As an ex-WOT player with 40k matches, the artful arty win, and Black Prince careful battle ship maneuvers made for quite an enjoyable vid!.
As a fellow ex-WOT player with 35k+ hours I salute you sir and or madam. Also what was your final reason for "retiring?"
@@smoke8715 'final reason' *exactly!.* My fav tank was the T110E4 with which I had a 60% wr. Not only were the EBR 105 _consistently bouncing_ every ammo type I fired, they were then able to easily take me out. When my T110E4 wr% dropped from 60% to 59% due directly to the EBR 105, I bailed from WOT with extreme prejudice.

Only reason why i did not quit is because because i played since Bata for a monthplus 2500 battles but i stopped putting money into this game like 5 years ago. Premium rounds and auto aim just kills this game... been bitching for over 11 years now... Premium should only be for tier 10 only and auto aim come on... game needs skill... there is none when there is Premium rounds and auto aim

While playing this, I was giving the Super Hellcat the benefit of the doubt like "ok, maybe he's flipped sideways." There is an angled pipe where he was, so it's feasible that physics did what physics does. We used the freecam mod and, no he was just sitting next to it. The tank crew probably got carbon monoxide poisoning and died, or something along those lines...

Knew the moment it switched to the Black Prince I wondered, "How are you going to pull a win outta your ass?" Because we all know, if it's a bad tank for the replay, there is likely to be some spectacular idiocy on the part of both teams.

The fact that a 77mm HE even managed to do 3 damage and killed the Tier 9 Heavy Tank by shooting it at the turret.
It is guaranteed to do at least 1 with the new changes
Caenarvon is one of, if not THE best standard tier VIII heavy in the game. So yes, you do have a lot to look forward to

Definitely wasn't my experience of it back in the day. Either it's been buffed since then, or maybe the new maps support it better.. if I recall, it had a not too bad turret, but the body was ridiculously big and nowhere near as tanky as the black prince. If there are better hull down spots, would help for sure
After the buffs it's good, before the buffs it was a turd on tracks. Back then it had a mediocre turret, unreliable UFP and bad DPM just way way worse Tiger 2.
Yea for real, my highest average battle statistic tank on my account. Absolutely loved playing the caernarvon. The trick is just trying to keep it in positions where you can take advantage of the turret and dpm without being turned to dust by repeated artillery bombardment.
Dear Jingles, you forgot to make mention of the biggest draw factor the Black Prince has: the fact that it has a badass metal name like the BLACK PRINCE!
No joke, all those years ago, the reason I got into this game wasn't because of the Tiger, wasn't because of the Panther, wasn't because of the Sherman, no I got into World of Tanks because I just had to own a tank with a name like Black Prince because that is the most badass sounding name for a tank in the entire goddamned world. Never mind that the tank was terrible (I didn't know anything about tanks at the time) and, even worse, there's never been a 'black' version of it. (Seriously WG? There's a Lowe Black, a T-34 Black, a Schwarzpanzer, an IS-6B, but you couldn't bother to make a black version of the ONLY tank that came packaged standard with BLACK in its name???!!!)
The British are just good at badass names. I’ve always adored that the tier 9 heavy is called Conqueror. Just the sound alone is a sign of impending doom. So cool.

@@NavGTI But unlike the Black Prince, the Conqueror is actually a solid vehicle. The only way the 'Black Prince' could live up to its name would be to justify it by saying "well, more often than not, it's charred black from the fires caused by it exploding, so I guess it's accurate..."
Its named after Edward of Woodstock... the Black prince .. of the plantagenet line .. I think he wore black armour, so the name... and considered one of the greatest knights to ever live and sadly dying before his father King Edward III .. and his psycho brother became the king and screwed up everything

The caernarvon is a very very VERY strong tier 8 heavy since the buffs. It's most definatly worth going through the god awful black prince.
I cannot believe that BP did that. Are you SURE it wasn't just a skin over a better tank? lol That was totally worth watching.

Going to put it out there, a bouncing- 5K-damage game is impressive no matter what tier you're in. Plus, after Tier 7, the AP starts getting so god-awful high that armor thickness really doesn't matter much anymore, it's just how you angle it.
Also, nice shot from the arty at the end. Not many can get a 680 damage shot on a tier 9, no matter what arty they run.
Yeah it looked like a penetration to the engine deck or something. Hella lucky dice roll.

Thinking to myself that most WoT players can count the number of times they've managed to bounce that much in anything on one hand.
Thank you, Jingles and thank you Incoming. What we saw in this replay here, is *exactly* what I have seen, every time I have taken some of my slower tanks out. And all those times, I have had people say: "You only have 46% win-rating, and 400 wn8, you are a chain on your team's angle with these stats", I can now reply, "yeah well, at least I do TAKE what ever battle I get thrown in my face and play it to the best of my ability, and not like we saw the Super Hellcat, do in this replay, just leaving the battle, like you for example would have done as well. My stats, might not be the best, but, I'll try to get the best out of what I have!" I guess also a bit of a thank you to the SuperHellcat player, for showing his example. Incoming, it was well played. On a level, where I could have seen myself in most of what you did. Well fought, well played and well done.
Those who just think they can carry all the time and fail abysmally at doing it.
Players, confidence, is a good thing. But overconfidence, will bite you in your butts! We have seen it before, and we will see it again, no doubt. The T25/2, is a great example as how I play my tanks. I don't need gold in a tier 9 match. I do fine without
Playing the best you can and actually enjoying the game is what it's all about. A lot of people seem to forget that.

Excellent! Knew you’d get a good laugh out of the arty Kolabanov Jingles. We’ve seen some pretty good game throws lately on the Asian server but this one even left us stunned for a couple minutes afterward.
I enjoyed playing the Black Prince back in the day. And I have YOU to thank for it Jingles! After watching your Master Class video on angling and side scraping in the BP. Yeah!
Actually Jingles, the Caernarvon is one of the best tier 8 heavies. Great DPM, good turret armor and 280 alpha isn't all that bad considering the great rate of fire.
Honestly the best thing about this replay is how polite the guy was, at least from what I saw. He realised he didn't win alone and that the artillery helped him in a few key moments, I love that.
Funny enough, the arty's name translates to goldenpig from Finnish kultapossu, take it as you wish XD

@@Hassy171717 Gold ammo has been removed from all non-premium artillery ever since the latest rework. But don't worry, WG has thought of that and artillery earnings post-match have dropped off by quite a margin, so he probably still didn't make much money out of it. I haven't seen a tier X artillery in over a month.
Jingles please catch up with the game. Caernarvon is one of the best t8s with the best dpm of any t8 heavy with over 2500dpm.
Back when I played it though.. it's not a heavy, other than being slow. It's a big chonky medium, pretty much, isn't it? The only good bit of it was the turret and the gun, and if you weren't hull down, you were gonna bite it

@@FluffyDragon When the FV215b was replaced with the Super Conqueror, the Conqueror and the Caernarvon were both buffed. The Caernarvon is easily one of the strongest T8 tech tree heavies.
@@FluffyDragon it changed they dropped the actionx turret and went back to the boxy one (250mm flat front) gun changed to 32pounder 94mm, 280dmg, 9rounds p.m. Squishy t8 heavy with t9 medium gun. It's somewhat of a hidden gem.
It's good to watch an occasional WoT replay and remind yourself why you quit the game in the first place 😁

I've gotta be like the only person here who played the Black Prince has a 70% winrate in it in over 30 battles and genuinely enjoyed the vehicle. The turret armor is absolutely astonishing especially when you cant see tier 10 tanks
I actually used to have a lot of fun in the Black Prince. Then again, that was 5 years ago. I recognize that back then it wasn't a good tank to begin with, but it wasn't too bad. Now with powercreep, the gun is abysmal in terms of penetration, and I imagine even I wouldn't appreciate as much anymore.
I haven't played WoT in over 3 years but i remember the Caernarvon being one of my favourite tier 8's and i was doing quite well in it. Slow but with reliable armour and a fast firing, high penning gun. One could say it was suitable to my play style.
My first Kolobanov's Medal was in the G.W. Panther, but it was assault on Sand River. I haven't seen assault on that map in years.

I just watch Jingles and rewatch my collection of clips from years ago when I sniped Chaffees with my 15cm Japanese howitzer or nailed Stug III G's on the move in my KV-2.

I personally love the black prince, how it looks and how it plays too, i got a few master badges in it
The Churchill and Black Prince will always be my most favourite tanks ever. I made it my business to get one on WoT when it first came out and it was always my most successful tank😎
Hey Jingles, the GSOR has a four round auto loader with 320 alpha and a shit ton of pen on both standard and gold, the only reason Incoming didn’t get blasted like the Hood is because the GSORs an idiot and didn’t have a full mag
The Caernarvon, when I played it when it had the 20 pounder, I described it as a reverse MBT, it combined the mobility of a heavy tank with the firepower and protection of a medium.
The SD black prince, before they updated it, I found it to be extremely good, but it needed to be played in a very specific way.
Fun fact for the PC players here:
The Black Prince on console recently got buffed. However it’s buffs were only to its hull armor and it’s speed. I forgot how much the front armor got buffed, but they gave it a new maximum speed of 25 km/h, which with the right equipment added can go up to 28 with some good hull rotation speed to boot.
Unfortunately they didn’t buff the other weaknesses on the tank the low penetration on its gun (seriously, it can barely go through the front of a VK 100.01 P’s hatch at the front with premium), the armor spots under the tracks at the front, and the fact that some tanks can easily just go through the front of its turret by just loading the gold. And ironically enough most of the tanks that did that were either tier VII or VIII. Barely any of the tier XI I’ve faced penetrated my turret.
The Black Prince is still power creeped of course, especially since new premium heavy tanks like the Dreadnaught KV-2 (a tier VII KV-2 with a much better 152 mm gun that is a little more accurate than the standard one and heat shells that just don’t care about most tanks it’s gonna fight, among other things) came along and make playing tier VII tech tree heavies aside from a few exceptions harder to play. But luckily with Tanks Reforged, where a bunch of tech tree tanks in the game get buffs to various degrees, these tanks can finally compete with the new kids on the block.

I actually like the Black Prince. It kinda grew on me after spending so long grinding it out on the way to the Caernarvon. Then again, this was long, long ago, back when the British Tier X Medium was the FV4202. And I'll admit, watching Jingles' vidoes back then did make always pack in some HE and I did get kills with those, the most memorable of which was doinking a HE round on a 9HP Tiger's commander's hatch while I was in the VK 30.02(D).

I remember watching an old video on the BP about when I started playing this game, probably also from Jingles. It was the video I learned the concept of side scraping in, and with my pretty much non-existing experience at the time I thought the BP looked to be a really good tank that even had the potential to fight off multiple enemies as long as it had a corner to work with. Some half year later I got it for myself, and boy how wrong I was...
It is a completely omega great super tank which is balanced for like tier 12, and easily eats enemies faster than any broken premium tank. As demonstrated in this video.

there is one thing you can say about the churchill black prince: it looks so goddamn cool, one of the most aesthetically pleasing tanks in the game
I'll bet that Incoming's first name is Dave. It's a special game to win at tier 9 with that thing. It's like living through a battle with a Churchill GC.
My only Kolobanov medal (sans yellow ribbons IIRC) came in very similar circumstances to the first game shown. I was in French artillery, the only player left and against 7 enemies on the same map in a defence mission and they didn't have enough time to cap. It's the most French victory I have been part of in WOT.

Caernarvon is probably one of the best tier 8 heavies! It got buffed, its gnow got the same reload as before but 280 alpha now

I actually enjoyed the Black Prince and Canaervon when I played them (stock ground both), but then again that was about 9(?) years ago when power creep wasn't as bad.
BP was a mediocre but usable tank when it came out, the power creep ever since then made it a complete joke. At least WG buffed the Cearn so that now you have good T8-10s to look forward to.
I remember bouncing shot galore when it came out. Having great games because no one used gold back then (it cost gold). The gun was terrible, but when you could outtrade anyone except IS you got great games all the time.
Sadly, power creep ruined the game for me. Also, the toxic community in itself.

I actually like the BP for some perverse reason, it just kinda looks and feels good to me.... also my best win rate in any heavy tank...

13:26 reminds me of a battle in my KV 1, a T25/2 on the enemy team was spamming gold, but by angling my butt armor at an auto-ricochet angle, he couldn't pen me, and I had the rest of my tank protected by a building. However, he kept shooting gold rounds at my KV 1's butt, failing to pen every single time because it was angled at more than 70°. Sadly, he got killed, so I couldn't laugh for longer.

The Caernarvon is one of the best T8 heavies hull down, it got pretty buffed with some nice dpm, genuinely a nice heavy to play nowadays
It's just a pity that grinding to the Caernarvon requires suffering through 3 Churchills in a row.
I actually liked playing the BP. When I was top tier it was great and when I wasn't, it wasn't great, but I was still able to have fun in it and do well enough.
I'm waiting for one of these tank titled videos to actually be a warships video once played. The old man's bound to do it one day 🤣

I got a Kolobanov in almost the same way as the SPG. In AT7, and they all decided to abandon the cap and come to kill me. Unfortunately, they were all lights and meds and failed to pen me before time out... As Klaus would say, "A win is a win."

I have a Kolobanovs in a french arty the same way as that GW got his. I was getting shot up at the end and just made it to cover and the game timed out before i could be killed.
Enough sarcasm drips from Jingle's commentary of this one to float a light cruiser...
I got my one and only Kolobanov's medal on Karelia defend battle. I was having a horrible battle in my Tortoise and only did about 250 dmg and was the last one left and was just about to be overrun by 6 enemies.... and the timer ran out. I was so distracted I didn't realize I'd won until the end battle stats came up.
I loved the Canarveron. Mostly because it wasn't the black prince, but it still had good DPM, good pen, the gun was accurate, and it was 100X more flexible than the BP.
I LOVED my caern though. It felt WAY better than the BP. Like a british t32. Hull down and you're golden
No Jingles, it does not make you a bad person. Anyone who says otherwise can go swimming and forget to surface for air.
I used to run the Black Prince a lot. I never had any issues with it. The British heavy line really spoke to me, with the exception of the Carnarvon. I personally think that people give many tanks a good or bad rap forgetting that not everyone is the same. I have a witness to me scoring a damaging hit on a tier ten tank. The final gun for the BP is great, has one of the faster reloads for the British heavies and with a gun rammer makes it better. Yes the speed sucks, and the armor has been affected by power creep bad. I also play on Xbox, so there's that, but I like the BP.
I had ONE good game in the Black Prince and it was the last 100xp I needed for the Caernarvon. It almost made me want to play the Black Prince again.....almost.

he outmanuevered the Phase 1 at the end masterfully, intentionally or not. Put him right in the crosshair of the arty. Well done in any way.

A pro of the Black Prince is it looks awesome. I love the rugged brick look and would gladly keep a model of this tank on my shelf.
