    Another way to adjust the clutch is to measure the clutch spring installed height. Using this method you set the installed height at 2”. Meaning you adjust the screws until the spring it self measures2” from end to end

    this is the best explanation of how the transmission even works that I've seen so far, and that's not even what you were trying to explain. very nice. thank you.

    i have been enjoying your Mod T videos I' m currently doing the same job . I'm at the point of installing the magneto, and I find that the KR Wilson tool is no longer available. I have looked every where. My question is how critical are these measurements and is there another wary?

    • @Gen3AntiqueAuto
      @Gen3AntiqueAuto  3 месяца назад +1

      Off the top of my head and you should look it up - 0.030" clearance is what you want. You can do it without the tool, just takes longer. Do JUST the flywheel and spare your back, build the transmission on it when it's done.

    You should have twisted the wire between the bolts so that they want vibrate and brake plus it looks nicer.

    Hello Gen III Antique Auto
    With wat torque (Nm) are the four screws of the flywheel screwed onto the engine ?
    Thank You very much for Your help !!

    • @Gen3AntiqueAuto
      @Gen3AntiqueAuto  3 месяца назад +2

      I would guess about 40-45 ftlbs. "tight" then wired so they can't move.

    Why are there fan blades on the flywheel?

    • @Gen3AntiqueAuto
      @Gen3AntiqueAuto  2 месяца назад +1

      that's the "oil pump"

    • @Iowa599
      @Iowa599 2 месяца назад +1

      Oh, shit…"combined oil pan"…I forgot that part. That "pump" has to drag lots of power!
      The transmission is pretty clever. Like the precursor to the Hydra-matic, missing the hydraulic coupling (tq convertor) & actuators.
      I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen an Arduino/servo kit that will operate a Model T transmission "automatically".
