You can not pass out for anyone other than BAND-MAID. You don't want to make "The Gorilla" and The Barefoot Assassin (The Grudge) jealous. It will make the Japanese Metal scene unsafe. I will admit though, FAMI is phenomenal. MISA, however, is MISA MISA MISA. This is a great song, and Lovebites is absolutely amazing, fantastic, exciting, and deserving of all the praise.❤👍🎶🙏

Fami fitting right in-powerstancing and going toe-to-toe with Midori (got the chops to do so). I'm going to their Tokyo show in Sept. with a couple of Japanese friends including a guy who saw both Band-Maid's and Lovebites's 1st ever live show (1st under the "Lovebites" name). He went to the LB show wanting to see the band Disqualia, also on the bill, and realized his priorities were wrong. (Btw, you love B-M, and the 10th anniversary of their 1st ever gig is July 24.)
The question now is: Is Lovebites the best metal band right now? Is it the most complete one, that is, the one where all the members are high-level musicians, the structure of the compositions, the riffs, the solos, the vocals, the arrangements, live performance, etc? This is rare. I think so, it's the best metal band in the world right now. It is the most complete. They urgently need to leave Japan and definitely start an international career. If they do that, Lovebites will be much bigger than 90% of metal bands and will become a world reference.🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
While there are many contenders to the throne of "best" right now, Lovebites certainly is high on my list of favorites at the moment. But I wouldn't argue with anyone who said they were the best.

Hard to define. Their proposal, apparently, is to be a Power Metal near to Metallca and Megadeath, different from other Power Metal bands like Halloween or Angra. In the Japanese scene we have many other bands that are Metal, but with sounds mixed between Trash, Power, Death, Metal Core, Nu Metal. And that have very similar technical quality and composition. Now, in terms of individual technical quality, in my opinion, Asami and Haruna are among the best in their specialties.
Best is a difficult concept. Best at what? Personally I think that all top tier artists are best. Is Tamu better than Haruna? I mean. Is the question even meaningful. They are totally next level both of them. There are faster and more complex drummers than both of them. Are they batter? What would happen if you put any of them to drum for Lovebites? Probably not an improvement. Probably the opposite. Then Haruna is best for Lovebites. What would happen if you take a band that you think is better than Lovebites and asked them to cover Lovebites songs? Would it be better? Probably not. Not even if the band covering is the super cover band Nemophila. Anyhow, right now I am listening to two metal bands and those are Lovebites and Nemophila. Which one do I think is best? Depends on the phase of the moon actually. Tomorrow might be Nemophila day. Today is Lovebites day. OK - sorry I forgot Hanabie. But ... as fun as they are ... they have many years before they can touch Lovebites and Nemophila. But I love them to. So, one Hanabie day in the week is good.
I stopped ranking the Bands that I like, It's just who I like. As to the difference in the Japanese bands vs the western Bands I've known for years. It's the depth of the musicianship especially with the bassists and drummers. With too many western bands the bass and drums just "thumped" along with the lead guitar and sometimes the keyboards carrying the load.

With you I discovered the whole Japanese scene. And many many others. Now I'm a huge fan of it. I am learning the language and am very interested in the country. Another fun reaction. When 5 musicians are this good, what do you do? Watch the video 5 times so you can concentrate on each one. Start of Midori's solo reminds me so much of Rainbow Stargazer as played by Ritchie Blackmore. Fami brings a life to the band that wasn't there before. Going to be fun watching her. Who's my favorite? Midori. Why? If I say it is Miyako then Midori will beat me up. Dang! She's ripped. Can't wait for my Blu Ray to get here.
I watched the premier of this. Fami kicking ass on the bass. She is fitting right in. You are about the 20th reactor I've watched doing this one. it's popular I love your head banging man. You are hilarious. LOVEBITES, COME TO THE UNITED STATES!!!
Fami - the nuclear power cell of smiles, joy and energy! Notice Fami slaps those two bass solo sections and the bass/drum section after the solos is a joy... Asami's look of support and delight, followed by a thumbs up to Fami. Not only did Lovebites make the perfect choice, Fami BELONGS in Lovebites. The energy is radiating from all members. Haruna's playing and drums sound amazing and of course M&M kill on guitar as you'd expect... but notice Miyako seems invigorated!!! She's moving around, head-banging even, more so than I ever remember seeing. "We're back!" Hell yes, you are! GO! Oh, and Asami sounds better than EVER!
Actually - I am a bit weak for fingering the bass. It gets more depth to the tone. I am not all for that metallic slapping sound. Don't get me wrong. This sounds fantastic, also the metallic slapping sound. I am not complaining. BTW1 - if you listen you can hear the deep fingering bass tones in this performance also. BTW2 - MISA can get deep bass tones while slapping. It is a matter of technique and settings.
