This man knows more about the Model A drivetrain than I know about myself. Fantastic demonstration!

A moderator on one of forums made a big deal out if using those bearings. He said if you remove a seal on one side you could damage the bearing or contaminate it. “A human hair could ruin the bearing” guys chimed saying they’ve been doing for 30 years and no problems. His response was some people smoke for 30 years and never get cancer. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️. I did mine exactly as this guy did. Thanks for the video, very helpful.

Very comprehensive overview of the major and minor points involved in rebuilding a Model A transmission plus information on a number of newly engineered parts designed to improve performance and minimize leakage. Nothing seems to be left out for those who want to do a first class job.
Henry would be proud of you John.

Mr Karla, I really enjoy your videos. I drove a ‘30 Model A every day for 7 years as my work car. I belonged to MARC/MAFCA San Diego. Even so, there were very many things I never learned to do since I was a low-paid enlisted man during those 7 years. I never overhauled a transmission. Your instructions are very clear, succinct and concise. But my 74-year-old eyes aren’t very good and I can’t see through your hands. Would it be possible for you to use a pointer, wooden, plastic, laser or otherwise, to point out things in deep, dark places? Thanks for your consideration, Bob

I really liked your video except for one small thing. When I was in high school automotive shop back in the early 70's, my shop teacher always said "screwdrivers are for screwing screws in & out" and nothing else. He would have turned over in his grave if he saw you using a screwdriver as a (rubber) mallet. ;-)

I have gearboxes that use 90w, 90-140, 90EP, 90 PEG, and Iso220. All are different and the wrong oil will eat a gearbox at varying rates from a hour to weeks.
And it is a Model A transmission. You could use mud if you wanted.

Thanks your video is a good source of information...However, some things are left unexplained leaving the novice to figure it out...and that can be a huge disadvantage if a person wants to get EVERyTHING RIGHT. I suppose a person can only spend so much time doing one of these videos.... There are some critical things that are skipped over... In any case, Thank You so much!!!
