Very insightful, thank you. Your view on ball position accords to a large extent with Jack Nicklaus' method of ball position : keep it opposite left heel for all clubs but varying stance width depending on length of club.
The ball position and changeable stance width speaks volumes to me. I’ve never understood how you can possibly get the correct ball position out on a golf course depending on club being used without using some form of visual alignment. I play everything out of the centre of my stance and adjust my feet width in relation (only exception is driver). My feel on set up is left ear over the ball for every iron which keeps my centre point consistent. I even set up hitting my 17 degree hybrid out of the centre and the strike and consistency is remarkable. Since I’ve changed to using elements of stack and tilt I’ve seen not only an increase in distance but a completely different ball flight. The ball now starts low and continues climbing. Great video and well explained 👍🏻
This video was especially helpful to me. In the past I placed the ball based on where my back foot was (too wide a stance). I always felt like I had to strike the ball behind me. Only been doing the stack at tilt for a few weeks and scores have gone from mid 90’s to mid 80’s and am certain more improvement will continue - - FINALLY!! Thanks.
Yes thank you . Perfect timing heading for a round with my son now. Thank you. Just what i needed. I was to far off was kinda using this idea but you just made it so much easier to understand. Thank you !!!!
@@NickTaylorGolf well mate I didn't break 108 today. My short game killed me today. Chipping and Putting 😫😫😡😡🤬🤬I am hitting my driver and irons a lot better 😆😆. I need more practice . Now with this video Tomorrow back to the range and try this out. I was scared to try today as im ready to tee off. The pressure is hard enough. I only have been out 4 times this year and I only been golfing since July 4th 2020. Last time i went out I was 120 today 108. I am getting closer to breaking 100. Thank you to you mate. Thank you.
Great video Nick! How far do you stand from the ball for 7 iron and wedge? Some teachers say the hands should be a fist apart from the belt. Would really appreciate your take on this piece. Thank you!
Thanks Nick the video helps me understand that the wedges stance where the feet are closer together results in the shoulder being pushed more fwd to create a steeper angle of attack. So if the 2 centres ie sternum & hips for a 7 iron are over the ball then for the wedges, as the shoulder moves more fwd to create the steeper angle of attack , the sternum centre must be slightly ahead of the ball.
What is the loft of your wedge? Reason your carry was 89yards. Is this pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge or lob wedge? Your help is appreciated. Great video.
Nick, another great video. One question, when I am practicing on the range I am having problems with ball position. Do I set up with the ball on my left heel, than move the ball back? Thanks, Marcus
That was informative. I obviously need to narrow my stance with the wedge. I have been using the same degree of separation of my feet for all shots. Does this apply to 9 & 8 irons too?
Very insightful, thank you.

Ben Hogan was similar too

Great insight for me that as I change the width of my stance, I change the position of my shoulder and therefore the low point of the swing. Thanks

Thanks Nick, I was one who had asked for the adjustments made from an iron to a wedge...good stuff.
Thanks Bob, I hope this helps
Great golf tip thank you Nick for helping Alan and me
Thanks Anne 🙏
Great video, thanks Nick.
I’m currently in spain, and I booked 10 stack and tilt lessons starting on Monday, can’t wait!!! Time to play some consistent golf🤪
That’s awesome, good luck

Thanks for watching Rob

That’s a good guide Rajan, I would say I’m a fraction more away. I try and let my arm’s hang straight and the shaft to point at my belt
The release of power accumulator two on the wedge swing to shallow it out - is that deliberate?

Yes Jerry slightly
Thanks it makes more sense to me now & to take it to the next stage with the longer irons the sternum centre will be slightly behind the ball!
Maybe a fraction but mines close to the ball
Nick, would you say it feels like the arms move before the body in the S&T swing?

He said 54
I did briefly mention I was using a 54 degree wedge, thanks
do you have a video of how to find ballposition without the grid?
Ball position is a preference, you need to find which one works best for you Fredrik
Ball position along the club line grid or on target line
Nick, another great video. One question, when I am practicing on the range I am having problems with ball position. Do I set up with the ball on my left heel, than move the ball back?

Marcus
Thanks Marcus, use an alignment stick or club for a guide on the left heel and work back from there

Yes but only slight change, will be closer to 7 iron stance
@@NickTaylorGolf Got it!
What are you using to setup the swing lines on the turf?
Tee claws Russell
Do you put a little more weight on the left for the wedge?
No different to a 7 iron with the weight
