    Some cinematographers/videographers review was quite the opposite than some photographers. These are not your standard photo lenses, and they are very cheap (comparatively). I bought these lenses and i absolutely love them, because of all these imperfections and softness at T1.2 specifically. I was looking at the Zhongyi/Mitakon Speedmasters but they cost €200 more, and also at the Viltrox set, but Sirui nailed it with these, they are absolutely fantastic. If you are shooting APS-C/Super 35 and you are on a budget, these will make for brilliant (and first if you don't already own one) cinema lenses. Just go for it, i promise you will be blown away. I am really tired of the forensic-clinical-youtube-bullshit dogma of sharpness for film and storytelling. It's completely ridiculous.

    I appreciate the review you provided on all three focal lengths. While the price of these lenses is amazing (particularly for a T1.2 lens), there are some limitations that certainly make them less desirable. Only APS-C Coverage, not clean until about T2 or higher, and chromatic aberration make these less desirable even at their price. I think I'd prefer to spend a bit more to get an ideal set, even it I can't stop down to T1.2. I'd love to see you review the NiSi Athena Prime lenses!

    Yesterday, TT Artisan has released very unique product, a 500mm, f6.3, manual focus, telephoto lens. Will you be testing it out in the nearest future? 🙂

    I’d personally like to see a comparison between the 24mm t1.2 and the canon efs 24mm 2.8 as that has been my video lens for a bit, not the best but it’s cheep.

    • @FinalConsensus
      @FinalConsensus 11 месяцев назад +2

      Id say that depends on what you do for video. Your EF-S lens has auto focus which you will miss with a cine lens. However it’d be a step up for you in terms of depth of field. If you don’t mind working around and practicing with the manual focus/manual aperture, I say go for it.

    Thank you so much for the review of the Siriu night walkers. I can suggest the Mitakon 1.0 s35 for you next review of budget cine lens sets :). (It be really helpful if you can pull a review of that set)

    Would be curious to know what you make of Sirui's anamorphic lenses, even if they aren't made for regular still photography. I have one, it's quite fun!

    Thanks for the great review! Are you going to test the sniper AF lenses they just announced as well? Would be great to see, especially the 23mm 1.2 is a lens I could be interested in, if it´s good enough for stills.

    hello, I'm using a eos m50 for now and I want to do landscape and street photography in daylight and do some low light shots, I'm really stuck on what lens to buy if you could give me some suggestions as I'm using a crop sensor, I was thinking of the canon ef-16-35mm lens but i saw your video saying ef-s17-55mm would be better on a crop sensor so I'm really stuck now, I hope you get back to me thank you and keep up the great videos

      The obvious answer as always is: price
      But somehow people like to pretend making full frame lenses isn't more expensive 🙄

    • @professionalidiot07
      @professionalidiot07 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@SyntheticFuture The obvious answer is that super 35 (apsc) is the standard for filmmaking

    • @SyntheticFuture
      @SyntheticFuture 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@professionalidiot07 hmm I thought 35mm was the standard but it seems you are right here. Super 35 (which is slightly different than APS-C. "Super 35 sensors have a slightly shorter width but a greater height.") seems to be the standard. Mildly confuses me tbh considering how much more convenient full frame is when working indoors and stuff. That was the main reason for me to buy a a7ii over a A6700 at the time (losing the 4k option does suck, but at least I now have a chance to film indoors with 'normal' focal lengths 😅). Finding affordable and reasonable FF lenses has proven to be a bit more challenging though.

    If there is a focus breathing - this is not a cine lens, it's a manual geared photo lens.

    • @FinalConsensus
      @FinalConsensus 11 месяцев назад +3

    I am not chinese but why is it necessary to say that this is from a chinese manufacturer? Like you don't do that for Canon, Nikon, Sony and other big brands just because they are big?

    • @kian8382
      @kian8382 11 месяцев назад +1

      If there's brand you've never heard of, like DFGHNNBJBV, wouldn't you want to know where it's from? Maybe from it's from the U.S., or Mongolia, it may or may not matter but it sure doesn't offend.
