I can’t believe you’re apologizing for making the videos “long”. I could watch these for hours so please keep doing what you’re doing and thank you so much!!!
This channel is a massive treat for horror game fans. The reason why I like your content is because you understand that horror doesn't means only jumpscares, it's more than that. Rest of the youtubers are mostly obsessed with Resident Evil when it comes to horror games.
You said a mouthful 👏Not saying Resident evil is not good, it is but, there are so many other horror games out there. And depending on what kind of horror game mood you're in quiet and adventurous to loud and jump scare. There are games out there that have both. Space, woods, to a basic haunted house. You'll never run out of playing horror games 🤖👾👽👻🧚♀️
I manage a game store in Australia and back when Song of Horror was announced, I made it my mission to show it off to everyone I could to hype it up because I'm someone who can't let incredible projects of love be forgotten. Still to this day I tell people about it despite not having it in store or nearby available stock because it is a game so dear to my heart. I've played it with my partner who caused me to lose 2 characters sadly through our playthrough, but I've never had a more fun experience. So many times I hear people complain about not having games with an "original" feel or want something to take them back to the old days with tank controls, but when you recommend them some like it, they just brush it off. So it makes me happy to hear that some still have an appreciation for Song of Horror 😊💖
I was pleasantly surprised to see The Vanishing of Ethan Carter included in this list. My first playthrough was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had.
SO glad to see Song of Horror get some flowers! It’s my absolute favorite horror game, and I can’t believe it’s not more popular. Your videos always have new games I can’t wait to check out, thanks for making such good content!
The Vanishing of Ethen Carter was a fantastic game, story-wise and stylistic-wise. It was brilliant. l would never have categorized it as horror, although it does have creepy moments and elements. Great to see it on this list - it deserves a lot of attention!
The last game struck me with nostalgia, and it's perfect for this list because no one has ever talked about it. It literally has one of the most interesting plots in the history of gaming, and I also feel that something much bigger could come out of it. It kind of reminds me that the era of the PS4 and Xbox One was much more creative and exciting than the current generation.
I really share the same view: the PS4/Xbox One generation felt way more memorable and full of games that were made with passion and creativity. Even the visuals can literally still compete with the current generation.
Thank you so much for bringing these lesser-known horror games to light for us! It's kinda sad that people only want to mention the same horror games over and over again as if they're the only ones that exist. There're so many hidden gems out there that have so much fear to offer.
song of horror is not unknown... there is hell lot of ppl that know about that masterpiece of game. The narrative, the music, the ambience and the system are sooooooooooo good (specially if you let the characters die wich SHOULD happen). The first gameplay i did no one died, but then i replayed it and let all but the main characters die and it changed A LOT
I knew about and played only 4 of these (The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Sinking City, Observer and Murdered: Soul Suspect) and I loved them all! Glad to know there's a bunch of new games I can try out! Great video!
Fobia is an insanely good game. I’m surprised it went under the radar for most. Observer was neat actually. It’s not as scary but the story and setting was insanely interesting. It does have unnerving settings with something looking for you in some segments but it’s obviously not completely focused on that element. If you want immersion, this game gives you that on a silver platter. The devs behind it know how to make some good horror games that can go the extra mile story wise. I’d see them as being similar to “red barrel” or the team behind the outlast games. Murdered soul was pretty neat to. Same deal. More so focused on story but since your the ghost, you in control of the supernatural events
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Bugle I didn’t hear about that. Any idea on what the title was? I knew they made a reimagined version of “Layers of Fear” and that was amazing and insanely immersive.
@@epgamer1145 I think it was IGN saying they are working on some "victorian setting" horror game. They are also working on Silent Hill 2 remake from what I understand?
Wow, man. This list is amazing! Especially mentioning «Murdered: Soul Suspect», «Observer». I remember how I played those games and experienced extreme joy, especially «Murdered: Soul Suspect». I think this game is an underrated masterpiece with its story, unique gameplay. I remember even the moment in that game when you can possess cat's body to get some secret (or something) upstairs in the beginning of the game. Also, thanks for reference to «Fobia». Seems to be interesting game to be «investigated».
Ethan Carter I bought upon release. It was great, though pretty easy.the atmosphere is very warm, mysterious and at times bizarre. (The astronaut in the woods...) the experience is one-of-a-kind after you've reached the surprising conclusion. Very emotional trip into an abandoned valley.
It has vibes of Everybody‘s Gone to the Rapture, which was equally beautiful and unsettling with great atmosphere (though certainly not - game for action lovers 😉)
I've played half of these 👍. Also so happy to see murdered soul suspect on here, I always felt like that game should be way more popular than it is, it always surprised me how few people know about it it was so good.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Song of Horror, The Sinking City, Observer and Murdered: Soul Suspect, are not unknown games. They are many RUclips videos, with guides for all of these.
Love your list, although I wouldn't put The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter in here. The game is quite famous, with a few prices and nominations to it's name as well, as being included in most lists of best indie games of all time.
You've done a great job making this video, and yes carry on and take your time as you are giving us more information about the games, well done and keep them coming, Thumbs up from me and i have subscrived as you are the Horror game Bible.
Also thank you for bringing these games to light, ive played all of them already on stream but more people should learn about them especially Fobia St imo. That game was, fantastic
As a HUGE horror fan, you’ve earned a sub from me for this video. Games like Phantom Project and Murdered are what I am looking for. I’ve never heard of it and I’m always looking for underrated horror games to gloat about
Your comment about you never caring about a game's popularity as a factor on whether it's worth a review or not was much appreciated, and because of that, I have liked, commented, and subbed. :) As an artist (in the music industry, obviously a different industry), I can relate and appreciate the sentiment. Good on you for support new, independent, and/or unknown creators and their creations... The whole "popularity contest" aspect of the entertainment industry (and all sectors thereof) is the worst, disingenuous, and manufactured part about it. It's a theme that will always remain in the industry and is why most artistic individuals & small businesses will never see success... Unfortunately, popularity can be bought with $$$ and/or gained with nepotism - or usually attained via both... and most of the time, it is. As someone who is using your 17K subscribers to help give games exposure that may otherwise never have such is so freaking awesome of you and I wish you nothing but the greatest amount of success in your future. Thank you friend. Have a blessed day!
Sinking city is insane… can almost smell the damp atmosphere, it’s so detailed. Started Murdered but didn’t finish…may have been demo tho I can’t rem now but liked 😆 thanks for taking the time 🕊️
Happy to see Lethe on here! :) Solid game overall that I have recommended & even gifted to people cheap during Steam sales. Sad there hasn't been any sequels/Part 2. I think interest waned for the Part 2 because of the decision to go episodic and also pirating the developer said :/ So that deincentivized to continue w/ the project :( Purchased it back in fall 2017 & played it back in spring 2018. Good game for this list 👌
It's cool to see a channel covering some of these obscure horror games in a well-spoken, long form analysis format rather than the usual YEAAAH BOYEEEEE AHEHEHE "content". Not a fan of the "top 10 list" format but I understand given how obscure some of these titles are you likely aren't gonna get any clickage out of them doing stand-alone videos. Lethe and Song of Horror in particular are really good for how obscure and indie they are. Same goes for St. Dinfna Hotel and other competently made solo indie games using the same basic Unity first person survival horror starter package (i.e. Eternal Evil).
excellent video KazzaGamesTV I have been looking for a game for xbox one, is it horror/suspense, takes place in a theater, or is it what I remember, does anyone know what it could be?

I could listen to you and your soothing voice all day long and your videos never seem too long to me. I really loved Vanishing of Ethan Carter, such a great game. Thank you for all these great videos.
There is a hidden jewel called Resident Evil, it is an old one but really good horror game about a group of soldiers that get trapped in a mansion full of zombies. Too bad it never got the recognition it deserved
TY, I might not be the master of horror games since I missed 4 out of 9 of these games.... that will be rectified so once again, thanks from the bottom of my dark and twisted soul.
I will warn you now lol, observer is actually almost 2 games. The very first observer is bone chilling and always on edge. The redux addition is like a brighter censored version aka the 2nd game almost. Nobody understood why I was loosing my mind over how incredibly bad the redux was until you see yt videos of the first one. And if you are brave enough even in the redux version there is a layers of fear poster in basement apartment. Aka blooper and a easter egg. Amazing game very unsettling and makes ur skin crawl lol. Not the redux version honestly lol but all my personal opinions.
Song of Horror was one of my favorite horror games, my favorite genre of course...but i couldn't finish it. I guess given enough time, but the different mini games to escape the presence seemed to have no rhyme or reason whether they worked or not and id always start losing every character i had to use around episode 3. Wanted to love it but it wouldn't let me, otherwise it would be among my favorite games ever period.
Pretty clever to have a game named Lethe with a character that can't remember anything. It's a clever reference to the river of forgetfulness from Greek Mythology
I knew just about all of these! I think the only ones I didn't know was Phantom Project and Lethe. The rest I've either played or watched played. I literally can't stop singing the presides for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and DARQ, those are 2 of my favorite games. Song of Horror, Fobia, Sinking City, Observer, Murdered: Soul Suspect (I think it's good paired with Infliction) - they're all excellent. I like to think the fact I knew almost all of these means I have a keen eye for hidden gems. Another game I think should be on here is Narcosis. That game, and especially it's ending, are unbelievable. It's stayed with me far long after its completion.
The Sinking City was always known to me, because I have Call of Cthulhu. The original creator of the remake was Frogware, but they wanted to go a different direction, so that is how The Sinking City was made. I have both games and can see noticeable similarities between the two games.
From what I played from this list: Unfollow is pretty interesting from the demo. Song of Horror is a good game but I played it when it still had the closet bug so it was pretty frustrating. Maybe I'll play it again if the big is fixed. Fobia is amazing! Darq had a pretty cool mechanic but if you like lore is your games, there's none here. Murdered: Soul Suspect was a big let down. The "plot twist" can be solved in the first minutes of the game and the gameplay is brutally repetitive.
I fixed it in one of my newer videos, but someone then told me it's "Santa" lol. I think it makes sense considering the hotel is located in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
I've played Observer. Got a little too scared to finish though. I do want to ask for a clarification on Soul Suspect, though -- when you say "the fictional city of Salem, Massachusetts", you mean "a fictional version of the non-fictional city of Salem, Massachusetts", right? Because the Salem Witch Trials were a real thing that happened, and Abigail Williams was a real person that existed, but your wording makes it seem like you might not be aware of that and I just want to make sure I'm not reading it incorrectly.
So I've heard of a few of these ones and funnily enough I've also played all of them but Darq (which I've bought and plan to play soon). Surprised the Sinking City made it on, I thought that one is a bit more mainstream. I guess it wasn't very successful but I personally love it. Its heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft's story 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth.' For the games I've not heard of in the list, I think I'll add Lethe to my wishlist. That one looks right up my street! Also maybe Fobia.
00:01 thank you for playing “UNFOLLOW” 🥰

The "plot twist" can be solved in the first minutes of the game and the gameplay is brutally repetitive.

In Fobia's title, "St." Stands for "Saint" not "Street" mate, felt the need to tell you 😅
I fixed it in one of my newer videos, but someone then told me it's "Santa" lol. I think it makes sense considering the hotel is located in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
@@KazzaGamesTV "Santa" is Spanish for "saint."
btw observer is good as hell
In the beginning there was a short scene of a game with a lot fire. What's that game called?
It's called 'Inner Chains'.
Song of horror is one of my fav horror games. It’s beautiful and creepy as heck
Appreciate the video, although pronunciation was way off on some titles.
I'm adding each to wishlist i don't have as they are talked about looks like you have good taste
Its heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft's story 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth.'
For the games I've not heard of in the list, I think I'll add Lethe to my wishlist. That one looks right up my street! Also maybe Fobia.
This is done sooooo good. Thank you for your time and effort you put into making this! 100% Good shitl
Lethe sounds like Bioshock
