The formations and transitions are just AMAZING, and make the dance what it is. But the rest is a bit too average, incluiding the independent moves. There are way too many filler moves as well, specially in the verses.

Its becuz other groups' dances are more catchy, and they don't want to dance to RV's Detailed, Difficult and Tiring Choreos, like y'all are sleeping for these talented dancers they are not just vocals and visuals, THEY ARE ALL ROUNDERS!!!
That’s because compared to other groups their dances are more simple or cute, they mostly focus on their vocals

When Red Velvet debuted, I felt like they were missing a member, and now when you watch performances of happiness with Yeri it just looks cleaner and complete, especially when Wendy is singing the bridge as she looks far better centered and the arm swap movement is more even

So sorry I couldn't include Psycho. Judge the dance by the performance video and by te no-Wendy version isn't fair to the dance. Also, didn't include Seulgi and Irene. I do wanna talk about them in the future tho.

I love how you look at more stuff in choreographies. I’ve seen so many videos like these and all I get are “This one’s the worst because it’s boring.” or “This one’s the best because it’s not awkward.” etc. I like how you look at execution, transitions, etc.

@@lua2058 He choreographed "Power Up", "Peek - a - boo", "Be Natural", "Ice Cream Cake", "Red Flavor", and "Russian Roullete".
(If there are others I didn't mention, I'm sorry)
Also, creating choreos for kpop is a group effort. Choreos can be altered or changed for the group depending on what they need or are looking for. Sometimes ideas from many different choreographers are mixed to create the final product.
Having that in mind, I don't know how much these choreos were changed or if Kyle did choreograph the whole dance (not changed at all/original). If anyone knows please share the info!!!
Automatic is SUPER UNDERRATED. I’m really sad because that song make me stan Red Velvet so bad. It’s elegant and quite beautiful.

Hi! I was wondering if you could maybe add a small description or sumn of what is meant by effects, air work, independent moves and the other terminologies. As a non dancer, I find myself lost from time to time when I see you using these terms in your explanation...

the choreographies with red velvet like 4 were very good but when yeri arrived it was a plus to be perfect choreographies

Isn’t it kind of odd that the only actual floor work (like extended floor work, not just some kneeling or posing on the floor or simple level changes, etc.) was during the Automatic/ICC era, which were released practically together? They do it well, so I wonder why they almost completely ditched it afterwards.
They probably changed to a new choreographer?
I noticed this too. I think more floor work is what I'm missing from their choreos. It needs more spice

Wdym be natural is eAsY ? Swinging ur legs on chairs while balancing on the other is not easy but I guess when they are not on chairs it’s pretty simple

Unpopular opinion: be natural is one of their best choreos ;-;
umm whys is be natural second to the last like the choreography has a lot of awkward positions and not to mention the core strength you need to properly perform the choreography
seulrene's "MONSTER"s choreo was I-C-O-N-I-C
For me bad boy's choreo as whole works because that stepped all of them so much especially seulgi .she became my bias after bad boy
Now that I look at them closely, some of their choreographies are rather very simple, but Red Velvet definetly makes them look sharp and clean.
I know One of These of Nights isn’t really dance heavy, but I expected some ranking since the dance parts Irene Seulgi and Yeri did are pretty unique and cool.
I thought for a sec that RBB would be 1 😂 But it just wasn't included 😅

If you look at the pinned comment, you’ll see that she (the RUclipsr) genuinely forgot about RBB but still gave it a score (#11). In the video (and in another comment), she stated that she didn’t include Psycho because there has been only performances with 4 members instead of 5 and she felt that if she used the performance video, it wouldn’t be fair to the dance (which I get, the performance video focused a bit more on the members than the actual dance).

CheeseDoggy No. I think she made another comment stating that the reason why she didn’t do Psycho was that there hasn’t been a clear OT5 version of the choreo and she didn’t want to use the performance video because of the camera work. Hopefully we get an OT5 ver. soon!
I love automatic and I wish they had more live stages of it (the song, the dance, and the styling were perfection). As a side note, would love to see you rank Dreamcatcher's choreos (some of the best gg cheoreo alongside Loona in my opinion)
People always praise their vocals (that are actually amazing) but they are also awesome dancers

I really cannot be bothered to care about people who say Red Velvet need harder choreos. SM girl groups have always focused more on their vocals. JYP girl groups focus more on concept and YG girl groups...
This heavy focus on choreography is a 3rd gen thing probably starting around Gfriend debut??
I guess they focus more on their raps. Yg raps are always iconic compared to other big three girl groups in my opinion
I think jyp focuses more on dance and stage presence. For example twice, ITZY, stray kids.
probably because sm has great female dancers but their skills aren’t shown off properly and people want to see them express their skills

I loved it! But I have a request, would you mind doing a video explaining some dance concepts? Like ripple, drawing, effects, independent moves, and others. It would be really helpful!
My favorite choreo is Dumb Dumb! I find it so creative and unique and the last minute is one of the best part.
My least favorite is probably Russian Roulette, the first time i saw it i was so (and still am) disappointed by the (too) simple choreography (especially the chorus) BUT after the bridge it gets better and saves the whole thing for me.

Don't get me wrong i really love Red Velvet as they're my number 1 girl group, love their choreos as always too but if there is one thing that i can criticize about their choreos is that their execution. If you watch their individual fancam and compare it to one another i think some people will notice it too.

Russian Roulette is my favorite too, it’s really fun to watch. My favorite song is still Psycho but I listen to Russian Roulette and Red Flavor the most.
Power up deserved better from the international fans. It was one of Red Velvet's most energy-filled and clean eras as a whole and the live stages were so good. Maybe not their best era but for sure way higher up than most people would say it is

I think Red Velvet is overlooked in choreos bc people dont know much about how they operate.
Red Velvet is all about perfomance, balance vocals and dance. And their concerts show this Musical kinda of style, the girls change the most repetitive choreos like red concepts ones, and change music genres like Ice Cream Tango version!!!
And the Seulrene duo shows how they can DO hardcore dark choreos and tutting/vogue
The opportunies are endless for ot5 comebacks now that Wendy is back, but I prefer a slow down song bc she aint stable yet
Plus, some members HATE the repetitive choreos of older songs and prefer peekaboo or sunny side up kinda

Effects: I'm gonna put an example because it is hard to explain, 11:36 is an effect, they made a drawing with the formation and the movements.
Air work: When the moves take place in the air (?), like when they move their arms high of their heads
Floor work: When the moves take place in the floor, example: the girls in 9:08 are doing the moves in the floor (except for Irene)
