Lovebites is my favorite band. Every song they have is a tribute to old 80s Heavy Metal and I love it. You can hear all of their influences and its great. One of my favs off their latest release Electric Pentagram. You have to check out Thunder Vengeance, it's pretty much their version of Slayer's Angel of Death. Miho even said they were watching Slayer when coming up with the idea for the song so it makes sense lol. Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) and Haruna (Lovebites) are my 2 favorite drummers ever.
These ladies are the real deal. Exceptionally talented musicians, songwriters, lyricists and the singer is amazing. I got into them about 6-7 months ago and have been listening non-stop since. And the live shows are pure energy. Can't say enough good things about them.
I was first introduced to Band Maid after checking out a reaction review of Baby Metal. I really enjoyed what Band Maid had to offer and watched a reaction video of their song "Dice" where someone in the comment section recommended they review Lovebites "Shadowmaker". So I casually look up Shadowmaker and watch the video. Talk about mind blown! No offense to Band Maid (as I enjoy what they put out in the Rock category) but Lovebites is on a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL!! I have been completely addicted to this band for the last 6 weeks (imported both Concert DVD's from Japan and have downloaded every song they have to offer). They have literally dropped into my Top 5 bands of all time. These ladies are beyond talented and dare I say the greatest female Metal band (and easily my favorite Metal band) of all time.
Lovebites is my all time favorite band for an obvious reason. The collection of talent here is unmatched. And I've been listening to metal for over 50 years (63 now) when I first heard The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin in 1971.
Love your reaction. They are so great they are killing us with their talent. Bruce Dickinson, eat your heart out. Asami can hold a note! There is fire in the fingers of both Midori and Miyako. And unlike most fire, they can control it with precision. Haruno can flat out play that bass. Haruna has a lot of power, speed and precision. One thing I am glad they caught was Midori placing the pick between her teeth so she could do the 2 hand tapping. Asami- vocalist, Miho- bass player, Haruna- drummer, Miyako- black hair guitarist and Midori- the other guitarist. They are so talented and the musicianship what they've got is unmegerable. Miyako is the one that started the solo (I keep forgetting the name of the other guitarist) the bassist is Miho, Haruna drummer, and Asami vocals. They sound even better live. Check out" Scream for me" live and "Above the Black Sea" live too.

Just think you haven't heard Miyako play the piano in concert yet! She is also the prime songwriter. You are right about most so-called metal bands, hairy old men who scream more than they sing and so-so musical talent. But they are loud. There is a great Lovebites interview on Duke TV. I know it's personal taste, but for me, Lovebites absolutely wipes the floor with every single one of the more popular bands from Japan, and is the best and most exciting new metal band in at least 20 years, period. They play the music I've loved since the 80s, but refined and polished and blended to have the best of all the genres I love in one stunning package.
There's one song from that concert ye have to, have to, have to do and it's the last song from the concert, "We the United" and be warned Mr Rock n Roll, your brain holes might not survive the guitar solo lol. And, have to say it cause i know you love her, Haruna smashing it on the drums and grinning away lol.

Yes they are daughters of Ironmaiden and Judaspriest Miho basist and boss of the band wears often T-shirts with Ironmaiden, good comparison, the Crusade song by Lovebites is a tribute for masters.

This was the first time hearing Lovebites. Very nice. The music was comparable to Babymetal but the singing, not so much. I'll check out more of them but they don't hold a candle to Babymetal. (Especially Moa!!).
Are you kidding? Also no reason to really compare the two. Babymetal are an idol metal group, Lovebites are a proper metal band. Nothing against Babymetal, comparing the two just doesn't make much sense.
Please do Swan Song Live Version at the same venue as this has something in it which will blow your mind towards the end. I was absolutely blown away by it as their skill levels just keep going up and up.
