I’ve never made grape jelly , but if God is with me I will be making grape jelly from watching you. I am 89years old now. God bless you.. We used to fish at Cedar creek lake in the 70s and 80s. I still have many friends who live at Cedar Creek. I love your shows
If you have a wooden spoon , you just put the wooden spoon across the pan and it will not boil over . My nephew gave this tip a few years ago and it definitely works. I have been making jelly since 1957, 65 years . Last month (July 2022 ) I made Plum,Peach, Blueberry and Strawberry. God has been good to me all my life.
I'm getting baptized Sunday , I've started going to Pentecostal church for 5 months, but I've been going to church all my life . would you pray for me.
I saw in a recent video that you said you were going to make jelly from bottled juice. I cant believe that i never thought to do that, i always use fresh berries and make jam. Well I had a whole case of mixed berry juice that I needed to get used, actually it was out of date but still good so I went ahead and made 16 pints of jelly with it. Thank you so much for that idea!! 💝👍👍💝
This is how I learned to make jelly, grandchildren favs are blackcherry/pomegranate, and mango from the bottle. And freash BlackBerry which is more complicated. Thank you for sharing. It would cost my daughter 60.00 for school lunches. Brown bags this year! I agree small batch at a time.
I’ve been wanting to make grape jelly from bottled juice. Thank You so much!! I know I can feel confident making the jelly after watching your video! Have a beautiful day!!!
I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. My son took peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in his lunch the whole time he was in elementary and jr high school. Now my one grandson loves it. I just got back into canning after 35 years and loving jellies. But don’t have grapes available can’t wait to try this. Thank you so much for your video!
Thanks for the detailed instructions. I always make jam, but will try making this jelly. I have the same pectin as you, now I need to get some grape juice.
Great video Josie I make this also for my family and when your jelly is boiling at the end instead of moving the pot over so it doesn’t over flow I blow on it and it works great.
That's right make use of what you got. Looks yummy for my diabetic self 😂😂. I will make but maybe a low sugar type. This one will be for family. Beautiful color as well. For the foam I freeze a ladle and let it stick to the bottom just touching the jelly.
Thank you Josie! What memories you brought back! My Mom (gone 15 yrs) made grape jelly the same way when we were kids on the farm. What a treat that we looked forward to. 😊💗 God bless you🙏💗
Hi Josie, enjoyed the video. I have never made jelly with juice like that, bur will have to try this. I have never used pectin either. As long as the fruit you are using has enough natural pectin in it, you don't need to. Apple has a lot of pectin, and I have added the juice from cooked down apples when I needed to add pectin to a recipe. Works great and doesn't make the jelly taste like apple.Making jelly without the pectin, you just need to boil it to the sheeting stage, where it sheets, not drops from the spoon. I will try this though. Thank you.
I wish I were closer because I have two gallons of juice from my grapes last year and I'm going to have a lot this year. I'm going to make jelly and juice for grandchildren. Blessings to your Family dear Josie here from north central Wisconsin
Thanks Josey. I'm going to make jelly from frozen juice. If I can find any with no sugar added. You reconstitute the juice and make the jelly the same way as you do with bottled juice. It's more economical using the frozen. I wish I had an Amish Store near me. I'll have to order my pectin online and the Hoosier Farm brand seems to be the best price. If I can make a decent jelly instead of syrup it'll be worth the $. The running joke in my family is that "Jan makes some really good fruit syrups". lol I've started saving up tp get a steam canner. Being on a fixed income it might take me a couple more months for the least expensive one unless I can find one at a flea market or yard sale. Baby Howie is growing like a weed! He'll be big enough to help around the farm before you know it. Much Love ❤
Thank you for this video very informative and the way you teach is wonderful. I made strawberry jam last week and it didn't set good, now I know why. I won't throw it out but will make sure I let sugar boil longer. God bless. I will be trying this also.
Walmart has honey crisp apple juice. I made some jelly with that. As you Walmart has some honey crisp apple juice. I made some jelly with that. It was so good. As you said, our grapes didn’t make due to the drought and Japanese beetles. I also bought frozen blueberries and blackberries and made some also. It all worked great and either way, we have jelly and jam in our pantry now sis Josie. Great video. Glad you’re letting others know how to stock up for winter and lean times.
@@CedarCreekHomestead grrrr They are very destructive and greedy little things. This has been a hard garden year, well, a hard homestead year in general for sooo many. We do all we can do sis and depend on the good Lord. He knows and he sees.

Hello Josie 😊 I was wondering if I could use Cherry or other bottled fruit juices, this way too. Baby Howie is cute as a Button 😍 . Thanks for this video 👍🏼 Keep'em coming. Bless you and your Family ❤
Beautiful jelly Josie. We dont have any apple orchards that I'm aware of here in the deep South do you think those plastic containers of applesauce can be canned into apple butter or just recanned into jars?
You would have to get the sure jel that is in the pink box or Pomona's Pectin. They are both formulated for low or no sugar recipes. You should still be able to make this recipe with those pectins.

My grandkids love this jelly. I’ve made it twice already. Little Howie is getting so big. What a handsome boy. Love you

Yes! You sure can. Just get the ones that are no added sugar. I want to can white grape and peach next.
This is my back up method as well
Thats what I used my left over wic juice for way back in the day. And you can get surejell on food stamps
👍👍💯💯

We were told no more peanut butter in schools. "Someone else may be allergic to your lunch"😟🤔🤨
Beautiful jelly Josie. We dont have any apple orchards that I'm aware of here in the deep South do you think those plastic containers of applesauce can be canned into apple butter or just recanned into jars?
You may be able to make apple butter but you would have to get no sugar added so you can adjust it for yourself and the recipe.
I make this, easy, just don’t let if boil over as I’ve done before, what a mess! It’s very good though!
Thank you.. I didn't know was so easy! Can I make it with Splenda?
You would have to get the sure jel that is in the pink box or Pomona's Pectin. They are both formulated for low or no sugar recipes. You should still be able to make this recipe with those pectins.
Do I have to use sugar I'm a diabetic I can't have it do you think it would thicken if I didn't use the sugar
@Sama Holderfield, there is a no sugar added surejell available, just follow the directions that comes in the box.
@@sharonj7234 Thank you for this! I was about to ask the question until I saw the question from @Sama Holderfield :)
@@staceydoten845 you’re welcome, always happy to help and share info.
Try the no sugar added or lower sugar pectin. The box is pink and it will have an instruction sheet inside.
Are you using clear jel
I use fruit pectin which is the same as sure jel only in bulk
Baby Howie needs some measuring spoons ...lol
