As someone who died a lot at that tunnel, I love it. Maybe it's because of the sheer amount of classic Doom fan-made maps that I've played, but I really like it when the level itself is as much of a danger as the enemies themselves.
Honestly one of the most draining experiences I've had with Ultrakill, passing even my first attempt at P-ranking 6-1, which didn't leave my brain a puddle of mush unlike this level. Currently on the grind for that P rank, and honestly, the bosses are the easiest part of the level IMO. Though my first attempt of them *was* longer than the arena fights, it was mainly learning the moves and getting into the Prime Soul Dance groove that makes Minos a cakewalk nowadays.
I must admit, despite your struggles to beat this level, your tenacity is something to be admired in and of itself. Ironic, isn’t it? You almost resemble King Sisyphus, trying desperately to complete a nigh impossible task for an eternity, do you not? I must say, fine work. I am most certainly impressed with your dedication.
Oh dw I'm very happy lol. Some people seem to think I'm bothered about how many restarts I had, all I can think is how much more bangin the main channel video is gonna be because of this. Not to mention a win is a win, always time to "get gud" at this level later.
The fact you had the will to go on for over 6 hours is crazy to me. After 2 hours I was almost done (during which I actually managed to beat him, and am slowly getting my time down), so the fact you just continued fighting is by itself incredibly impressive.
This level took me three hours and three hundred deaths. Never have I had so much fun being so utterly and completely humbled. It took me 50 days of grinding to finally P rank it after release, and it was absolutely worth it. I admire your patience and perseverance, I wish I had the same.
my thoughts previously to p-2 were like "yeah, i'm going to stop playing for a while because I don't want p-2 to be too easy" IT COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED ME. stopped playing was my biggest mistake. I still haven't got my P rank, I die every time at the last room and ragequit instantly
Watching your brain melt and be completely drained mid-way through the combat was very relatable, I don't think I'll get good enough at this game to P-rank this level, it's my human limit
This level was batshit insane. My end time was 84 minutes with 133 restarts, but was probably longer cause I'd alt tab and watch some youtube to keep myself sane during the Sisyphus fight, heh. And I was just playing on standard. Tried going into it blind on violent, but the 2 idol'd mindflayers showed me that "Yeah I'm not doing this on violent". Arenas feel a little bit forced, but overall I enjoyed this level. I just P ranked it today on standard too, so guess I'll have to try violent soon enough :'3 Gotta say you have a lot of patience to do this for 6+ hours, even if it was just because you didn't wanna do arenas again. Overall fun update, and I'm excited for what act 3 will have in store.
I actually spent the same 6 hours amount of time to p-rank it after beating it two times. It's such a nightmare. The mindflayers and blood tunnel were my downfall. Ferryman and the stalker were also my main problem. But at least i did it
For P-rank my plan is to basically learn the level in reverse, get really comfortable and consistent on Sisyphus and Flesh Panopticon, and then focus on learning the arenas.
I kinda just found out strats as i went through and how i could make certain areas easier for myself or a part that's annoying/difficult just finding a way to get past it in five seconds or take minimum damage.
I had to just go through the level on repeat for a couple hours. Eventually my time and restarts went down and then one lucky run I beat it. The rooms before the boss are definitely harder to master since there are a lot more enemies and variables. Definitely struggled with mindflayer rooms the most but once I got those down, it was a pretty comfortable P-rank. You can dodge Sisyphus almost entirely with reaction time. When he disappears, he's above you and slamming down, so you jump and dash. When he does the clap motion, you dodge to the side. At the end of his combo attacks, the 4th and final attack he slams the ground and creates a shockwave so you jump. You learn the attacks and you're good.
@@doug2555 Yeah i started to notice a lot of ways to dodge his combos but i still have a hard time with the same parts im good at especially in phase two
968 restarts…. Jesus christ idk if I’d have the willpower to sustain that many losses in a single day. Well done, you deserve this achievement, although I do worry for P-3.
you absolute machine . you stood strong for five hours against the unmatched power of the sun most of my friends gave up after two hours but wow . insane.congratulations dude i wish u the best of luck on ur p rank (if you decide to go for it)
This boss was hard as fuck, I'm glad you were able to complete it. I was completely frustrated with only 200 restarts and about to give up several times more than anything on the sisyphus part which I don't think I could have done without the saws, rockets, magnets and parrys. me with 200 restarts was crying and screaming in frustration while you with 800 restarts saying "peepoo coming for p-3". The stream was good and funny, I'll wait for that p-rank video
Bro. Beating this on violent had me begging God for a W. After almost an hour I got the bastard with a D rank. I literally P rank minos on violent as a warmup for the cyber grind. What the fuck is even this boss fight
Maybe. But I think the difficulty of the arenas is warning enough to come back if you really aren't ready. I would be interested to see if P-ranking all the prime sanctums will unlock something down the road though.
A niche, but sometimes useful trick I used in the room with the Stalker is just bombing him with rockets. That way he's in the sky, unable to move, and therefore cover other enemies in sand. I'll probably try to stick him to the wall with nails after the break. This level beat the soul outta me
I honestly totally forgot you could even do this, there's so few stalkers in the game you can usually just one shot them with the slab pistol before they can do too much damage. (I also don't play cybergrind where I'm sure a trick like that is more useful)
@@DumpsterManVODs bruh I found this out by accident while rocket-spamming the Ferryman. And then started to abuse that in later attempts, which was especially helpful on second and third "phases"
Also in the Flesh Prison fight the easiest way to destroy those yellow balloons IMO is to just whiplash to them over and over whilst dodging the laser attacks. At least that's the most consistent way of dealing with them for me
Red pistol was not even in the game when this was recorded lmao, and SRS released with this patch I hadn't even had a chance to experiment with it much before I jumped into this level for the first time.
Fwiw, it's a little easier now than the patch I played on. You can at least parry Sisyphus's attacks in phase 2 which was a huge reason for his increased difficulty on Violent. That said... It's still tough as nails lol
Hakita wasn’t joking when he said P-2 would be MUCH harder than P-1. I was barely able to P rank P-2 on Standard earlier. I’m not going to try to P rank it on Violent until I get a LOT more practice in, especially against Sisyphus Prime and the ferrymen.
I haven't played P-2 on Standard, I'm sure it's still hard as hell so excellent job on the P-Rank, but I feel like this might be the biggest difficulty jump from Standard to Violent in the entire game. No parries on Sisyphus phase 2 is an actual nightmare, and hard damage is a slow and insidious killer throughout the entire level.
It really didn't feel like almost 1000, it makes me wonder actually how many manual restarts from checkpoint I did, my guess was like 100 but it easily could've been more.
It was an enjoyable experience as people were swatted like flies for trying to tell someone how to play the game even though he specifically asked not to.
A lot of people got unbanned in the end, but I do think the threat of being banned made chat a lot better. I will never understand why that's some people's default, is just to assume people need/want help, but all I can do is run my own stream how I prefer it I guess.
Bruh when this update had just came out, i got my ass handed to me by sisyphis, amd the one time i finally managed to beat him, he killed me in the last moment. I ragequitted after that, but i eventually went back and finally beat him. Dear god hes a fucking nightmare.
People got thinking this way about the Act 2 bosses and it led to a lot of people being disappointed in their difficulty. Act 3 will be a step up from act 2, no doubt, but I highly doubt it'll be anywhere comparable to P-2.
Personally I think I'll rather wait for Act 3 to be completely finished and then come back to it. It's a bit underwhelming to think how so many people waited for greed when it can be Pranked in 4 hours
1 hour in: "Ok, you know, how about we don't ban them (backseaters), just time them out for the rest of the stream, for a couple of hours" Little did he know...
6 hours and 968 restarts... i dont even know how patient do you need to be to do that, when i was playing this level, it took me 2 hours and ~250 attempts, and i felt completely nothing inside of me, i was so frustrated from the boss, so angry at his attacks, i was just about to give up. I swear, if i would give up, i would never play that level ever again, and i cant even believe how did you made it to the end. You truly deserve something for it.
Hey, wanted to say.. you are the person that got me into playing ULTRAKILL, after this video, i really don't want to play P-2... looks almost impossible
It was painful but rewarding, I think if I was more prepared for what was coming my way I might've fared better. I still recommend giving it a try but, you do you!
@@DumpsterManVODs So hey, after 30 min and 13 seconds and 44 atempts, i finaly killed it on Standart. that was 3 weeks ago, today finaly after so many attempts. I P ranked this level. And you are right.. definetly worth it, after all the trying... I don't regret a SECOND of it!
The fact people are already able to speed run this level, only means that the difficulty will have another drastic jump with further updates, I wonder if an actual skill cap will be reached where speed running isn’t as fast
It's no secret I sometimes take pretty big breaks from this game between major content drops (no exception for P-2), but I am genuinely worried I will not be able to maintain a high enough skill level for P-3 at the rate I currently play. I never in a million years thought P-2 would've dumpstered me like this, so this was a very rude awakening. Still a lot of time to learn and improve but I am definitely worried what P-3 and the higher difficulties will bring. I'm sure some top players and speedrunners will be able to trivialize it no matter what though, the one constant of Ultrakill LOL.
My first attempt took me nearly an hour to get to the boss, and I proceeded to spend the next six hours dying to Sisyphus repeatedly. I didn't want to give up because I didn't want to rerun the entire gauntlet to get to him. However, it being almost 5 in the morning convinced me otherwise, and so today, two days later, I finally beat him (without the gauntlet run now that there's a shortcut). First session I had probably 700 restarts and didn't kill him, but I learned a lot. Today took half an hour and 56 restarts. Good lord Hakita. I have P-ranked the game on Violent, including Minos, but this on Standard utterly destroyed me.
@@MadamLava094 sorry but most people used that kinda statement to be sarcastic and mock the level. I can't differentiate between the people trying to make it seem like the level was a huge letdown and useless and people just messing around, mb
honestly man, this level is amazing, but the four major criticisms I have of this level are: -for the flesh panopticon to have such a hyped up fight, it's just a fake out to subvert expectations for sisyphus prime. I understand that Hakita made this level to subvert expectations to the player, but it would've been nice if we could fight it until the first health bar was drained and THEN sisyphus breaks out and busses it down on you sexual style. I really liked Pandemonium as a song as well, and the fight was pretty cool. -I think this is the first time in Ultrakill where I think there needs to be a slight difficulty DECREASE, mainly in the room with 2 idoled mindflayers and ESPECIALLY the idol stalker room, that was hell. The difficulty spike in this level is INSANE. Maybe for that room just remove 2 sentries? Remove 1 virtue and 2 cerberi? Or something like that? no idea honestly -Sisyphus prime in the lore is supposed to be a maniacal crazy tyrant who would lie, cheat, and steal without remorse for his comrades. But when you fight him his lines feel like they're said a little...flat. Don't get me wrong, the voice actor chosen for him is AMAZING, but I personally think the lines could have been said a little more flamboyantly -Sisyphus also just feels like a harder version of Minos Prime. He's got the dash, the uppercuts, the slam down shockwave, he has one projectile, and staying in the air against Sisyphus is a death sentence. Some people could see as a good thing, but I guess I was just hoping for it to be more unique. Definitely cool fight though Overall, great boss, great level, disappointing on the flesh panopticon (i want justice), and my PTSD forces me to never want to see an idoled stalker again. What do you think?
What I did to deal with the idoled stalker is that I literally just used the rocket launcher to launch him as far away as possible if he ever got close to any other enemies until the first phase was done, then i picked off the turrets one by one, hiding by the ramp whenever the turrets were about to fire. That room gave me more trouble than the mindflayer one or Sisyphus prime himself. Honestly, I prefer minos prime because of his lore, his iconic line delivery, and maybe I’ve just gotten better at the game but I think I died more to him than Sisyphus
I think Hakita might be doing a full Flesh Panopticon fight in the 'encore levels' he has planned. Idk for sure tho, mainly heard this info from other people on different vids
1, panopticon would’ve made the level drawn out much longer since you had to deal with the shit in all the rooms prior, the level is already long enough with the panopticon fake out, 2 no it does not need anymore difficulty decreases because it is a PRIME SANCTUM and it it supposed to be extremely difficult, hence why you need to p rank act 2 to even get in, 3 no, they really aren’t “flat” it’s just his character, he was much more cold and likely lacked the same emotion Minos prime had. 4 I ageee with
@@aquablue1780 1. maybe so, so i suppose the better thing to do would just to make it so that sisyphus breaks out after it reaches half health on its first bar 2. he did a slight difficulty decrease by removing a cerberus from the idol stalker room and decreasing the health of non-boss ferrymen. There is such a thing as too high of a difficulty spike 3. Hakita also raised the volume of Sisyphus' voicelines so i suppose he realized it was a bit flat and solved the problem the best he could, since probably re-doing all the voice lines for sisyphus would've costed ALOT of money. Or he just thought the volume was too low 4. On replays of P-2, I actually really like Sisyphus prime with his minos-like combat, even if it's kinda close to minos. Still fun though.
Seeing you not even managing to leave the first room makes me feel better since I couldn't even leave that little room and died 9 times there, 8 of them were due to the fricking ferryman I think we have the same skill level, you were suffering just as much as I was
I don't know either, but if there's anywhere to test the limits of 'too much' it's definitely prime sanctums. Both dreading and looking forward to what Hakita cooks up next.

One must imagine dumpster man happy
Oh dw I'm very happy lol. Some people seem to think I'm bothered about how many restarts I had, all I can think is how much more bangin the main channel video is gonna be because of this. Not to mention a win is a win, always time to "get gud" at this level later.
Man, those arenas are absolute savage
Invicible stalker and 3 mindflayers is really something.
Where tf did you get a 3rd mindflayer
I kinda want to like to imagine that minos learned you to predict attacks, and Sisyphus wants you to predict movements
Now THAT is determination
Time to overcome my Ultraskillissue and fight the sun
Imagine if instead of being followed by those Mind Flayers you were followed by an idolded *Minos*
Shhhh don't leak P-3
The fact you had the will to go on for over 6 hours is crazy to me. After 2 hours I was almost done (during which I actually managed to beat him, and am slowly getting my time down), so the fact you just continued fighting is by itself incredibly impressive.
I almost definitely would've done better if I had just come back another day, but fuck it we ball. A win is a win.
now imagine how hard 5-S is, truely the level of all time
Im glad I'm not the only one who got rocked by this haha
My first clear was 4 hours and 353 restarts. Nice one man, the second clear is always easier!
This level took me three hours and three hundred deaths. Never have I had so much fun being so utterly and completely humbled. It took me 50 days of grinding to finally P rank it after release, and it was absolutely worth it. I admire your patience and perseverance, I wish I had the same.
my thoughts previously to p-2 were like "yeah, i'm going to stop playing for a while because I don't want p-2 to be too easy"
IT COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED ME. stopped playing was my biggest mistake. I still haven't got my P rank, I die every time at the last room and ragequit instantly
Sisyphus ultimately lost to his own technique, the indomitable human spirit
should've called it "How ULTRAKILL's NEWEST hardest boss 'destroyed' my soul…"
Already planning on the main channel video being similar title to this.
hakita rolls "hardest level ever" asked to remove hard damage.
the fact that there is still a difficulty that has not been released scares me
Two, in fact.
Watching your brain melt and be completely drained mid-way through the combat was very relatable, I don't think I'll get good enough at this game to P-rank this level, it's my human limit
1:45:04 for boss hatching time
I really cant imagine what P-3 is gonna be like after this
This level was batshit insane. I just P ranked it today on standard too, so guess I'll have to try violent soon enough :'3
Gotta say you have a lot of patience to do this for 6+ hours, even if it was just because you didn't wanna do arenas again.
Overall fun update, and I'm excited for what act 3 will have in store.
"P Rank P-2"
Bet*
*may require a few months
i spent 1 hour 23 on this and i thought that was bad but got damn, this fight reall was pushing a boulder up a hill forever
Best can do is D (for now)
I had to just go through the level on repeat for a couple hours.
I like how the actual buttfuck of a battle gauntlet is more challenging than Sisyphus himself
you absolute machine . you stood strong for five hours against the unmatched power of the sun most of my friends gave up after two hours but wow . insane.congratulations dude i wish u the best of luck on ur p rank (if you decide to go for it)
I have only seen a couple of your vids, but this is going on in the background when I do homework for sure
We should not have let Hakita cook.
I let Walter cook not hakita
the stage took me 200 restarts and honestly I was malding with just that
Beating P-2 on Violent was already insane, now just think about doing it when the Ultrakill Must Die difficulty releases...
After dying a grand total of 193 times in this level, I'm genuinely worried about what will P-3 be like
50:57 “God, it’s already been an hour” dramatic irony at its finest
Just completed Prime 1 yesterday, which I never thought I could do. Flesh Prison was the hardest part, which I didn't think would be the case.
1:14:39 really sums up the whole experience of P-2 dont it
still working on my act 1 p ranks, let alone act 2. watching this... oh my god.
Bro. Beating this on violent had me begging God for a W. After almost an hour I got the bastard with a D rank. I literally P rank minos on violent as a warmup for the cyber grind. What the fuck is even this boss fight
Honestly I think it would be a good thing to require a P-1 P rank before letting people play this level
At least that's the most consistent way of dealing with them for me
And I don't regret a SECOND of it.
I love how almost every coin shot flies into the idoled flayers. Also, use the srs cannon & red pistol more.
Red pistol was not even in the game when this was recorded lmao, and SRS released with this patch I hadn't even had a chance to experiment with it much before I jumped into this level for the first time.
@@DumpsterManVODs ah, my mistake on the red pistol. I'm not very keen on when various things were released.
I don't have the guts to do this on Violent, man! Great job!
:)
No parries on Sisyphus phase 2 is an actual nightmare, and hard damage is a slow and insidious killer throughout the entire level.
people are insane they already have speedruns p-rank of less than 4 minutes
Perfect stream to listen to while cooking food
My pc has been running for like 4 days because I’m stuck on the boss and don’t wanna go through the level again
The idoled stalker is one of the reasons of why Hakita doesn't deserve Heaven
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I first noticed it didn't die when it exploded
Keep them comin'!
I was honestly shocked at how many restarts you got throughout the whole stream, thought it was around 400 and them boom almost a thousand💀
It really didn't feel like almost 1000, it makes me wonder actually how many manual restarts from checkpoint I did, my guess was like 100 but it easily could've been more.
*Keep them coming!*
"And I don't regret a second of it."
The Prime Sanctums are the only levels I'm totally okay with not getting a P-rank on. I'd go insane if I tried
It was an enjoyable experience as people were swatted like flies for trying to tell someone how to play the game even though he specifically asked not to.
A lot of people got unbanned in the end, but I do think the threat of being banned made chat a lot better. I will never understand why that's some people's default, is just to assume people need/want help, but all I can do is run my own stream how I prefer it I guess.
friendly reminder this is only the second prime sanctum, there is still one more to come.
The ULTRAKILL level “P-2” is actually a reference to Sisyphus’ eternal struggle, specifically those FUCKING MINDFLAYERS
One must imagine Dumpster Man happy.
Bruh when this update had just came out, i got my ass handed to me by sisyphis, amd the one time i finally managed to beat him, he killed me in the last moment. I ragequitted after that, but i eventually went back and finally beat him. Dear god hes a fucking nightmare.
Now imagine if in a few months when the Violence Layer comes out 7-1 is as hard as thr arena fights in P-2
People got thinking this way about the Act 2 bosses and it led to a lot of people being disappointed in their difficulty. Act 3 will be a step up from act 2, no doubt, but I highly doubt it'll be anywhere comparable to P-2.
@@DumpsterManVODs I know it won't, but the thought of it has totally crossed Hakita's mind
Personally I think I'll rather wait for Act 3 to be completely finished and then come back to it. It's a bit underwhelming to think how so many people waited for greed when it can be Pranked in 4 hours
p-2 is finally here let's goooooo.
1 hour in:
"Ok, you know, how about we don't ban them (backseaters), just time them out for the rest of the stream, for a couple of hours"
Little did he know...
You joke but some of them actually came back, and at that point I knew I had been at it way too long LOL
You truly deserve something for it.
i did it for 1 hour and 40 minutes and didn't stop ONLY BECAUSE of the double mindflayer part like bro im not doing that again
I saw the thumbnail and I understand your pain P-2 sisyphus actually cause my left arm to be in pain and have sore muscles
Props to you, Dumpster Man, for your incredible perseverance :)
This man has somehow managed to be even worse at dealing with blessed mindflayers than me
He fucking made it lads!!!!
What a legend
KEEP
THEM
COMING
So nice of Hakita and co. to give Wave 50 cybergrind a new arena! 7 times over!
They will put like a whole week worth of hours into a level and people will reduce it to be compared to a random generated survival mode.
@@lonearachnid6591 Good god lighten up, I love the level and of course theres a ton of effort put into it.
@@MadamLava094 sorry but most people used that kinda statement to be sarcastic and mock the level.
I can't differentiate between the people trying to make it seem like the level was a huge letdown and useless and people just messing around, mb
6 hours? dam, he beat it fast
honestly man, this level is amazing, but the four major criticisms I have of this level are:
-for the flesh panopticon to have such a hyped up fight, it's just a fake out to subvert expectations for sisyphus prime.
Or something like that? no idea honestly
-Sisyphus prime in the lore is supposed to be a maniacal crazy tyrant who would lie, cheat, and steal without remorse for his comrades. But when you fight him his lines feel like they're said a little...flat. Don't get me wrong, the voice actor chosen for him is AMAZING, but I personally think the lines could have been said a little more flamboyantly
-Sisyphus also just feels like a harder version of Minos Prime. He's got the dash, the uppercuts, the slam down shockwave, he has one projectile, and staying in the air against Sisyphus is a death sentence. Some people could see as a good thing, but I guess I was just hoping for it to be more unique. Definitely cool fight though
Overall, great boss, great level, disappointing on the flesh panopticon (i want justice), and my PTSD forces me to never want to see an idoled stalker again.
@@jakanapape8322 wait hold on what's an " encore level"?
1, panopticon would’ve made the level drawn out much longer since you had to deal with the shit in all the rooms prior, the level is already long enough with the panopticon fake out, 2 no it does not need anymore difficulty decreases because it is a PRIME SANCTUM and it it supposed to be extremely difficult, hence why you need to p rank act 2 to even get in, 3 no, they really aren’t “flat” it’s just his character, he was much more cold and likely lacked the same emotion Minos prime had. 4 I ageee with
@@aquablue1780 1. maybe so, so i suppose the better thing to do would just to make it so that sisyphus breaks out after it reaches half health on its first bar
2. he did a slight difficulty decrease by removing a cerberus from the idol stalker room and decreasing the health of non-boss ferrymen. There is such a thing as too high of a difficulty spike
3. Hakita also raised the volume of Sisyphus' voicelines so i suppose he realized it was a bit flat and solved the problem the best he could, since probably re-doing all the voice lines for sisyphus would've costed ALOT of money. Or he just thought the volume was too low
4. On replays of P-2, I actually really like Sisyphus prime with his minos-like combat, even if it's kinda close to minos. Still fun though.
I beat him in 20 minutes for my first playthrough on violent and 31 restarts, the cyber grind wave 107 at the start was the hardest part
Dw, it took me over 850 deaths to beat that magnificent bastard. You're not alone in your suffering.
1:45 cerberus jumpscare
Seeing you not even managing to leave the first room makes me feel better since I couldn't even leave that little room and died 9 times there, 8 of them were due to the fricking ferryman
I think we have the same skill level, you were suffering just as much as I was
4:25:52 “NOT two hours later and f you for saying that”
(Almost) 2 hours later:
6:09:40 that was an epic moment
damn dumpster man was DETERMINED to beat Sisyphus prime he literally spent eight hours and died 968 times and still beat him
GIGACHAD DUMPSTER MAN!
This P-2 level makes me genuinely scared for P-3. When is it too much?
I don't know either, but if there's anywhere to test the limits of 'too much' it's definitely prime sanctums. Both dreading and looking forward to what Hakita cooks up next.
For anyone wondering like I was, you don't need to P rank P-1 to unlock P-2, you just need to beat the level to unlock it.
You have to p-rank P-1 to unlock P-2
