  • Have you ever wondered what your vision looks like after having laser vision correction with blended vision?
In this animation video, Dr Dylan Joseph shows you how blended vision works and its positive effects on your vision. Remember, blended vision uses laser eye surgery to treat one eye for distance vision and the other for close-up distances. After surgery, both laser-corrected eyes will work together, ‘blending’ their focus to give you a wider range of vision. it is a treatment that is primarily used for a condition called presbyopia, but it can also be used for people who are short-sighted (myopia) or far-sighted (hyperopia) and who also may have astigmatism.
For most of our patients, it has been a really liberating experience. They now have great binocular vision for driving, looking at the computer, and reading.

Thanks Dr. Joseph for excellent explanation! Blended vision sounds like a smart idea.
One question, is Blended vision same as partial monovision? I am 51 M with high myopia/astigmatism/presbyopia, I did a consultation with a well known eye surgeon recently for RLE, in stead of trifocal PanOptix lenses (which is what I was hoping to get), he recommend use monofocal toric IOL with partial monovision on nondominant eye at -1.25D. Sounds to me that is like blended vision. Will this arrangement reduce the chances of me needing glasses for near distance vision?
