You truly are a Dr in my eyes. I needed something to help me try to sleep tonight. 😭 My father passed away today around 3pm, and I found him an hour or so later in his chair slumped over, head touching the ground, with his tongue partially bitten off. They're saying it was a seizure and stroke, and he was only 66 yrs old, no previoussigns or conditions. I'm 39, and now lost my bestfriend in life. Sorry for the TMI but I can't even process what truly happened today...sorry to babble on here, but most times you get more understanding people on here, than in real life. God u sound pathetic, but I just need a friend and a hug😔💔😭
So sorry to hear about your loss!! Will keep you in prayer!! Possibly hard to hear now, however God can and will keep you in His secure arms!! Look to Him for your answers!!
Quipsy Queen. I truly am sorry for your loss, as my father left this world last December and I am still broken. He and I shared so so many traits, but I’ll never fill his shoes. An extremely kind beyond words man, with so very much love in his heart. And With you saying that you considered him your best friend, that’s something that I can relate to. I won’t give you the cliche bs and say that “ I know what you’re going through” or “Time heals all wounds”, as Everyones bond is different, but I will say that I feel for you, and to Take solace that he is in a beautiful place, just waiting for you to join him. Some say that it was his time, others that God wanted him back. As for me, I believe them all. He’s watching over you, and it’s ok, even healthy to let out your emotions. Speak to him as often as you can, and rest well knowing that he is listening. I wish you the best recovery possible, and remember that the natural order of things played out. Keep living the best life that you can, if not for you do it for him. And know in your heart that he’s proud of you. My sincerest condolences.

You made me cry but in a way I hadn't yet. 2nd,- I needed that, honestly🙏and 3rd -Thank you for commenting and sharing your story. Oh And 4th- Thank you for telling me things I really needed to hear. And I'm so sorry to hear your mom passed away not that long ago.😔 My mom passed 5 yrs ago this December in almost the same way, it was like dejavu I swear. And it took the coroner till after (he passed around 2ish we think, I didn't get there till 3) 8pm to move his body from his trailer while his dogs watched him. They never barked. They knew before I knew. We love in Big Pine Key in the Florida keys, but 🤞 He is now with my mom, even though they were divorced when I was 6 they still lived together. And I'm picturing them enjoying their morning coffee together once again. 💜 I don't think its hit me yet. That I'll never talk to him again. It's so strange I can say more to strangers than the people around me, bc you don't judge. Ok I will shut up bc I wrote another novel...wow. I wish there were meetings like AA but for the recently deceased family (oh lord I must be sleep deprived bc I started laughing thinking about Beetlejuice and the Handbook for the Recently Deceased 🙄😂 and picturing my parents waiting in that room, lmao my mom would of totally steal your ticket 😉😪 wow I need some sleep!

Damn good story! The ending reminded me of what Dr Strange said in his movie, the warnings come after the spell. Kinda like she should’ve been more thorough with her readings in the diary. And with all of her constant references to it, how come the note didn’t fall out earlier? And why even write a separate note when you’ve got a diary that explains what to do? Maybe it was Belles back up imploring to her to take the damn NORTH EXIT!!! Jk, excellent as usual Dr. Creepen, and quite an interesting tale that I really enjoyed to the author. 👍

Interesting but not sure why Belle felt she needed to do _that.._ and if you're gonna use the classic 'sentinel decoy escape strategy' in a suburb divided into quadrants why was the East any better than North? Wouldn't literally everybody be focused on the sentinels, especially the armed gate guards? Oh well.. crazy kids these days inviting monsters to kill their parents and destroy their homes just to run off to their own dooms without giving it a second thought. Happens every day ;P

Okay, so the main suburbs sits on a giant clock like structure. Turning around every so-and-so amount of years. This clock foundation is resting in between different realities at best. At worst it stand sideways in time and space with only the northern exit to connect and keep it stable. The other 3 exits consist of disentangle concepts and broken remnants of reality in its wake. Its not at the end of the world, rather to the left or right of the world.This also allows a time loop to work, so it might not even be the year 2020, either the Suburbs sits sometimes in the future and only connects to the year 2020. Or the town was founded between the years 1898 and before 1908. I base this conclusion on the founding date of Bakersfield California, the use of Streetlights and absents of mass production of Cars.
I am so impressed by you figuring out so much, I left incredibly obscure and subtle clues and you found them, especially the clock motif, I never even mentioned a clock. Good job! I plan to revisit this world in the future so maybe you'll learn something new.

What a sad ending. Very interesting story and it teaches a valuable lesson in reading instructions completely before acting.
I think the real moral of the story is read the document all the way through to the end, kids!

I'm not sure I understand the ending, can someone explain it to me? Spoilers of course
Basically Belle told them that the only viable exit is the north exit. Whatever ritual or force made the suburb also separated it from our world. Only the northern exit connects back to our world. The other exits lead to endless suburbs with monsters and presumably death.
