It and Insomnia 🙌
I don't know why it took me this long to read a King book, but I'm very happy to have started! Will definitely check out dark tower after reading a few more

Captain Trips got out because of the man in black from the Dark Tower (Flagg).
I also read and listen to the audio at the same time for extra retention. I usually only do it for more epic complex books like Stormlight, Sun Eater, Dune, etc
I've read Dune 16 times (first read it at age 13 and now I'm 40) it's one of my all time favorites. Hope you like it! PLEASE try to read the first 4 in the Frank Herbert dune series, book 4 is absolutely unreal but you gotta read the first three to get the full scope

I was crazy enough to read The Stand and watch Contagion in 2021. It was a trip.
I did the same thing when I read dune, book and audiobook simulatenously, and it was a great experience

Wine of dreams is a collection of award-winning Israeli sci-fi/fantasy and it's nice to see the evolution of the genres in Israel, since every story is from the following year.
I don't think there's a translation, I'm reading it in Hebrew.
Btw the award is called the vine award so the book's name is a pun and I love it

The stand is my favourite Stephen King book. It's my on my audio book. I loved the 90's mini series newer version, not as much. And I did rewatch it during the pandemic with my teenagers. Dune is also one of my favourite book series ever. I was 16 when I read it 1st. I also grew up with the 80's film and the 00's version. Haven't managed to watch dune pt2. And the dude series is the next on my audio list. As my tbr is so big I'm using audio listen to books I enjoy but don't have time to read instead of re reading them so I can finish stuff i want to read. Even though I'm currently re reading wheel of time. I'm going to pause as I still haven't read the hunger games prequel yet and want to so I can watch the film

I don’t think it’s weird to read the book while listening to the audio book. As a kid I had with children’s books with cassettes (some with records 😮) and I absolutely loved them. More books should come that way.

I read The Stand comics during the pandemic. It freaked me out 😂
The 1994 television adaptation of the Stand (starring Gary Sinese, Rob Lowe, and Molly Ringwald) is truer to the book and just overall better than the 2020 adaptation. It's also uploaded on youtube. The 2020 version has an offensive performance of Trashcan Man by Ezra Miller and totally misses the mark on "evil" Vegas. Feel free to miss it. Brad William Henke (RIP) does a solid Tom Cullen tho, and Owen Teague's Harold Laudner shows some promise

Dune is one of the best novels I've ever read. The world building is amazing. Don't bother with the rest of the series though. The sequels were disappointing.
