6:43 The armor system in S44 isn't bugged against infantry AT, its working as designed. Which is utterly baffling to me, and one of the main reasons I stopped playing after the armor overhaul. Seriously hope it changes. The only real viable way for infantry to kill tanks is to destroy either the engine or fuel, and hope that it starts a fire. If it doesn't, subsequent hits to components that are already destroyed will do zero damage (And will not start a fire either). Also AT rockets do not have a cone of internal damage, the damage only applies in a direct, straight line that does not penetrate very far into the tank. Magnetic mines are often VERY sensitive in their placement and satchels/TNT do very little hull damage.
Yep, the developers made it that way because tanks main were crying about getting destroyed for driving ahead of their infantry screen. D-Day is the worst because any experienced tanker knows the German has only infantry AT, so as the Americans, they will intentionally rush onto a point with their tank to cause havoc knowing full well that they can shurg off multiple HEAT rounds.
@@Normacly Why does every developer have to go through the same damn teething pains regarding vehicle balance? I'm not even in my 30s yet and I've seen this same pattern a million times. Tanks are too good, now they're too vulnerable, now they're too unwieldy, now their tank tracks are too fragile, now that we buffed vehicles across the board jeeps became OP on accident, let's revert that change, but wait now HEAT warheads are glitchy, etc. etc. Unless your game has Battlefield in the title, I just want the vehicles to act somewhat realistically, come on man.
@@matthewbrown3772 HEAT ammunition has worked this way since the AO and afaik its never been acknowledged or addressed by either dev team as a bug. Given that its been years since the AO with no sign of fix or change, its plenty safe to assume this was the intended implementation. That implementation is just so nonsensical that it may as well be a bug. Regardless there is no indication that it'll be changing so as of now, it doesn't even matter whether its considered a bug or not.
Just a heads up for anyone interested, 1FPS bug is fixed now, and there are some player based reports that the overall performance decrease is being caused by another bug, so hopefully it will be sorted out soon!
Its on sale right now we just need a lot more players the last Update was so huge you can really see that the devs that took over are putting a lot of work into this title.

The tanks are not bugged, in squad 44 tanks are component based not HP so to kill them you have to hit the weak spots and destroy 3 critical components. shooting the same spot 10+ times wont do anymore dmg unless you ammo rack it.

No it’s bugged, specifically all HEAT ammo. AT inf, field guns and tank rounds that are HEAT do not work as intended
