firestarter is great in high wave cybergrind because there's so many enemies, whereas sawblade sort of(not really) falls off when there are more enemies because it doesn't have true piercing(each sawblade can hit a maximum of 3 times, so damage doesn't increase with enemy count)

The only thing I'll say about this is that at least sawblades have some branching synergies, you can throw an overheat saw into a sawtrap for more damage, or add a jumpstart for basically free extra AOE damage that procs almost instantly. I'm not really sure firestarter has an appealing equivalent of this for me. I'd say it's maybe better than blue saws outright, sure, but I see blue saws as more of an enabler, whereas firestarter sorta just exists.

@@DumpsterManVODs Not sure that I agree. Overheat saw isn't really a synergy because it synergizes with magnets and not saws. Yeah ig if you're doing a sawcon you might as well throw the overheat in because the magnet placement will be optimal but I don't think you can really call that synergy. Jumpstart does of course have true synergy with saws though, but as far as I know that's the only one. Of course it's all down to personal preference, and you can equip both at the same time so it's not even a case of equipping one or the other. Here's what I'll say about the two compared: blue sawblade is actually much better at single target damage because it deals damage much faster and has no piercing. Firestarter is better at aoe because its damage scales with number of enemies. Also if you misplace a sawcon it's much harder to correct for it than with firestarter, where you just spray more oil (this last bit I think is why I prefer firestarter)

also dang it really sucks how many people you seem to have who keep asking why you arent doing brutal, the ultrakill community really seems to suck sometimes

Honestly I don't really mind I guess, I kinda figured people would ask, nobody has really had a problem with it when I answer at least.

I think the firestarter is underwhelming as well, but it does get its time in the sun in a run like this being really the only way to do traps or passive damage. There's truly no "bad" weapon in Ultrakill and I can't stress that enough but the firestarter just lacks something for me that's tough to fully explain.

@@DumpsterManVODs spritz it everywhere like a sprinkler. then you don't have to wait for them to walk into it and you hit everything in the room. I know you don't play it but it ends up deleting cybergrind waves by just laying it on everywhere. ultimately the beauty of ultrakills arsenal is that it has something that appeals to anyone. so its fine if even a few don't appeal to some, cause someone else will make it their own thing.

Yeah, I haven't done a whole run fist only (and don't know if I would) but I've at least done a few levels, and while it is definitely hard, it's more tedious than difficult. People might think parrying/avoiding damage is the hard part, but NOPE, dealing damage with such a limited toolset is the truly tough part.
