The Veloster N has been with us for a while now, but old doesn't necessarily mean bad. Do you think the Hyundai has what it takes in this showdown against the most powerful Golf VW has ever made?
2:35 the Golf R does not "make 30 more hp." It is rated 40hp more... if it was actually MAKING just 40hp more... due to the weight and the drivetrain loss of the Golf R AWD, they would be about even... BUT, clearly they are not. This is because the Golf R although RATED 40hp more, is actually MAKING about 100hp more. So, correctly stated, "the Golf R is rated 40hp more from the factory, but in actuality it should be rated 100hp more, because it makes 100hp more on the dyno, but because of the drivetrain loss and extra weight, it will not seem like 100hp more, but maybe just 50hp more." Not fair competition. Should have been gti vs veloster.
I really want the i30n here
Love this style of drag racing but the whole video could have been about Lauren to great success I think.
Guys! I think it will be close if you put the Mini cooper gp against to VW golf R. Great video!
The GP smokes the Golf R
Voltswagen golfs R and Honday veloster N
I'd like to see the Golf R vs Mustang GT since they're the same price
The R would kill it from a dig....
@@RDriver2.0 depends if it was a 6spd or 10spd
I have to say that Veloster is a good hot hatch but NEVER be equal to golf R. Sorry about rest of hot hatch's!!
Who at edmunds thought this was a good matchup 🤦♂️.. why didn’t they race a GTI instead of a golf R for a much fairer comparison ?
The Veloster N is quicker than GTI
@@someguy2773no it isn’t. LOL. U drag time for GTI is 38.5secs.
Respectable showing for the Veloster N it stayed in the same zip code lol
The new R is a beast; no way it's only making 315.
It's more like 332 hp. I've seen several dynos of them and they're usually around 332 hp
@@USMC062999 That would be around 400 at the crank
Should have been vs gti.
Where they both win is in being over priced PO’S
golf r anyday of the week
