      Same, but different. I haven't played WoWships in about 1.5 years. I watched Jingles videos before I played, while I played, and since I've quit. About the only other one I watch videos on regularly is Potato Quality, because they don't just do a video of them being exceptionally good (or bad in the case of Jingles), but they explain WHY what the player did was good (or bad).
      And it's always amusing for Jingles to be Jingles.

    Back when i played WoT i remember having many good games in this tank and other deeply mediocre tanks. Not because i'm a good player (i'm not) but because i play more carefully in mediocre tanks and the enemy doesn't pay as much attention to you. They think they're safe because i'm in a mediocre tank so they make more mistakes and i can punish them for it because i'm being extra careful.

      I had one amazing arty game on that map, took out an enemy Centurion with two or three shells, and he wasn't spotted the entire game. First shell missed the intended target (a T-54 if I don't misremember) and went into an unseen tank behind him, then as the rest of the enemy team died the unspotted Cent was the last tank remaining, so I figured that if I were an idiot camping the entire game I'd be hiding in the bush line just next to the red line. My guess is more that people don't like the lack of versatility that comes with not having a turret.
      Back when I played WoT, I was the oddball that hated the turreted US TD's but loved the turretless ones mostly because I just function better when in a specialized vehicle.
      I really preferred the slow, fearsome roadblock that is the T95 because while the T30 has that easy, comfy turret which makes it faster and about as tough when hulldown, but has to sacrifice a immense amount of gun-handling for it.
      And why bother about hiding the hull or when to fall back when you can have the ease of the Doomturtle lifestyle of picking whatever direction has the fewest allies or is perfect for the vehicle, and just go. T95 doesn't retreat, T95 doesn't care about hulldown, T95 doesn't care about peek-a-boom. T95 just goes, shoots and keeps going forward at camping-pace.
      Of course now with the excessive OP ROOSKIE GOLD META why play anyways when your 2 biggest strengths are useless against what you're likely to fight anyways?

      @@MrMeeHigh1 Not if you know the map. Been a while since I played so this could be outdated, but on the more wide-open maps, the T95 is low enough that, especially with investment, you can actually use concealment and viewrange to force enemies to either duck in cover(since a lot of players tend to hide when they get shot at), or will flee outright.
      It was a rare situation where enough enemies would charge you to become a problem.
      Plus the only armor on the T95 that is absolutely terrible is the rear, sides will bounce, unless its gold, T10 AP or well aimed by someone who knows what to aim for.

    I didn't quite like the T25/2 because of the mediocre penetration and gun handling. You basically have to go second line and not snipe or you will mostly miss.
    I loved the APCR penetration tho, which is kind of overkill compared to the standard penetration.
    But when I went the other TD line.. wow! the T25 AT is god tier with the 105mm. I loved the Jagdpanther so I felt right at home there
    But i generally think Tier 7 is kind of a shit tier before tier 8 as many tanks at this tier are mediocre or complete garbage (especially the IKV 90b, A-44 or T-34-1 with their dogshit gun handling, SPIC, Black Prince or the Carro P88)
    The only good or decent tier 7 tanks are T29, Tiger I, Jagdpanther, IS, Challenger and SU-100M1.

    I played both to completion just recently, the T25/2 & T25 AT and I'll have to admit, the T25/2 felt better to play.
    However, I looked at my stats and discovered that they are very similar in performance (at least in my hands). Both took 26 games to research the next tank, both have exactly the same winrate 69.23%, the avg dmg and xp differ in favor of the T25/2 though. T25/2 had 1231 dmg and 838 xp, AT had 1203 dmg and 821 xp. And the last but not least plot twist, the AT had better K/D ratio of 2.62 versus T25/2's 2.33. Almost forgot, I did ace the T25/2 but didn't the AT, just a 1st Class for that.
    Sooo, I don't know, I'll have to say that I had the same feelings as Jingles, the T25/2 felt more consistent while the AT was just awkward to play, I remember the 90mm's to be horribly inaccurate on that and the 105mm was somehow more accurate? Must some soft stats thingy.

So just "WHAT" r they trying to do? ALL they r doing is making enemies by thinking we are believing that shit. This is a GAME people! You CANNOT make tanks "fair"!
    Can anyone explain what wot means by "rebalancing" because how can you make guns equal?? It's insane.
    "Balance" is just crap. With these nerfs and buffs, wargamming is trying to please everybody, and you know as well as I that you Can Not do that. Let's face it, all they are "worried" about is their bottom line and to hell with anything else.

    I did well in the T25/2, average XP 785, Average DMG 1110. WR? 44% I think I found it just wasn't mobile enough to make up for the lacklustre gun, so you'd end up out of position trying to react and the gun sucks at range, all the damage happens when the enemy team is piling on because you couldn't get where you needed to be in time. For that gun and armour, I'd expect it to drive like a Chaffee, not a KV-1.

    The T25/2 was the first tank I ever 3-marked, I completely understand what you're saying Jingles, it shouldn't be any good, but it somehow is. Hellcat was fun, fast and good (I think after some nerfs) but going from 72 km/hr top speed to 56km/hr top speed (tier 7, american TDs) and then reducing your P:W ratio from 22.7 to 18 or 16, it is painful AF.
    Then getting that T28 protype that then halves all the mobility with a marginal gun to ok gun; it feels bad. This one was reason to stop playing the game when the grind is this bad.

    My only guess is that Jingles is baiting for comments with this terrible gameplay :D
    For people who actually want some tips:
    - You basically never take Camo-net on any of your tanks. It's one of the most useless things, unless you're a passive scout;
    - Moreover, he should've taken Binoculars instead of Camo-net. That would probably enable him +30-40% more XP as he's grinding the tank, not to mention clutching some situations;
    - Extremely bad choice of position at the start of the map. I can think of 2-3 positions, where he could've supported that Scorpion G (who shouldn't have really been there), putting 1-2 shots at the start of the match (and ran away), which would've accumulated to a better result + more odds at the end of the match. Such positioning reminds me of red-line campers, who never get stuck into the game in order to learn what's what, or just play artillery most of the time.
    - Moreover, considering there was only 1 arty, had he went over with that Scorpion into that position, he probably would've killed that P44.Pantera. T25/2 has enough gun depression and turret armor to make some cheeky peeks. It's not a given, but that's a possibility. That position is suicide most of the time, but otherwise - really important for this side of the spawn.
    It kind of seems that he used all his brainpower to make that nickname, there was very little left for actually playing the game. It really hurt watching this, but I guess once in a blue moon it's interesting to see another thank on Jingles channel, other than a KV-2 :D
    And T25/2 is an amazing machine, mostly of the gun handling. Skill4ltu also loves it.

    Yeah after forgoing the turreted TD line for the better paper stats of the casemate TD's, I DEEPLY regretted my choice after hitting the T25AT. I'd go so far as to say it was a worse grind and a more unpleasant experience overall than even the Lee/Grant. Moving up to the T28 was a real breath of fresh air (even with its awful speed). I even had a fantastic T28 replay to send you but the file got corrupted. 5k damage, 1.3k base exp, beat an AMX 50 100 1 on 1 to win. *sigh* i wish the replay hadnt fucked up

    I don't think Jingles has played the Sturer Emil, the 25/2 might be mediocre, but the SE is just trash. it has the same stealth and mobility as a maus, and the same effective armor as a loltractor. you're better off slinging gold out of the 105 rather than "upgrading" to the useless 128. so you're effectively a worse Dicker Max at tier7, and no one has ever accused the DMax of being a fun TD to play.

    The T25/2 has a good bit of mobility, not too much. It’s got odd armor on front turret but not too much to slow it down, a decent enough gun but not too big. That’s what’s been in my head for that tank for a long time. Things in it that aren’t too good but also isn’t complete shit. I got through that tank rather quickly, albeit I saved some free XP so once I got a certain percentage for different upgrades I’d use a little to get it. Afterwards I kept the tank for a while because I worked on view range and camo. Seemed to be a great choice not that my particular stats were amazing in it nor because the teams carried me excessively. I’ve found it being able to bounce the shells from much much larger tanks and TDs cuz I stuck to areas where I could use the gun depression and would be able to backup just a bit to cause auto ricochet angles to be mostly the only angles that were presented. Out of all the tanks I’ve had which is pretty much every country up to tier 8 besides the Swedish meds, Polish and Italian tank lines I’m pretty confident in saying that T25/2 had weird moments of lucky bounces far higher in number in comparison to any other. Especially when compared to various tanks of a similar nature. A mid tier TD with medium turret armor, okay speed, okay gun, okay view and camo. Including some mediums that fall into the same kind of dynamic. I’ve had some really amazing moments of “Holy crap! Where did that come from? Where did I get hit? How much health did I just lose? What shot me? Is anyone else about to hit me and end me?” Only to realize it was a much bigger tank and gun that had shot me with the addition that the person who shot me bounced and I took zero damage. So yeah had a bunch of great games not as many as I’d like but for sure had some strange luck. A few of my friends had similar experiences with that tank. Maybe it’s just the mediocreness (Is that even a word?)of it that makes it somewhat enjoyable…? Hmm… idk.. 🤔
    Great vid!

    Jingles you pretty much gave the answer to your own question about the tank and all the good games you had at the end because of its mediocre stats people are going to play it more as a support tank and not do anything crazy because they'll just die badly plus enemies know its kind of meh so probably won't prioritise it compared to its counter part unless it's the only thing to shoot at
    (Tank destroyer with big gun rolls around corner
    Enemies: quick kill it kill it KILL IT WITH FIRE
    T25/2 rolls round same corner

    I've played the Hellcat, Jackson and T25/2, but gave up on them even though the Jackson was one of my favourite TD's. I love the sound when the 90mm shoots! Sounds like a gun should! I think they must have all been power creeped, the 90mm doesn't cut it like it used to. It misses frequently. I don't know why, but you have to "aim low," otherwise the shell just flies over the target. If you play a lot of tanks it takes a while to adjust your play to take that into account, thus making these TD's strictly for devotees who play them a lot.

    Considering the T25/2 is in-effect a fake tank (T25 Medium hull with an M36 turret slapped on it) put into the game to fill the gap between the M36 and the T28 Prototype (another fake tank). It having mediocre stats is rather par for the course. That being said most tier 7 tank destroyers are flawed in one way or another, the T-25/2 gets by due to having a turret and decent enough overall stats, though that being said I would much rather play a tier 7 medium if given the choice.

  • @Anders57292
    @Anders57292 3 года назад

    I think that, coming from the Hellcat, the underwhelming mobility of the T25/2 keeps you from doing stupid plays. That, and fairly good gun characteristics, is what makes it better than the numbers would suggest.

  • @subtlewhatssubtle
    @subtlewhatssubtle 3 года назад

    Jingles forgets he's historically a medium tank player, and that the T25/2 is much more flexible than the T25 AT is. Yes, the T25 AT has the bigger gun, better acceleration, better armor, and better concealment, but the T25/2 has the option of a turret and has better gun handling and shell speed. As such, his medium tank instincts probably served him better in the T25/2 than in the T25 AT.

  • @aboodyboi
    @aboodyboi 3 года назад

    Maybe if you compare the T-25/2 to the Hellcat it isn't much of an upgrade, but maybe that's just how powerful the design of the hellcat is, that even at tier 7 with minor changes, it's still good, that's my only explanation why on paper even compared to it's tier 7 counterpart the T-25 AT.

  • @Unther
    @Unther 3 года назад

    The secret of the T-25/2 over the T-25 AT is the turret. It allows flexibility that the T-25 AT simply doesn't have.

    the T25/2 and T25 AT, two of the WG "funnies", it should actually be the other way around and the T25/2 be armed by the 105mm T5 while the T25/23 AT be armed with the 90mm T15
    we obviously get them the way they are because of balance - it's weird but it does exist, at least within the US TT - since you can't have one with the firepower and the turret while the other has neither

  • @veeezis

    I enjoyed the T25/2. Got very good games in it. Could even bounce a lot by going hull-down and using the great gun depression to its fullest. Being an absolutely unremarkable machine, no-one ever expected it to be a real threat. That often let me do maneuvers that other more recognizable tanks would get instantly destroyed for. That, I think, is it's greatest advantage. Dangerously forgettable.

    Scorpion G can easily brawl in the city. I used to do that in it, all you need to do is plop around the corner after the enemy fires, deal 500 dmg and go back into cover. As a top tier it is incredibly effective because you can easily clear city and get long range shots later in the game.
    But whatever.

    Back in the day, the problem wasnt so much the 25/2 sucked - it was that the GUN sucked, The turret made up, largely but not totally, for the crap gun. A good loadout of gold rounds would let the tank generally hold its own, as long as it wasnt bottom tier. Unfortunately, especially nowadays, its been horrifically power creeped, and the gun is even worse than ever. Sad too, one of the very few tanks i gained two stars on the barrel with.

    My previous comment disappeared after I left a wot replay link in it.
    I got my 3rd MoE in this tank on this map in my 95th battle. It's on wotreplays with ID 5593103.
    From my experience, it's not a horrible tank if you have very good crew, good equipment and use food, which can apply to a lot of tanks. My goal is to have 445m view range without bino. After equipment 2.0, I do not use camo net any more. In open top TDs, I go for rotation mechanism, rammer and coated optics. On most maps, finding consealment is possible. I have had multiple battles in which I dealt more than 2k damage and spotted more than 1k.
    With that said, I do remember Challenger is a better TD than this with 40 more alpha damage at almost the same reload. Their gun handling and shell velocity are trading shots.

    Well T25/2 has a _turret._
    It has a good slewing rate too, it has quite nice mobility for the tier, and is surprisingly bouncy when in a good spot.
    The gun is good and doesn't really need to be better for what it meets. Good accuracy and aiming time.
    This all combined means it's easy to relocate, acquire targets, stay hidden, and hit (and pen) weakspots at long range.

    Truly amazing tanks inspire people to take risks. Bad tanks make the player overly cautious. A mediocre tank, meanwhile, forces a player to take calculated risks and nail the fundamentals if they want to carry a match. In short, good but not great players often get the best results in good but not great tanks. That’s my theory, at any rate.
