Would definitely help a lot more people than the constantly revolving door of psychologists. That’s probably the worst problem is the constant reliving of the trauma because one can’t just get the same therapist that already knows and can keep a consistent treatment plan.
Listen folks, former Officer here. Stop telling your kids they aren’t good enough to be an Officer. This guy had prior Enlisted experience in two career fields, gutted out a degree while in service, and was decorated. I have no doubt he would have made a fine Officer and literally made twice the income, but his dad tore him down. Don’t do that, Officers are just people that shouldn’t be on an unrealistic pedestal.
Plus it's not like there's a penalty for trying to get commissioned. What's the worst that can happen, they say no and you walk back to the enlistment office like you originally planned? May as well give it a shot.
As both a former enlisted and former officer in the Navy, I can say without question that there are many officers who shouldn't be let out of the house, let alone be in command of anyone or anything - but they have a college degree and someone agreed to let them in. We really need to end quotas and focus on quality. But yes, I'm also a combat-wounded disabled veteran and this guy is great. I have no doubt that he would have been a fine officer and certainly could have been an asset in leading men, if for no other reason than he'd already been there and done that, and that's what a lot of it is.
he could add to his TED-talk that his dyslexia was truly his kryptonite... and superpower! (Look it up!) There are A LOT of successful people who have it!

You're a true man of character Sir. Your sense of humor and faith will see you through. May God bless you and your family. Thank you for your service and your love for our country.
Cool to hear about the 3 services, it is rare. My dad did WWII in the Army Air Corps when it was a thing. The Korea in the Army (82nd). Then did over 20 more in the Air Force with 5 years in SE Asia. And then all of his kids picked a service and spent some time as well. Always good to hear an uplifting story from someone avoiding the dark side.
300 seconds... Great way of thinking about it, it's how I dealt with my anxiety/panic attacks...Set a timer, listen to music and just deal with it. #PainIsInevitable
I followed the same exact path brother. US Air Force Enlisted & NCO; US Marine Corps Officer; US Army Officer. From 1981 to 2005 and retired. I gave it everything I had and left nothing in the tank- been in many war zones. Lost a lot of cousins, friends and family. Even my 3 sons served in war time. We’ve sacrificed it all to live freely. Much respect to any man or woman who answers the call to duty.
This guy needs to work at the VA. He speaks the language. He could help so many people.

God bless you sir. Thank you sincerely for your service. ❤❤
God’s got your back!
Great inspirational talk.
Lots of fun, great set. Thank you so much for making my family’s freedom possible. We love you and America.
One of the best and funniest! I cried at the end 🥹🥰
This man's the definition of "I live my life a quarter mile at a time" I respect Will, he's got more guts than glory
Best TED talk I ever watched.
Such a likeable guy - his life story in 8 minutes, very positive outlook !
Thank You Brother HOOAH.
300 seconds... Great way of thinking about it, it's how I dealt with my anxiety/panic attacks...Set a timer, listen to music and just deal with it. #PainIsInevitable
He finally realiz🤣🤣ed his calling was Comedy, because that "S**" was funny!
Part comedy part motivation. Wow man. What a career!
