    Loving watching all the other reviews of these lenses, seems like everyone was expecting them to be pretty ropey for the price (myself included) - but like you, I was really i pressed by what SIRUI are offering at this prce point.
    If they release more focal lengths then they will have a great line up to rival the more expensive "budget" primes from DZOfilm and Meike.

    This lenses look great! I can't afford the expensive Cinema lenses but I would love to try at least one...which focal length would you choose if you could only have one? for general usage? I have a Sony FX30...I'm thinking a 24mm would be good...about 36mm and if I were to use clear zoom (OMG!! the end of the world!!!) I could get almost the look of a 50mm...a vintage vibe would be nice too! thanks for the video!

    Hola. Excelentes lentes por el precio. Tengo la Z Cam E2 S6. Perfectos para la montura Micro Cuatro tercios que viene con la cámara. Tengo moturas PL, EF y M4/3 y estoy por añadir montura E. Espereba que con lentes M4/3 se verían viñetas pero ninguna. Tengo algunos SLR Magic Micro Prime M4/3 y sorpresa, funcionan hasta para un sensor Full Frame. Pero en comparación, estos Sirui están por arriba de los SLR Magic Micro Prime, de cualquier montura. Saludos desde México Spenser. Te sigo hace algunos años.

    Modest tone, but a very good review. Personally I don’t see the point of t1.2 as the shallow DOF makes it almost unusable in most scenarios, and I’d rather focus on what these lenses look like at t.2-4, where I’d use any lens the most. It would be good to see how all the colours match up on a vectorscope compared to a Sigma to see if they are all warm to the same degree. I would imagine that’s where Sigma is more consistently accurate, but you never know. These look great for a low-budget short film or music video.

    Another great video. Meanwhile Wondering how you are grading your Komodo. Its looking very nice and definitely is avoiding the muddy lower mids that i often see. Lots of air and space, more Arri. Wondering if you avoid sharpening when doing these reviews. Assume so but since I sharpen everything i do with the Komodo or any raw workflow without in camera, i was just wondering. Thx again.

    • @spensersakurai
      @spensersakurai  Год назад +3

      I never sharpen RED footage. It has lots of detail. I mean you just got to expose correctly. I color things differently depending on what I’m doing but I just do my best to make it look how I want.

    • @anthonyrock5039
      @anthonyrock5039 8 месяцев назад

      I think the over use of luts rather than actual grading along with many people not understanding how to use iso to expose for shadow with red camera s yields a common often mediocre type of image. Lighting, exposure lens (lens and T stop will determine perceived sharpness) then grading (r3d will give you the most flexibility).

    • @KenFlanagan
      @KenFlanagan 8 месяцев назад

      @@anthonyrock5039 im not sure what kind of LUTs you are referring to but a CST is a technical LUT and in most cases its a log to linear mathematical transform simple to let the NLE grade reflect output colour space. I am not sure that i have ever really understood this red iso argument and often i think there are very confusing terms used. The physical amount of light hitting the sensor and its sensitivity need to be delineated and understood. The iso is a measure of the sensor’s sensitivity to light and as such this is always in play raw or otherwise regarding the sensor design and any bias the sensor may have in its response to any given light level. The clarity of perceived sharpness and micro contrast in the image is a combination of many things but it is most easily understood when using noise reduction and sharpening. If NR is applied to an image in post just look at what is happening in the waveforms. When we talk about a sensor having a clean image without the need for external NR and sharpening then this is really what is in the control of the camera manufacturer and their sensor design and bias out of the box and often affects micro contrast and specifically rgb separation. It is debatable whether shooting a noisy raw image in camera is better dealt with in post given the computational speed and sophistication of post software that in camera but manufacturers should then logically release NR and sharpening software or presets to existing third party software to accommodate how they believe the image should be sharpened or cleaned in the same way they release a conversion LUT.

    13:35 you say "the gearing feels nice and tighty". This gets me a bit worried, as almost every other reviewer has commented that the gearing is not tight at all, but too loose. Does that mean that it will be hit or miss wether the specific example we buy will be tight or loose?
