The things you can do with this combat system is incredibly strange. If you skip a character's turn, it will give your other characters more actions. It will also sometimes skip enemy's turns. It's kind of wild when you think about it
I picked this up for my old 360 and have been loving the combat! it's a lot to take in all at once and I had to read the manual multiple times during my early battles but once you get the hang of it, blasting out a whole bar of scratch damage while doing a backflip in the air is sooo satisfying

YEA BABY! RESONANCE OF FATE! Star ocean was 🔥. I like almost all their games 😊. Happy to see this game is getting more attention. This video rules and the takes are agreeable I also thought Resonance of Fate's story was bazaar but I'm still odly drawn to its uniqueness hahaaaaaaa.
This game has what I consider to be Charles Martinet’s best vocal performance (or at least dramatic performance) in the character Lagerfeld. His loss of faith over Zephyr’s actions in the past and seeking justice is really interesting, and his speech to Zephyr calling him out was really well-done on Martinet’s part. I wish the character had more screen time, he seems like he should be one of the main antagonists but he isn’t.
I own every version of this incredibly unique game, including the Japanese. I love it so much but I admit and agree with you that the story is really badly paced and told to the player. I also never ever felt bored. I’m also surprised this got a remaster and Valkyrie Profile 2 did not, but I’ll keep wishing for it to happen. Maybe in 2023.
I stumbled upon this game on one of the last PS3 deals of the week/month. Looking at the cover was enough for me to buy it. I was NOT disappointed at all. Loved the characters, loved the soundtrack (same composer for Gravity Rush) and ofc loved the combat as its something way different than other jrpgs. I didnt get much of the story, I even forgot what the game was about because I was trying to complete the arena and get all 50 ranks, which absorbed most of my time spent with the game. That and the secret dungeon. Overall, I'm glad it got a remaster and more people get to play it. I was not too happy with the little tweak they did to the camera while in combat but im just being nitpicky.
battle was unique for me. I like characters due to familiar voice actors. Back in Ps3 there were alot of jrpgs that are very experimental. Time and Eternity for ps3 its like a hand drawn 2d animation as mechanics
I love your narration and story telling. As for this game, I drop it after played around 30% of story. Because game's mechanic is too hard and depend on RNG to hit the enemy. The world map is add more complicate by hex block. Enjoy part in this game is gun customization. Maybe in future I may try it again.

I was a bit confused with the story however so your explanation helped. Damn shame there aren't more gun-fu games like this. RoF's innovative combat system has kept me entertained for tons of hours. For similarly brilliant combat systems I heartily recommend Tri-Ace's masterpiece Valkyrie Profile 2, for me it was worth buying a PS2 for. Unfortunately they never gave that one a HD remaster like they gave to RoF.
Found out about this game though project X zone 2 on the 3ds where there were a bunch of characters from others games and the mcs were playable. Eventually picked it up on the ps3 and loved it but the combat was pretty tough to master at first.

Never expected this game to be as popular as some claim actually. Idk just felt it was a bit like "Valkyria Chronicles" where it was forgotten but got some resurgence of popularity through a rerelease

I always just felt like, outside of the bullet time the game is boring. They never ever gained anything interesting. No special moves, no summons, no nothing just bullet time and pistols or SMG. It got so boring after chapter 4 I just gave it up cuz I knew there wasn't much more to look forward too.
Understandable. Yea that was one of the main issues I had too. Guess they were just running out of time or didn’t know how to add more to the battle system 😅
Wild arms uses gun and magic n sword.. But the game got boring after new release.. I never experience such awesome game as resonance.. A new level of leveling, battle and costumization on guns.. Which will never ever happen in real life.. Who uses 2grip with 4 clip and 4scopes.. With 3barrel over another barrel🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Found out about this game though project X zone 2 on the 3ds where there were a bunch of characters from others games and the mcs were playable. Eventually picked it up on the ps3 and loved it but the combat was pretty tough to master at first.

The opening scene at the beginning was😂😂but still it was interesting 🤨 and it took me a while to get use to the battle mechanics 😐
