I've been dealing with major anxiety lately and these stories are often the best way for me to switch off at night.
The fact that the characters in virtually all these stories just want to stand around and talk, or worse ruminate on their feelings, instead of actually doing something increases my anxiety. If you were in the lab building, with the alarms screaming, blood smeared along the walls and workstations violently abandoned, with nobody around except for an infected murder monster behind an unlocked door twenty-feet away from you, would you stop to discuss things and make phone calls?

Finally a zombie story. I love Zombies and wish I got a little more of them in creepypastas given that the usual monsters get a bit boring after a while

Fifteen minutes before the alarms go off: A Doctor keeping shotguns and riot gear in a scientific research facility is completely paranoid and unprofessional!
Fifteen minutes after the alarms: Doctor, I have reconsidered my earlier statement...you wouldn't mind loaning me a shotgun would you?
Yea here, take an AR-15, A couple frag grenades and a shield to cover your backside so I don't have to do it.
The "gun nut" is always "paranoid"-- until the sh!t hits the fan!
Much Praise to the author Alice B. Sullivan! An excellent story of a doctor accepting his failure and a wife standing by all along. Quite similar to the many remakes of “I Am Legend” with Will Smith, the virologist who created a cancer “cure”, using the Measles virus altered to fight for the body rather than against. And of course it all goes to Hell. Good movie, only He didn’t create the virus, he fought to solve it. To the Dr I applaud as everytime I listen, he delivers without fail a perfect narration for our entertainment. An excellent story done exceptionally well! 👍👍👍

You nailed it Doctor. Unleashing the zombie apocalypse isn’t just careless - it’s irresponsible ! Great genuinely involving story as always sir and I also want to say how glad I am and congratulations for being such a prominent presence in the brave new world of Audible. It’s always intimidating and a bit sad to venture into new pastures. But as long as I can hear the voice of Dr Creepen it still feels like home. Ian Gordon and Drew Blood and Jason Hill are there too which is great but as you know full well you were the Doctor who delivered me into the world of great horror storytelling. I hope I wasn’t too sticky.

@tamsintarhirsh Hey! It isn’t my video, so I have no power over comment removal, so if you think your comments are being removed, it isn’t by me, but I also doubt the Doctor would do that. RE wasn’t an inspiration for SYMBIOSIS. This story was an original concept by me, meaning I didn’t gather any inspiration from anywhere when conjuring it. I wanted to do parasites, so I created a story based on bioengineered parasite mutations. Also, just so you know for future reference, if a writer were to get inspiration or an idea from another work, it can’t be copyrighted. There was also no plagiarism anywhere in my story. About half way through the story, the protagonists are still trying to get out of this research lab. As they escape they see all of their co-workers infected and zombified. But what occurs to me, is how did these two people avoid infection, when all these other people, who are also scientists, have been infected? why are they the only ones in the building uninfected? And how did they get isolated in the building, not noticing all hell breaking loose all around them? Not much to the story. The story of a medical miracle, used carelessly, that turns out to be curse.

Its been awhile since I've come here I love the stories but hate waking up every hour to avoid ads and start it again or next.
So I just leave mc pastas 24/7 video playing but not happily lol I hear a new story once every weeks mayb know most stories so well I know its that story after a sentence or two.
If this channel had a 24-7 it would be amazing bcos the stories are 1-3hrs on average so even after hearing them afew times you forget things.
Not so much when the average video is 12min long though.

@sly dankass That sort of thing has more potential to be real. You only have to see the unfortunate people who use the drug 'Spice' on the streets of Manchester (UK) to see that they are well on the way to being that sort of zombie. Maybe combined with amphetamines, a 'real' zombie could be created.

So this is a kind of a mix between Resident Evil 2 and 28 Days Later??? The whole "im been trying to make a cure for my sick kid" and they seem to be more violent like 28 Days Later infected (they ARE NOT ZOMBIES In 28 Days Later)
Hey! Resident Evil is definitely one of my favorite games, and 28 Days/Weeks Later are fantastic movies, but neither were inspirations for SYMBIOSIS. I totally see the similarities, though. I consume zombie fiction like it’s my life support, and researching to create SYMBIOSIS was quite fun! (:
