Watched this film in a theater. 30 years ago...times fly😄. Bill Paxton was the lucky charm actor for Cameron in that period. Terminator, Aliens, Titanic. He was Amazing. Also Cameron ask Arnold to share with Jamie to be the Star of this one. This is an Arnold and Jamie movie. I've learned this not so long ago. ❤
One more thing, i'm from Argentina, Tango is our music and dance. The song is "Por Una Cabeza", Astor Piazzolla.

4:55..People say no way on that trick..But the dogs weighed about 100 lbs each, while Arnie could bench press 500, so it's doable. 8:16..Doggone if Heston dosen't look like Marvel's Nick Fury ( The original, not Samual Jackson's one) in that scene.11:37..Pool old dude'll never use another public restroom again! 18:55. I liked the guy, too..From " Aliens and " Titanic " to " 2 guns" ( 2013), he could play the scummiest guys with funny realism-- RIP.39:42-Good point --death by Pelican is too nice for evil folk like that. "Have you ever killed anyone?"
"Yeah, but they were all bad."
Fun Fact: The USMC supplied three Harriers and their pilots for a fee of $100,736 ($2,410 per hour).
Art Imitates Life Fact: At one point in the movie, Gib tells a story about his second wife taking everything when she left him, even the ice cube trays from the freezer. This is a direct reference to Tom Arnold's divorce from Roseanne Barr that was happening at the same time. Barr was reported to have taken his ice cube trays when she left him as well. Arnold told the story to James Cameron on the set and Cameron incorporated it into the film.
That's Hot Fact: The set of bra and matching panties worn by Helen Tasker during the striptease scene were Jamie Lee Curtis's own. Curtis rehearsed the scene extensively with director James Cameron, and it was there that the fall she makes in the middle of the dance was conceived (it didn't happen spontaneously during the actual shooting, as is often claimed). Arnold Schwarzenegger was not told of this beforehand, and this is hinted at when Harry briefly sits up in alarm, realizes that he is breaking character, and then relaxes.

A lovely piece of work by Cameron.
This was remake of a short film from France.
"La Totale!" which was released the same year as T2.
'Bigger than average' genre film and that worked like a charm.
TL is exactly what it's suppose to be.
Hardcore Spy/Comedy where the laughs and blasts are on the same level.
Arnold personally wanted Jamie Lee Curtis at top billing as the lead actress.
Because her character meant as much to the story as her husband's did.
The studio changed their tune and were wrong about putting her name under the title's name.
The late Bill Paxton as Simon the fake (3rd film with Cameron) was quite the performance.
Prior to this film, Cameron (a Marvel fan) was originally involved with Spider-Man and X-Men becoming films which had the industry losing their minds.
Also the late, great Charlton Heston as the boss of the Omega sector resembled classic Nick Fury.
Other than that, it was great to see Cameron and Arnold working together again.
There was a tv series and it lasted one season (2023).
    I wasn't into watching anyway.
    Just not my thing.

The movie was absolutely MASSIVE when it exploded at the box office. It was all everyone was talking about. Then a month later Forrest Gump came out and THAT stole its thunder.

The USMC used the "Advanced Harrier" which is a slightly modified British Harrier commonly called the "Jump Jet" owing to the fact it can take off and hover like a helicopter

I remember showing up to the shooting location in New Port Rhode Island to try for an extra part. That was a nice thing the Director did for the locals. New Port Mansions were used as the Switzerland scenes. The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms, Rosecliff, Chepstow and Chateau-sur-Mer. Look them up or Visit sometime.

"True Lies" is my favorite movie, period. I loved it so much that - before Cameron released a Blu-Ray this year - I bought the Spanish edition Blu-ray (transcoded from a 1080p video) to see it in HD. Yes, the Spanish blu-Ray has English audio and subtitle tracks. Of course, I now own the Cameron Blu-ray, too.
    "Did you every kill anyone?"
"Yeah, but dey were all bad."

I had to check my realities when you said “It is really raining outside” because I had just thought to myself “It is really raining outside”. Turns out I’m not losing the plot, it really is really raining outside.

8:37 The good old days of being able to drive right by the White House. This film released just before Francisco Duran shot up the White House press room with an SKS and was tackled by tourists (and not he Secret Service) when he tried to reloaded. Although no one was hit this cause Pennsylvania Avenue to be “temporarily” shut down. That was in 1994 and it’s still closed! George W. Bush vowed that his first act as president would be to reopen Pennsylvania Ave. but he never got around to it in eight years!

Fun Fact Cameron worked for the CIA and found the Titanic as a cover job. He worked on placing spy nets underwater to track Russian Subs. Maybe since his first bug jobs were undersea work maybe why he made it a focus of his films.

The ice scene with the ski gunners at the beginning if either a blatant reference to a James Bond film or a parody of a specific scene (although no using a cello as an improvised sleigh to escape the gunmen on skis in this film).

This is a remake of the French film La Totale. This was Arnold Schwarzenegger's third collaboration with director James Cameron and composer Brad Fiedel. Their other collaborations are The Terminator, Terminator 2 and T2: Battle Across Time. Other films of his to watch include Pumping Iron, Conan the Barbarian, Commando, Raw Deal, Predator, The Running Man, Red Heat, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Total Recall, Last Action Hero and Eraser. I also recommend watching the Netflix series FUBAR

Tom Arnold’s crowning role. The “man in the chair” for Arnie & he owned it. The camcorder losing power scene had people in the theater in the isles laughing.
The road being blown up is actually American history. They had just completed the replacement and dismantled a section to deter usage. 2 birds, one demolition.

Cameron said this is the James Bond movie he didn't get to make. Essentially it has a lot of the tropes of a 007 film. I personally like it more than Goldeneye, which came out a year later.
