First release off their new Knocking at Heaven's Gate is a nod to their co-founder and former band leader. LOVEBITES is a class act to the core. 🤘🐺🤘
Sorry, and I know you've said this before, but I totally disagree with you thinking this was a nod to Miho.
Amen. Class in everything these women do. Fami brought her own shoes and won't even try and fill Miho's and with her talent she doesn't need to. Also the bass seems to get more shine time in the band now, perhaps maybe thinking Miho didn't get enough looking back? Anyway they are ready to rock, North and South America are waiting with baited breathe for these ladies to arrive. We know they will catch some of the European festivals in 2024 and only hope they stop off in the Americas. Honestly they are a Bucket-List item for any real music lover.

All three takeout videos from "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate" are breathtaking, meaning this one plus first ever live performances of "Nameless Warrior" and "Judgement Day" (on their channel to promote the 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray, which obviously worked, as they got #1 in DVD sales and #1 in Blu-ray sales)...

What has really impressed me is Fami's performance. Not only because she is an amazing bass player but from what I understand, this was her first live performance and she looks like a seasoned pro on that stage especially for someone who is only 20 years old. I am sure she was nervous as hell and if she was, she didn't show it. Some people are just born to perform. I think people will be taking more notice of Lovebites as they, hopefully, embark on a world tour.

The really creepy thing is, that I do hardly get their earworms out of my head again. But that is the price for excellence, I guess. 😂 🐺
Great reaction to this fantastic band. Never ever a weak moment since they entered the circuit in 2016. Brilliant songs, awesome live presence, stellar musicianship and charismatic individuals: these ladies have added a lot to the metal genre.
Great reaction as usual! But I don´t agree in one point, in my opinion the Drumkit of Haruna is in pain the most, after the show.

The new live vids are fantastic. Its like the ladies have even more power and hunger. I cant take my eyws off Asami. I always enjoy her live vocals more than studio but her onstage presence is absolute 🔥🔥. Definitely took it up a notch. And those bass parts gave Miho her chance to shine too. Fami is most definitely a fantastic replacement. Loving Lovebites2.0
I think you are right about the mix and sound quality. The previous live productions have sounded like they were going for studio quality. Not bad at all, but it loses some of the 'live' audio feeling of being in a concert venue. To me, these latest videos have kept more of the feeling of what the live performances might sound like.

You nailed this reaction in so many ways. Most importantly was mentioning how the sound was engineered to present a more in concert live feeling, as opposed to the more polished studio sounding lives of the past.
This concert was back in March. And you must react to the live version of "Judgement Day" from this concert. Amazing all, but I will say one word.....Fami.

Fami is obviously slaphappy (double entendre intended) in this performance! :) This is still one of my overall favourite songs by Lovebites - Thrash Metal in perfection! If you are curious, you can compare this version to the one from Wacken 2018: ruclips.net/video/fjCFQi-CX2g/видео.html Already way back then, Asami's voice first went up and then down again during her final scream. Miho played the two short bass parts in which Fami uses slapping technique with her fingers and I don't recall her using slapping technique at all while she was in Lovebites. Interestingly, she uses slapping technique in a part of the song "The Legacy Within" by Chaos Control (which was released 10 days ago), some kind of project in which she participates as a guest musician. In the shoe department, it looks like Midori already wore the shoes she's wearing now way back then, whereas Miyako went for a less "painful" version back then (as she also did during their "Ride for Vengeance"-tour in 2021, when she was pregnant).

The bass comes through really strong, but mixes well with the rest of the instruments on the Bluray, as well as on the Judgement Day CD! MIHO was awesome and I noticed her bass is mixed well on past releases, but FAMI is a heavier hitter with all the fingering and slapping she does.

One thing I really like with this arrangement is the solo section. It actually starts with Haruna. At 2:54 she makes a surprise move. She lifts both drum sticks like she is going to hit something. But instead she lifts them slowly and waits 5 seconds and then she starts to hit the crash cymbals HARD in backbeat! That is a signal for that Midori shall start her solo, which she does with that slow Egyptian thingie. Haruna still hitting the cymbals. Midori then goes over to a faster solo and at the same time Haruna starts to hit at the snare drum with double the speed. Then it is Miyakos turn to solo. Then it is Famis turn to shine with a kind of bass solo, quite long. Haruna still hitting fast on the snare drum, Miyako making the audience to clap and Asami is singing. Asami is also smiling and thumbs up at Fami. After that it is a kind of turnaround and everything goes back to normal. This is so good and so cute. I can look at it many times.

As I understand it, this was Fami's first live show with Lovebites - hence Asami announcing "WE. ARE. BAAAAACK!!!". I also understand that Fami's parents were in the audience as well. What an amazing experience for someone who (I believe) was only 21 years old at the time. Thank you guys again for another exceedingly insightful reaction!

The first song i hear of them.......from another live but.......i hear it 3-4 times to understand what happend and what i hear.....i thought if they have other songs like that would be nice.....ant they have.....all of them......
Not sure when you recorded this, but the DVD has shipped, and I have already watched it once. I suggest you order it and just react to everything on it, in order, the whole thing is insane. In a good way, as you guys would say.

Great review - although I would have personally loved a Boom Boom emoji when Haruna was playing Midori in to her solo on the riser. I hope you noticed the dynamic tuning on her toms when Midori was heading to the riser. Thoroughly enjoyed both reactions as usual. Fami Fami Fami! this is right up there with my fav Lovebites songs mainly because it gives the Bassist time to shine, if you watch the FOAK live version of this song Miho is doing a great job dare I say clearer sounding than this version. I think because the techs pushed her up in the mix for her parts in this song, whereas Fami is nearly always higher in the mix so it was all just washed together.

I miss Miho so much with those kind of songs... Fami, despite her talent, is and will never be a true metal muscian, less a metalhaed. And when you're on stage, it shows a lot. And don't tell me "music is all that matters", of course it does, but in this case just stay at home and listen to it, you go to concerts to share with the band, not just to listen to them.
