Edit: OH MAN THIS IS SO MUCH WILDER THAN JUST ZOMBIES! I’m like ten minutes in and this world building is INSANE AND FASCINATING! I cannot believe how creative the “setting of the table” is in this story. Like we get a brief idea of what’s the current day like, and then we’re treated to the brief recent history of the novel/previously unseen crisis they’re facing. Wow. This story pulled me in SO fast.

I was thinking more of the blob because the blob had tentacles they would shoot out and wrap around people as it moved and it dissolved everything in its path people plants animals all of it.
I love John Carpenter's "The Thing" for sure..and H.P. Lovecraft's "In the Mountains of Madness" which also took place in the arctic

I absolutely love the old creative commons stories Doc, theyre definitely some of the best. Not to say the folks writing currently arent good, but these old stories have a lot of imagination in them. Perhaps because of the fact we hadnt collected as much knowledge of the world then, idk, but i love the.

This had a Lovecraftian FUNGUS SLIME MOLD vibe. Excellently silly story. Loved it. I had this bizarre image of a kid summersaulting into the ooze. Damn! :-)

Aha! I thought this was written from an earlier era, due to the wording, phrasing, and such. I liked it, while it was noticeably dated, it had a pretty pheasible prediction into more modern technologies (I mean, we don't all have private jets, but some people can afford them) and gave it almost a genre of it's own. Quite charming if you ask me. Thanks for the story, as always, Doc.

I like the ideas here. Would like to see a modern twist. They used some sort of Energy to take out the monsters. I wonder why they didn't try analyze people's biology to find out what fed the monsters. Maybe a chemical could've done the trick.

This story left me conflicted. Because I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to believe that a world, similar to ours, could be full of so many sheeple. Like, people wouldn't allow their governments to become THAT tyrannical. Let alone cheer them on with praise.

I really really really love it when you read stories such as this, highly creative stories i mean. I enjoy most everything you read. However stories like this, in a wildly different universe are so refreshing!

why would the protagonists choose 15 to 20 year olds to sacrifice?
It makes more sense that 60 years and up would be a better age category for sacrifice.
I guess it made for better "horror" sacrificing the young.
Good story though.
It's different than most apocalyptic monster stories
The real question is, why would a government deliberately spread so much dissatisfaction among its citizens by acting covertly? Do it in a grand ceremony with all the evidence of the genocide in south America for people to see and understand the threat they face. Plus, 100'000 is almost nothing compared to the total population of the US, so it's really a bargain deal compared to the alternative.
You've got a voice meant to keep these gems alive.

it's like this story mixed the hunger games, attack on titan and super mario bros movie all into 1 story without ever knowing due to the time it was written.
it does make a lot of sense now seeing it was written in the 30s, a lot of the scifi lingo seemed way too confusing to have been written in this age.
hy guys, i'm looking for help from the community, one of my favorite creepypasta readers (like dr. creepen) completely disappeared from youtube a couple of years ago and i cannot seem to find any information on him (like he's been scrubbed from the internet entirely, and i was wondering if his channel may have been uploaded somewhere else? or just anything known really...so here is what i remember:
the intro to his channel was done in a CGI first person view through a camera stumbling through some spooky woods as static flickers in and out before coming to a run down house where a zombie shambles out and lurches towards the camera.
story: he was best known for a zombie series (i believe he invented) that was incredibly disturbing and graphic and gory (to the point i am now like 50% sure it could be the reason he's not on youtube anymore,) but it had little branching single video stories revolving around the disease and sorta world building around it, it could turn people into your average zombies or incredibly violent and insane people who would horrifically brutalize you while they kill you as well, a main portion of the story revolved around a group of survivors that sent (who would be) 3 of their main characters out on a scavenging mission, 1 was a younger girl and the others 2 men where they eventually run into the crazies and one of the men is infected while the girl is separated while on the run, the 2nd guy was going to kneecap the infected dude before he turned to let the zombies and crazies have him before they could catch up but he turned too quickly which lead the guy to hiding in a dumpster while the crazed man returned to the survivors hide out and murdered the remaining survivors (on of which was a pregnant woman who was the mother of the young girl)
and the story sorta splits off from there between the girl who was separated and the other guy who hid in a dumpster where the story continued to progress, but anyone who has heard the story should know what i am talking about from that description...
while i was sometimes disturbed by parts to the point i had to skip past a few minutes, it was still a really compelling story non the less and i was always drawn in to hear what happened next, so i would really like to find out where he went if nothing else to have the closure in knowing the story will either never be finished or that he's either moved to another platform or is just on hiatus
