Thanks to everyone for making this hit 100k views. This is pretty much the first story I recorded after I'd moved to the Netherlands, so it will always be a special one for me. Enjoy!
This story stirs some strange 'nostalgic longing with a twist of adventure' feeling for me.. I can see why it's special for you in context of your move. Also, I've listened 3 times since the day it dropped.. glad I could push it past 100k mark for ya 😂
It'll always be special for me too, Doc, this and the Cabin story you so graciously read out. I hope to someday have something new and juicy to offer your subreddit, but I've become horribly stagnant and focused on work. Here's hoping. Keep at it, Doc!
Congratulations Dr. Creepen. I hope you are enjoying living there now. Have a superb Sunday♡♡
Dr creepen ya never reply. I've done a bit of travelling over the years but you seem to get to the good places ie Istanbul any advice for someone looking away from the UK again after covid
awesome story Dr. Creepen
Dr. Creepen: "I hope you have 2 hours to spend this evening"
Me who absolutely does not have 2 hours to spend this evening: "I'm listening"
Doc put a lot more work into this than I thought was needed, definitely more than I would've ever asked of him!
I've had 24hrs since we all got the China bloody flu
Hello Doc and friends! Author here! I remember Doc commented on his feelings about my story over on the subreddit a while back, but I was not expecting it to be done this soon! Doc is truly a saint for having put what was clearly a MASSIVE amount of time into this narration, so be sure you keep giving him love!
Unlike the other two stories he has so graciously narrated, this story was two years in the making, having languished forgotten and incomplete much of that time, and it went through a few different formats. It started as a day-by-day POV-style lost journal, then was abandoned, and finally I found it and gave it the finish it deserved, which was much better than I expected it to be. What I like to call "Redcoat-era horror" is something I aim to expand upon and, if the stars align, perhaps you'll see a short piece of mine over on the subreddit this December!
Thank you all for your kind words and, once again, thank you Doc for this making this titanic undertaking! Makes me glad I saved this story from oblivion all that time back.
Great story keep that keyboard clacking
Great story! Would love to see this as a movie! You’re a very talented writer, thanks for The entertainment
Very nicely done! The lines of the each person gives them so much character, the atmosphere was also so damn great!!
I have to admit I really really enjoyed this one. You did awesome!
@@A.A.L I agree. I would love to see this become a movie it was a great story.
When he says Abes word rang through his head for some reason i just heard echoing“Don’t tell the captain about the gin”
"Snitches get stitches, Daniel..."
😂
This was one of the best written and narrated stories I've heard in a very long time. Kudos to the writer. Also to the narrator, ...of course. Well done.
I'm honored, Robyne! Overall I like how this story turned out after a long time on ice, but I'm always surprised at how people enjoy my work. It's not really a humility thing, just perspective I suppose. Either way, the amount of praise and support I've seen in this comment section is deeply cherished!
@@MrEvan312 Well Deserved.
Mysterious island stories are a genre there really could have more of. Thank you Doctor!
Luciano Ben-Malek that and more ocean, space and military stories.
@@crob763 exactly! I'm surprised there's so few of them!

Mysterious islands, particularly in the age of sail or the colonial times, are indeed a relatively untapped genre. We'll see if I can fix that, but in the meantime there is this tale :) I'm glad you enjoyed, Luciano!
Please don't stop what you're doing doc it is seriously helping me in my life
A nice long story for the 300 miles left to drive today. So I buckle up and put the rig in gear and listen away.
Hope you had a safe ride, Lisle! And I hope you enjoyed!
@@MrEvan312 great work my friend
Keep em rolling. Rubber side down!
A well written, eloquently spoken masterpiece. Hats off to the Doc for picking this one up and a well deserved congratulations to the author of this heartfelt, disturbing little gem.
Thank you, Brian! Daniel's probably one of my most emotionally-developed characters in probably any of my completed works, and he's definitely the most eloquent.
I am shocked it took me 3 years before I discovered this Gem of a story! I love these Old Timey, Sea-Worthy Mysterious Island stories. They really TAKE ME AWAY! A+ Author & Story & A+ Narration too! Dr. Creepen, I just LOVE your Classy sounding & Stately voice! YOU would be FABULOUS doing voice over narrations for Big Movies of these type stories ! WOW! ❤❤❤❤
That was *brilliant*! Beautifully written, masterfully performed. Truly one of the best spooky stories of recent times. Bravo!
Dude I just want to tell you how much of a godsend you are with always releasing long-form creepypastas (and obviously doing a bang-up job with the narration!!)
I am exclusively a fan of creepypastas that are at least 40 minutes long and up, and your channel is the oooonly one that reliably produces this length pastas.
Thanks for all you dude, Dr. Creepen
My pleasure... Enjoy!
Doc's is a labor of love, the amount of time he spends looking for and making long-read narrations... he truly is a god-send. I'm glad you enjoyed, Edward!
I felt an actual electric jolt of excitement course through my mind when I realized that not only does the title sound like something I’m really going to enjoy, my favorite narrator uploaded it 🙌🏼👌🏼
I'll tell you, I was quite happy to see this in my subscription list this morning. I hope you did indeed enjoy, Sonja!
Who dares dislike a video before they even had a chance to finish it
Heresy, I tell you!

Mabe idits dat kunt reed!
This story made me cry because the men so far anyway, treat the young ones with care and respect and it just feels so wholesome and warm. Like all Greek tragidys ( can't spell) it sets up the kindness and good so when the darkness comes you feel so much more for the characters. That is the key to great story telling. Or formula. I'm 41, and I feel like I remember a time of my youth when I didn't know how cruel and how nasty humans really are today. I wish I was back there. That you.
I'm happy that it struck a chord with you, this story is one of my best instances of true emotional investment in my characters partially because of how long it took to write.
spooky island genre, love it. Just like empty houses, basements, attics, caves, forests, abandoned buildings, rituals, etc etc etc...
Hell yeah :D
These epic stories involving the sea are some of my favorites. The visual of the ocean was soothing. Your accent was great for Lobo. The tale was suspenseful. Thank you. Have a superb Sunday and I do hope you are enjoying living in Amsterdam ♡♡
Thanks for spending extra time with us.
Hope you're settling in nicely.
That one was a bit slow getting started off, but I'm glad I listened. Thanks, Doc.
A lot of people have talked about the pacing I set for this story which I don't know if I consciously paid attention to. This story is a complete overhaul of the original day-by-day, lost journal entry format which would've been agonizing the way I wrote it. I'm glad it was worth the listen, NoName!
This was truly awesome, filled with fear and suspense. It's one of the best I've listened to, The Hollows and The Hills another. I do like the long ones. Both are excellent!
End of my night shift. Got chamomile tea. Got 2 hours to relax before I go to sleep. Thank you
Thank YOU for listening, D!
Incredible narration, Great story thanks!
Thanks, CGS!
It's CGS. He's here to cover Isla Sirena with the Blue Mist and let the monsters battle it out.
I swear, I love ALL historical fiction. I also love mythology. Historical scary mythological fiction just makes it that much better! Thanks, Doc! And thanks to you, awesome author! (I can't read your name while commenting, sorry)
I think that historical fictional horror has a lot of potential, and I am to start doing more stories in this fashion, like the Hundred Year War, maybe ancient Greece (adding my own twist on existing monsters perhaps). I'm glad you enjoyed it, LadyFaery!
"Amaze them and fill that book" are the words i hear as I open my new scetchbook and settle down to do some drawing :)
Take care on your sea voyage, shiny ;)
This is one of the best stories ever. I was captivated right from the start.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, one of the best decisions in my life was rescuing this from a slow death and being left unfinished.
What's up do Doc. Sounds like you probably put a lot into this long one. And on a Monday too! Aren't we lucky! Thanks Doc! I bet the traveler element connects with you.
been recording this one on and off for a couple of weeks to be honest
I'm glad you enjoyed, Cody! This is one of my longest pieces, but had I known it would take so much work for Doc I don't know if I would've shared it. He's a saint :D
Listening to this felt like watching a movie. I loved the atmospheric pacing and the historical setting. Glad I saved this for the long day at work today instead of listening the second you posted it lol ^_^
I'm a little lost for words. That was incredible. What a story. What a narration. Thanks again good sir (Doffs hat)
Dr. your voice is so soothing its hard to get through your vids without napping. Amazing content as always though. This video also puts me in mind of a song called Seven Widows Weep by a band named Sirenia. How fitting
That is interesting indeed, Nefertiti! I'm glad you enjoyed!
Yay a long story! A fabulous way to spend a rainy afternoon before an evening of American high school football.
How can anyone dislike this?
Thank you for reading this. I started this story on two other accounts but always fell asleep halfway through
THANK YOU SO MUCH DOC!!! 2+ hours!! I got dinner made and laundry done.😁
Fantabulous story loved it!
Beautiful. Simply beautliful. Amazing story sir, hope there will be more stories from this time period.
It's a genre I've titled "redcoat horror" and I indeed hope I can return to my writing roots someday and add some more decent stories like it! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I also did one about Valley Forge that Doc narrated for Christmas but it pales in comparison to this story.
This was fantastic!! ♥
I love all of your work Dr Creepen, I really loved this one and your voice is the best to go to sleep to. Cheers from Australia my friend 👏👍☺🎉😆

Thank YOU for listening, Punkin!
MrEvan312, no problem. I really enjoyed the story.
Oh boy I can't wait to listen to this one Doc. Mysterious Island stories are the best.

♥️ Thank you SO MUCH Doc for masterfully narrating yet another wonderful tale for all of your loving Subscribers! I pray you and your loved ones are staying happy and healthy! 😁
Love from Texas ♥️🤠🌴
Great narration and story with a new spin on the mythology of sirens...great job
Thanks! I aim to do a lot more ancient/pre-modern era stories that have a twist on established monsters, like in this case while the songs of the sirens is familiar, the creatures themselves are quite different: some sort of intangible, invisible voices that possess humans as hosts
The days you upload are the highlight of my high stressed life. I hope all is going well for you in your new home.
Yes!!! Spoiling us with a longen, thanks Doc
A long-un indeed, I was truly not expecting it to be just over two hours! It's one of my longest pieces, but still!
It's been 31 seconds since you've uploaded this vedio and I'm already here 🖤
I personally came across this in my subscription list when I got up to go pick up my moped and found out that Christmas had come much earlier this year!

Really loving these long ones
Thank you, doc.
Thank YOU for listening, SG!
I love this story so much I've listened to it three times so far
I'm both flattered and shocked that you dedicated an entire 6 hours to listening to my work :D thanks for listening, Kim!
@@MrEvan312 you bet! I have never done that before pretty much the dedicated every night for an entire week and listen to it three times! I really really enjoyed it thank you for your amazing creativity!
Oh wow. Here already. YAY. Hi Doctor! Hope you are well! I just woke up so extra fun as will hear the entire thing! Giggles. THIS was as always amazingly told in the most amazing of voices. It was also a very very good story, every bit as good as some classics I have read!
Indeed, I wasn't expecting it to be done so soon or that he had already started working on it. I'll tell you, what a joy it was to wake up and see this in my subscriptions :D I'm glad you enjoyed, E, I feel that "redcoat-era horror" or I guess you could call it classical horror, needs more expansion: horror written in those darker times would be so much more overwhelming than in the more modern times.
@@MrEvan312 Absolutely agreed. No electric lights. No phones. Months to travel over unknown seas. Medicines and and science in early stages. Huge unknowns. Episodes like Roanoke.
Wow that was excellent! Thank you so much Doc! Your exceptional narration really draws me in and brings these stories to life. I can't get enough!
I love the irritation he has with his sister...and he gets a little grumpy because she has no chores. I remember growing up and feeling that exact same way
As the middle of three sons, I got the vast majority of the work to do at home even today, so I definitely vented a bit of my own frustration there :D one of my biggest downfalls with this story was just letting Ariel vanish the way she did without Daniel trying to save her, a bit of a gap that I never patched.
I’ve been listening to your narrations for a few months now. I came across them by pure chance! I absolutely love your work! Thank you 😁
Thanks for listening, Amy! Come to think of it, I cannot remember how or when I came across my first Doc narration. Feels like many years ago.
This should be made into short film.
I would love to see it done someday, maybe as an anime-styled horror but I feel an indie live action group could do this as well.
holy cow this was great many thx for the narrating and many thx to the guy, who has written this story. really good stuff.
I love stories like this. It was so good! I love stories based on olden times, early settlements, colonial days, & even old westerns. Anybody have any good recommendations of stories like I listed above?
Mom loved this one. We listened while she baked scones and pastries! It was double the treat!🥰
I'm very glad you and yours enjoyed, Fluff! Nothing like working with food while a tale is spun in the background.
Fantastic tale! I absolutely love stories like this. They're old, timeless and speak volumes. Thank you so much! 😘
Thank you, Bleak! I feel the olden days like Colonial America or even earlier times have a lot of untapped potential for effective horror, given that our very science was still in its infancy and plagued with dogma and fear. The world seemed a lot bigger, scarier back then, and we were so much less equipped.
Tonight our story..........
Dude its three in the afternoon.
Gonna be evening by the time you finish :D
You should have listened to it at night. Jumping ahead to listen through the day is cheating.
Have you not heard of Time Zones...?

Wow, what an amazing story to be so very well written AND to have one of the Finest narrators that I’m aware of to bring it to life! I’d truly love to hear more of this type of island story, I’ve only heard this area tapped a couple of times for very short tales. All in all, I suppose they did better than they would’ve had they been on Isla Nublar or Isla Sorna. (To all those who got that reference, you rock 👍). Keep picking these winners good Dr!
I DO get that reference, Jack (a lovely coincidental first name, by the way) and actually that's what came to mind when naming the island: islands in POTC like Isla Cruce. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@MrEvan312 I listened to this again a year later and it is just as great as the first time. Such an excellent job you did! I love the islands disappearance, as if it was swept away from existence, leaving no trace that it was ever there, and the damage done. And beyond all of the macabre massacre, still a fairly happy ending, I suppose it’s different to everyone, the size of the loss vs the gain. But I find it quite beautiful. Thanks again for your work, I hope to come across more of it..👍
@@MrEvan312 and I still have one question, are the main characters long ago predecessors of Rudyard Kipling?
@@jackdurden466 Thank you once again, man :) I do think it's one of my best endings, and this story saw probably the best character developments and interactions of just about any story I've done so I'm really proud of Daniel, Abigail, and the others. It's probably my masterpiece...
As for your question I THINK someone actually asked me that before as well and no: a) I actually had never heard of the man beforehand, at least not enough to set in my mind, and b) something I unintentionally did in the story was that Daniel and Abby have no children despite a close and loving marriage and being young and healthy. They also seem to have aged unnaturally fast; I think in a way I can retconn it as the curse, in the end, having its own effects on them and taking its secrets to the grave with them, all but what is kept in the journal.
Wonderful!!! Epic sea stories are marvelous, pulling as they do, to our first home. Love catching up!
Holy Cow! This was awesome, just bloody brilliant! I have no idea how I managed to fall asleep 3 nights in a row trying to finish it but I was excited each night to recap and plug on til I got it finished. ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Great story Dr Creepen!

Brilliant story. Lengthly and full of detail along with it's unique topic.
Thanks, MrLapidary! I feel that 1700's/earlier horror style stories have a lot of potential, coming from times of less understanding and with more parts of the world undiscovered, etc. For some reason I have a fascination with setting Redcoats against supernatural forces in general, you may see a much, much shorter piece of mine in December on the subreddit.
