Wow, I really like it. I was easily able to visualize it all as a classic noir fiction story set on a 1940s Earth, with cool period outfits and cars, and exquisite art deco architecture.
Damn! That was fantastic! Much credit to the author Hal K. Wells, for giving us a story of excellent work. I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard your work before, but after this I’ll certainly be on the lookout for any! A special thanks to the Dr for choosing this story, and bringing it to us in a way no one else could, 👍, excellent work on both sides of the coin. 👍👍👍 If there’s a sequel to this I’d be more than happy to hear it! Actually excited to!
I love this story! The author's way of describing everything is incredible! I do not want to say "the way you read" because I think it's far more than just reading. You make it sound believable, and almost like your own memory. Well done Sir
Great tale! ❤️ Reminds me of the old school sci-fi movies 😁 You do have a knack for finding the unusual dear Doctor 🤯 As always, thank you for all the time you devote to keeping us creepy 🧟🦇
Thanks Doc! That was an amazing tale! I really love how you change up the stories you graciously narrate for us so we don’t get bored of the same old story types! I pray that you and your loved ones are staying happy and healthy Doc! 😁 Love from Texas ♥️🤠🌴
What an absolute gem 💎 This one had me gripped from the very beginning. I loved every minute of this smart and engaging story, one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Thank you!! 👍🏿
That was great! I absolutely loved it, and want more of these oldies but goodies. Thanks Doc, and by the way, no worries when you're unable to get a video out on any given night, as you always in the end give us extra videos, anyways. :)
Extremely delightful and intriguing.... I've never heard of a metallic alien before...... This is excitingly different and that is always a great thing... Love the originality and the excitement in your voice Dearest Dr as you read each word.... Can't wait for another great story....
Loved the old-school vibe to this one indeed! And wanted to be sure to send you a thank you for your narrations, the familiar video opening and calming sound of your voice provides a bit of calm in the Storm of life. Many thanks 🙏♥️
Another really awesome & imaginative story, totally immersive & throughly enjoyable, I loved 🥰 it. Thank you Doc for yet again another awesome narration 🙏😊👍🏽.
Doc, you should really consider doing more of these old Astounding Stories tales. You truly breathe new life on these classic stories. Never heard better.
That was so much fun. I have herd 50 or 60 storys from u an others. An that was by far my favorite. Please do more like that. With an ending were the good guy wins.
Dont know how i missed this one, but tonight its a Manhattan, with my kitty. Its raining out so i get the bonus sound of rain hitting the window. Thank you good dr.
I'm today really late lol😂we have already Wednesday evening, but i was sooo busy i'm happy i managed to be here at all🙄🤯😂But i can't without our Docs narration and all the talented peoples stories 🤗❤💞💕I thank you all so much
Omg "Space cars"?! So hilariously adorable...kinda reminded me of that South Park episode when Stan and Randy break the speed of light or time with Stans cub scout toy derby car and the aliens come and test (humanity)...wait for it...with a GIGANTIC pile of "space cash"!!!!
I have to admit that Arlog was perhaps the most well mannered alien invader bent on planetary domination and genocide I've ever heard of. He actually took the time to explain how he got there, how he planned to bring more of his kind, and even laid out his species' plan for the Earth and humanity. Stand up guy if you ask me.
The only thing missing from that plot is a Vogon reading bad poetry. The gate explanation seems very familiar to Stargate. Wonder if this was an inspiration? 🤔
Good Sci fi story. My dad had a collection of very old sci fi/action fantasy books with stories like this. Books like A.G. Van Vogt. Voyager of the Space Beagle. The Weapons shops of Ishar. Fred Saberhagen's The Beserkers (choronics.) The Demon Seed. Paperback books like, Edgar Rice Boroughs, Tarzan series. The lands that time forgot. John Carter of Mars. The Monster men. And many, many others...
Fell asleep immediately and had craziest dream about living in the 4th dimension frank Zappa and his daughter were in it . There's way more, but it's super hazy then I awoke at the exact end. I'm trying this again.
Good one doc. Now for a question. These Xorans live by eating metals, right? They are highly advanced, even to the point of traversing 4th dimensional space. Ok, so, why would they waste time, effort and risk, to exterminate the bio-filth of a planet so they can consume the metals? There are litteraly billions of planets, asteroid belts and moons out there that, as far as we know, do not contain life. So, why? Just another "locust species" setting. That said, another great narration.
I don't know about the end. Closing the gate was without question a good idea, but I'd have tried to not break the technology fully. Maybe humanity could have used that to defend themselves or understand their enemy better.
One of the best narrations I've heard in years. The story was well served by it. 👍✌️👌

Very cool!
100% agree. Great atmosphere from the story. I had it visualised very similar to the way you described.
Absolutely!!! I also imagined it as a 1940s setting as well it just really fits the story greatly

That was so well written I didn’t even realize it was almost a century old until I looked at the description.
I love when stories have nice endings. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for an amazing narration doc
My inner child is always opened to visualize these stories. Story Time!!! 😃
Now this was pretty good. Main characters with brains and spunk. A protagonist straight of a nightmare. Nice 👍
Bravo! Wonderful, excellent, edge of your seat story! I really enjoyed the narration! Nobody does it like the doc!

Hello 😊
Good evening Dr. This is just what I needed. Thank you.
This sounds interesting cant wait to sit back and listen..thank you Dr.

🙏😊👍🏽.
My pleasure!
That was really good! Thank you.
I never heard the "fourth dimension" described that way. The author obviously put a lot of thought into it.
Haven’t listened yet, but I hope it’s in the vein of the 3rd dimension being a shadow of the 4th just as the 2nd is a shadow of the 3rd.
It’s a solution in undergraduate linear algebra
Hes zzzz worst narrator but storys ok
@@marcosdenizatrailhiker2037 I would never understand it if anyone tried to describe it in algebra… and it would make me angry lol
You're amazing, thank you so much, for your amazing narration of so many amazing stories. Huge props to those who have provided those stories.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tale and the telling. Thank you so much, Dr. C. Stay well. ❤

As always excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally I've found another narrator whose voice I like.
Through good earphones you often sound very similar to Morgan Freeman. 😄
Cheers mate.

He knows that no face could live up to that amazing voice of his! 😉
I enjoyed it, thanks! It was like listening to one of those old-time radio shows. You should do one of those regularly.
More to come!
@@DrCreepen I'm counting on it. Thank you Doc. Your stories are far better than the wasteland that is TV "programming".
Downloaded and thank you
I love these sci fi stories!
Yay!
When you describe the blue things all I could think about was Rick and Morty 😂😂 absolutely epic story though keep up the good work bud x
I like the causal sectapod just chilling in the thumbnail
The earth might? Be doomed? ...you put on you comedy hat coming up with that. The earth is in the shithouse....CHEERS
Vary cool. Thanks Doc

I love how it lresented itself like a pulp fiction story from the 1930s.
😎 Awesome job 😎
Sci-fi, hey; Dearest Doctor?!
Let's listen....
Just Arlock's luck, spend 540 years to prepare an alien invasion, just to stumble upon Flash Gordon and Princess Leia. These aliens never learn.
Relaxing day cuz im ill and here i am with doc 💎💎
I like that story
something about that fight scene makes me think of trying to disable a tank with a cutting torch.
Thank you for your narration and thank you Author, great story. Greg Chaney in coastal N.C
Arlock: "I'll be baahck"
The only thing missing from that plot is a Vogon reading bad poetry. The gate explanation seems very familiar to Stargate. Wonder if this was an inspiration? 🤔
When the creepypasta mentions streets you live near...
Loved it

Och Sci-Fi stories 😁something different 👍🙋♀️💗🥰

Well, 100 horsepower isn't exactly something to write home about

It's 5:27 am and I had to open a 🍺. Docs orders 😆.
DOPE!!!
I like it. For some reason it reminds me of those cheap sci-fi horror books of the 80s
Well done sci-fi
Got a heavy noir/diesel punk vibes with this one.
nice backdrop

One correction.. Reigel is a blue hypergiant star... You mentioned the zoran world as having red sun...
Oh hey! The voice is different! I’m not falling asleep anymore!
Very interesting
Glad you think so!
