This time, we're covering the KAP-40.
The last of the pistols, this futuristic handgun is unlocked at level 43 and is the only fully-automatic secondary on offer.
The KAP-40, or Kriss Automatic Pistol, is an American weapon, manufactured by Kriss USA.
It currently only exists as a prototype weapon, as the semi-automatic KRISS KARD - and it uses the same recoil-mitigating action as used in the Vector SMG.
The Vector and KARD are normally chambered in the powerful .45 ACP round, although there have been some models produced in other calibres - and, given the KAP-40's designation, it's likely that the version depicted in game fires the .40 Smith & Wesson round.
The unique Super V system permits accurate automatic firing of powerful rounds in a relatively compact package, with minimal muzzle rise.
While the platform is relatively new, it does show some promise - and so perhaps by 2025 such designs might see widespread use.
In-game, damage is moderate: the KAP-40 will kill in 3 shots at a close range.
This damage quickly drops off to a 6 shot kill at the extent of the KAP-40's reach.
There is no headshot multiplier, so body shots are as valuable at any range - and as with all the pistols, penetration ability is low.
Rate of fire is an impressive 940 rounds per minute, faster than any other sidearm and comparable to most SMGs.
Paired with good hipfire performance, the KAP-40 is a very reliable and consistent weapon in close quarters combat.
Recoil is moderate but very controllable, with the vertical rise in your shots not a major factor within the KAP-40's effective range.
Aim time is marginally quicker than the other pistols, too - at 100 milliseconds, 25 milliseconds faster than most of its peers.
Other handling traits are good too, with rapid switch times and 100 percent mobility.
The KAP-40's major downfall is in its limited magazine capacity: while 15 rounds places it in the midst of its class, the elevated rate of fire means these shots are consumed very quickly.
If you're careless it's entirely possible to expend all 15 rounds before you're able to kill a single opponent: and while reloads are swift, at 1.5 seconds, you can be left very vulnerable during this downtime.
The KAP-40 is a powerful backup weapon, combining rapid handling with reliable lethality.
With tremendous output it's possible to quickly eliminate close-range assailants, making the KAP-40 a worthy companion to any slower-firing weapon.
In many respects it's as effective as a primary SMG, with a combination of a three-hit kill and an enviable fire rate.
The weapon does fall short in the capacity stakes, however - with a mere 15 rounds by default, it's all to easy to find yourself dry mid-firefight.
This isn't a weapon you can simply spray with - it requires a touch of precision to accurately direct your shots.
The short effective range will exacerbate this issue at anything outside of a close-range, too - landing 6 rounds out of 15 is a tricky task, and it is here where a typical SMG will outperform the KAP-40.
Still, the KAP-40 is in the secondary tier for a reason, and as long as you stick to close-range engagements only, it performs admirably.
So, should your opposition be all up in your grill: bust out this gat...

I’ve been rewatching a few of your weapon guides from bo2 and ghosts. Reminds me of the good old days. Coming home from school, plopping down on COD and playing away with my friends. It’s hard to imagine this was 7 years ago. It seems like yesterday life was carefree.

What I think would be an awesome, albeit strange wildcard would be one called Gunslinger. Its the opposite of overkill, allowing you to carry two secondary weapons at the same time
Andrew Harvey I had the same exact idea except the wild card is called "second is the best" and you can duel wield two different secondaries (example you can have a kap 40 in one hand and the tac 45 in the other)
it would be nice to have a launcher class with a pistol secondary
Maybe with a movement speed bonus as well?

This is easily the best secondary weapon to have on a map with lots of small rooms. Nothing more satisfying than running into a room and telling a sniper to eat shit with your little machine pistol.

Good for you, sir. But is there anything more annoying than when a sniper shoots you from point blank range? The tip of the sniper rifle's barrel is physically further away than you are from the enemy sniper, and yet they can shoot you. THIS is the main flaw with sniping in BO2. If someone quickscopes me from a reasonable distance, fine, I can deal with it. I can find them and get revenge... Quickscoping is usually annoying becase a) I can't do it, and b) an actual sniper could never do it. And if I'm 2 ft away from someone, and they draw their huge 4 ft long sniper rifle at me, they shouldn't be able to shoot me. Its just dumb.
I know right, quickscoping has completely wrecked B02. I've been trying to get my SMR gold, and I always do it on Free for All, and there is like 5 or 6 quick scopers that always hit me no matter how impossible it may be, and they always seem to survive my shots, even when I slam all 20 bullets into their head, they just shoot me and I'm dead.

My favorite thing to do is find a sniper who's being a little camper, and I yell "SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKA!" and blast them with my KAP-40, usually making them ragequit.

antbanks415 Personally I think that the B23R is better because it has low recoil. With the Kap, the only thing you can do is Pray and Spray at point blank range(I think that's what very close range means)

I've always been a diehard Zombies player, and just recently ranked up to Level 44. I usually prefer mid-long range assault engagements and just started using the KAP as my secondary for unexpected close quarters challenges and it is a BEAST. I use Suppressor attachment with Flak Jacket, Scavenger with Fast Hands, and Extreme Conditioning for perk selection. Ever since I've been using this setup, I've rarely lost any surprise close quarters attacks. Best pistol in CoD history.

You have a very interesting build. I typically assume a more aggressive role with the KAP-40, but I cannot wait to try out this one.

Contrary to popular belief, .40 S&W is not a compromise caliber between 9mm and .45 ACP. In fact, it's more effective than either caliber in stopping power and range. It can cause hydrostatic shock (to put it simply, it means you're probably not getting back up) with good hollowpoint rounds, so it's definitely not .40 "short and wimpy" as some like to call it.
Yeah, which is why I wonder why it isn't used much? Is it just too expensive?

The less recoil, the better.
As for the select fire on the SMR, I've actually found it to strengthen the gun, and with the recoil reduction from the ACOG & Grip, my aim is a little steadier during the full-auto mode.
Usually I don't use the exact same builds, but this one looks really good. Gonna try it.

i think a 3-weapon system should be something FPSes go after. Primary weapon would be the standard complement of rifles, SMGs, shotguns and machine guns. The secondary slot shall be where the launchers (including underslung grenade launchers), shields, swords, or special weapons. In Call of Duty's case, the Overkill perk can allow a primary weapon for this slot. Handguns should be a tier of its own, independent of the secondary options, alongside other backup weapons like knives.

I like using it with the ksg and heavy barrel, its a beast combination.
The shotguns had such a long switch time though, thats what helped it balance out. These switch on an instant even without fast hands

sean s It's not really necessary, considering how close-quarters this weapon is. Flinch shouldn't be a problem at the optimal distance this weapon should perform at.

Pistol only classes are very effective, the points you save on your primary can be spent of perks or more equipment to make a very good class.

This is the exact playstyle I used for Blops 2. Sneaking around with a pistol, hacking the enemie's gear. Man, what a time!

Long Barrel and Laser sight is what I use. Perks being Flak Jacket, scavenger, extreme conditioning and dexterity. Works for me.

With dual wield Kaps and my FAL OSW, I'm now an unstoppable beast at mid to short range engagements. Especially with hybrid optic on the fa I can snipe snipers from so far away

the KAP-40 actually fires the .45 ACP round, not .40 S&W. Although the designation would suggest that chambering, there is a label on the gun stating ".45 ACP"

I have a feeling that between Ghosts' PS3 and Xbox 360 release and the release for the XBox One and PS4, Black Ops 2 will keep a steady population. Maybe by this time next year, the population will slowly dicipate.

This is really the most basic way to explain it. Once you find an area with enough space to run in circles, you could do that forever until the zombies stop coming.
My added tip would be to keep a gun from the wall, once you reach the higher levels, power isn't important, just as long as you still have ammo to shoot and points to spend.

The only thing I'd like to see at the moment is an increase to the frequency of videos posted, I know it takes a lot of work but look at it this way, Stu will have time to play other games besides COD before the next one comes out.
When I gilded mine I went with Extended Mags, and swapped between the Reflex for headshots and the Tactical Knife for bloodthirsties. With the possible exception of the Tac-45 I swear by the tac knife for bloodthirsties. Kills with the tac knife count as kills with the accompanying pistol for the purpose of challenges.
