These girls really have the skills to compare with the best regardless of gender. Me growing up in the era of "guitar heroes" (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, etc), I think their super power are how well their playing are synced. Their harmonies, solos back and forth are just amazing.
They are the best harmonizing duo I have ever heard or experienced going back to the '60s. They are both insanely talented but talent doesn't guarantee you can sync perfectly especially LIVE. These women are relentless in the pursuit of perfection and to reach that they practice together and it shows. As individuals they can hold their own against any other guitarist out there regardless of gender but together being so polar opposites they blend together like a Vulcan mind meld playing "one" guitar with two tones it is truly their most awesome skill. There stamina for their size is also something that is amazing as they look effortless playing and never sweat or strain despite the speed or complicated notes they are playing and that is even more evident when they are playing LIVE. Lest we forget both took up the guitar "late" (Midori at 20 and Miyako at 18) then again with gifted skill like this it would never be too late!!! OMG the smiles on these 2, I wish I could love doing something as much as these women!!
Interesting to see how the influences for both girls made their play, you can see in 3:30 how Miya plays with more a 80's rock and metal approach and Midori goes for more a mdoern economy of motion approach. This mix that creates the flavour for the Lovebites guitar is fantastic. Also I remember seeing in a livestream that Midori mentioned she started playing guitar at age 20 influenced by the Babymetal guitar duo, well considering Babymetal was not a big thing before 2014, and Lovebites debut in 2017, that's just 3 years of playing to reach that level! Impressive!
Not really, Midori already reach that level even before join Lovebites, check out Midori's former band "Gekijo Metalicche" (2013-2016) her riffs is pretty sick. Don't forget that Midori is a graduate of Musician Institute in Osaka...

This was a real treat. Has anybody noticed just how beautiful Miyako's eyes are? Smokey and focused on some distant point only she can see. They are the eyes of a dreamer.

Best pair of guitarists ever!! These two have captured my attention more than anyone else before them. Lovebites is phenomenal and lucky to have them both in the same band.
I was surprised when they said, that they struggled to get all the twin guitar harmony parts right, because if you watch some live videos, they play them absolutely perfect and even make it look effortless. That takes lots of practise and you have to be "in tune" with each other. I can only imagine how hard they must have practised these parts. Also, that black Horizon with the Duncans that Midori plays is awesome, Andy LaRoque from King Diamond plays one of these live too. It´s a shame that ESP has discontinued this specific model.

3:36 This one of my favorite solos from Miyako. For some reason it just hits me. What's crazy is she started playing at 18! A couple years later she's shredding and traveling the world! On Rock Fujiyama she told Marty Friedman her #1 influence was Kirk Hammett and Master of Puppets was the first metal song she learned. Master of Puppets!! I remembering being pumped after getting Iron Man down when I started. I know she's a classically trained pianist so she already understood music theory, but you still gotta get the left/right hand coordination as well as master different techniques. I mean I've playing for 30+ years, self taught, and I'm not even close to being clean and consistent with sweep picking like she is. Amazing talent! Also, people should check out and show some love to Yuki from D_Drive. She's awesome too!
I adore these ladies....Midori's smile and I prefer this look for her instead of the blonde pony-tail. Miyako.....what's not been said already? musical genius on guitar and keyboards...just wish she was more animated in live shows and smiled a lot more.

bonjour... peut-être qu'à 50 ans, les oreilles ne sont plus ce qu'elles étaient ? "Swan Song"... l'ensemble du morceau est bien ficelé, mais l'intro... piano un petit peu bâclée par Miyako. Sa main gauche n'était pas à la hauteur... hésitante, hâchée... Miyako était très nerveuse (c'est elle qui le dit). Pas habituée à ce piano, qui n'était pas un piano acoustique mais numérique. Mieux vaut regarder et écouter quelques passages vidéos tournés dans son propre studio et sur son piano Yamaha... Là oui !
