they're practically just same people who did their other songs, all of blackpink's choreos are mainly choreographed by the same people (ex. kyle hanagami, kiel, etc.)

At this point I'm not even asking for their choreographer to give them a difficult choreo. I'm just asking him to give them choreos that aren't weird and lazy, choreo that actually fits the song and gives justice to their dancing skill.
I think it's a bit difficult on the choreographer part because the dancing levels across BlackPink members are not even at all. I feel like Jisoo would have a very hard time dealing with a more difficult choreography. Jennie is a good idol dancer but she is still not very comfortable with moves that require lots of details and that can affect the whole look of the dance. It's really easy to point out whose dancing is not up to par when there're only 4 members on stage.

@@shiningyoonie Jisoo has improved a lot, like A LOT. The stiffness is still there but not as noticeable as before. Also Jisoo is the member that rarely skip the detail (along with Lisa). Rosé and Jennie tend to forget/skip the detail. They can do a better choreography for sure

Her lack of body control still shows so much especially with the Pretty Savage choreo. I guess there was too much hype around it, a lot of people wanted a difficult choreography or a dance break for Lisa so a lot of fans were dissapointed. But now that the hype is over, most can agree than even if it's not the hardest dance it is an iconic one.

Yeah I agree, its one of their non repetitive choreographies. The dance practice was kind of messy and I really idk why they gave Lisa a filler part where in the live stages the girls actually did a choreo

The chorus choreo for Pretty Savage caught me off guard. I just can't seem to take the head banging swing and the arm paddle swing moves seriously. And the first move in the chorus of HYLT the arms out and dip thing i feel kinda bad cause it makes me laugh lmao. I wish a choreographer could give Lisa a challenging dance break to shine in I feel like she hasn't been given the opportunity to well and truly pop off in a blackpink title song dance
I was thinking the same think but then I saw a fancam of the entire stage (well, you can see the girls, idk if you understand) and I thought it was better than the stage they released. It just looks less weird jahsja

The song is fun, sassy, and bold and I guess I just wanted the choreo to have an impact that matches the intensity of the song and I don't feel this choreo did. I get they need to sing live but I think the girls could have handled a harder hitting choreo

Pretty Savage, well, I think that song has a clear concept and sound and it delivers it perfectly.
What bothers me about blackpink choreography is that YG never really focuses on dance, so Lisa can't really shine with difficult choreography. Sure, even if you’re not a dancer, you can see a big difference between her and the other girls, but I really wanted to see Lalisa on stage dancing something more technically difficult

Rose is the kind of dancer who gives 110% of her power on the stage. Her dance is powerful but she has some issues.... and this is normal, because she is not the main dancer but she has some dynamics and put so much flavor in her movements, but no, she is not as good as Lisa but she is the best one after Lalisa
i find jisoo cute in the choreo because she's really trying her best but yes, i'm underwhelmed by the entire choreo too. i actually just watch the live perf to see the members' stage presence now because there's nothing to expect from the choreo
I liked all the choreo except the chorus. I agree with forggstans opinions about the formations,ripples and transitions and basically it is better than some of their choreos like dddd,ktl and pwf but that one part in the chorus where they look like they were swimming looks weird to me already. I used to like it lol
I think what made the choreo even more underwhelming for me is the fact that I saw better choreography videos of pretty savage. I think those videos were much more creative than the original choreo. The original looked so awkward
I died when you put that Playing with Fire dance break looks like they're cooking because it actually does. The first time I saw the choreo I thought they're like practicing a ritual.
I understand why their choreographer is giving the girls easy choreography. Ever since Blackpink has become a true global revolution, their company probably thought that if their choreography is easier, then more people would be able to follow along.

am I the only person who likes the pretty savage choreo... imo it's "swaggy", fits the song's vibe pretty well, and oh god the "cool yg" vibes are overflowing. I personally don't think that the song "needs" a super hard-hitting choreo, especially for Blackpink's performances. Also, them doing unique and arguably "weird" moves seem like a "pretty savage" move to me since it's kinda like them doing what they want regardless of what haters think
Rou Jing nobody's hating on it. There's just better choreos than it. Plus it's filled with recycled moves and the chorus is so weird. Not in a likeable way. It's not compulsory for all of their choreos to have a reason as to why they are the way they are. It's just not that great.
I like PS choreography too. There's better obviously but It looks really nice and different to me. I love Jisoo's little leg movements in the chorus too.

I think you should of have waited to rank this, because the lovesick girls dance practice was rushed and they barely knew the choreography, but If you see the performances the dance is way cleaner, so it might of have gone two spots, idk.

I have always loved Whistle's chereo the best! I just want the girls to get choreo that does not look lazy. I love your videos so much! They are so detailed and objective. As a side note, would love to see you rank Dreamcatcher's choreos (some of the best gg cheoreo alongside Loona. Would also love to see you rank Nature as dancers (I think Haru is a really underrated main dancer).

Honestly...In my opinion, Blackpink needs a new choreographer, the lovesick girl's choreo and so as the pretty savage was really messy but I did likr the last part choreo of Pretty Savage tho.
Can I just say that I was kinda disappointed for both LSG and Pretty Savage. I was so excited when I saw the small pieces of choreo in the mv but watching the whole thing just felt,,,, messy. I think they tried to really step up the choreo again after the choreos of dddd and klt which I appreciated. But I think they really missed some parts of the choreo. When I heard Pretty Savage I was obsessed with the song and I could immediately see an incredibly hard-hitting choreo in my mind. I know BlackPink isn't the most dance focussed group but we KNOW these girls can hit some moves. Sadly watching the performance I just really didn't feel the energy and even felt like some of the moves looked kind of awkward. I'm not saying this is the girl's fault because I know they work their asses off. Idk I hope that next cb we are getting a little more spice from them when it comes to choreography!
the thing about a lot of blackpink choreo is that they have a lot of it where one person is centre and the others stand around so you just get a load of the same arm swish or basic moves
As YG stan. I really think yg doesn't stress too much about choreo. Especially with it's former biggest groups BB and 2ne1. They didn't need a choreo lmao. But nothing's permanent fans are changing and more kids could do quality singing plus dancing and I think that's where YG has been left behind.

As a beginner dancer, I think their earlier choreos like whistle (or ones a bit more later like forever young) are the ones I love the most, Their more recent ones arent bad but also I dont think love them. So I can agree with most of ur points and I love ur content its really helping me getting better at freestyling and dancing :D
I feel like the more they try to make the choreography unique and difficult, they miss the chances of making it more of a masterpiece. They're choreographs before didn't have much moves but were difficult to execute, eg. Boombayah, but now I feel like they're trying too hard to make as many moves as possible in one verse lol
i wanna say someting to the playing with fire dancebreak because i think it has a meaning :O like i think the "touching their shoulders" move is a tap on the shoulder like "i will be fine", the "baking" u said looks for me like they are going to set the love on fire (with the hands warning sign before like they scream "watch out") but that's just in my mind :)

i ask this for like every video, but what do you mean when you say "drawings" : O a video that runs down the terms you use would be really helpful for those that are interested but less fluent in dance terms!
Think of drawings in a choreo as perfect times for someone to take a picture. Like you see them all in a certain position and pose and if you took a picture in that moment, it would be aesthetically pleasing and balanced. When these moments happen in a dance the dancers will often pause in this position or move slowly in/out of it to draw attention to the moment. This is not an official dance term but I have heard it before sometimes as I am a dancer.
^ also a related term would be when dancers create a “tableau” but I think this would require the dancers to be completely still like statues frozen in time.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I actually like the dance break of PWF. It sure looks a bit weird at first but at least it's interesting and not boring to watch. The moves that ForGGstans praise actually don't look all that good to me. It's so interesting how people's opinions of a same thing can be so different, like polar opposite.

Kieran M dkwtd has it's difficult moves, but overall I don't find it difficult. As for hylt, it would be hard to execute, especially the choreo which often makes people covering and sometimes the members themselves look awkward. For kpop standards, their choreos are easier
a hard/difficult choreography isn't only based of difficult or rapid moves. they're a group, the synchronization, stamina, formation and vocal stability are essential. y'all seem to be forgetting that one of the members is ill, therefore that's one of the reasons why blackpink's choreos have become 'easy', they have to adapt the choreography not to push the member to her edge. songs like "forever young", "see you later", "4D" and "how you like that" contain moves that, if you don't execute them *perfectly* they will look extremely awkward. boombayah is one of the difficult choreographies to perform as a solo or as a group. the moves are not difficult to execute singularly, however the choreo takes a lot of stamina due to all the jumping, formation changing, lying down and getting up from the floor and energy required. not to mention how high the song actually is to perform.
nini I do agree with the whole idea of what a difficult choreography is. Not sure whether staying, certain moves need to be perfectly executed to not look awkward- there’s no such as thing as ‘perfect’ in my opinion. I personally don’t think their choreo is impactful as before. Formations are getting similar and they don’t do much floor moves or jumping, unlike earlier. So yes, I think their choreo has gotten easier. I do understand jennie’s struggle too. As I said in my own comment, I just want impactful choreo that suits the music.
I've always loved the forever young choreo. When I first saw it back in 2018, I was so obsessed. I used to watch it at least 5 times a day. It's also my favorite song by bp.

I honestly think the flipping hair makes it bagasse and I absolutely love such as BOOMBAYAH so I don't see any problem. It's probably because of how they deliver the move but the more they perform the more they get comfortable and slay the performance

i love blackpink but to put Don't Know What to Do's choreo and What is Love's choreo on the same level feels wrong to me. I learned both choreos myself and What is Love is just so much fun to do and has awesome formations. I know blackpink has fewer members so they are limited in the formations they can do but I just do not agree with the score I guess.

The chorus choreo for Pretty Savage caught me off guard. I just can't seem to take the head banging swing and the arm paddle swing moves seriously. And the first move in the chorus of HYLT the arms out and dip thing i feel kinda bad cause it makes me laugh lmao. I wish a choreographer could give Lisa a challenging dance break to shine in I feel like she hasn't been given the opportunity to well and truly pop off in a blackpink title song dance

The song is fun, sassy, and bold and I guess I just wanted the choreo to have an impact that matches the intensity of the song and I don't feel this choreo did. I get they need to sing live but I think the girls could have handled a harder hitting choreo

What bothers me about blackpink choreography is that YG never really focuses on dance, so Lisa can't really shine with difficult choreography. Sure, even if you’re not a dancer, you can see a big difference between her and the other girls, but I really wanted to see Lalisa on stage dancing something more technically difficult

Rose is the kind of dancer who gives 110% of her power on the stage. Her dance is powerful but she has some issues.... and this is normal, because she is not the main dancer but she has some dynamics and put so much flavor in her movements, but no, she is not as good as Lisa but she is the best one after Lalisa

I have always loved Whistle's chereo the best! I just want the girls to get choreo that does not look lazy. I love your videos so much! They are so detailed and objective. As a side note, would love to see you rank Dreamcatcher's choreos (some of the best gg cheoreo alongside Loona. Can I just say that I was kinda disappointed for both LSG and Pretty Savage. I was so excited when I saw the small pieces of choreo in the mv but watching the whole thing just felt,,,, messy. I think they tried to really step up the choreo again after the choreos of dddd and klt which I appreciated. But I think they really missed some parts of the choreo. When I heard Pretty Savage I was obsessed with the song and I could immediately see an incredibly hard-hitting choreo in my mind. I know BlackPink isn't the most dance focussed group but we KNOW these girls can hit some moves. Sadly watching the performance I just really didn't feel the energy and even felt like some of the moves looked kind of awkward. I'm not saying this is the girl's fault because I know they work their asses off. Idk I hope that next cb we are getting a little more spice from them when it comes to choreography!
the thing about a lot of blackpink choreo is that they have a lot of it where one person is centre and the others stand around so you just get a load of the same arm swish or basic moves
As YG stan. I really think yg doesn't stress too much about choreo. Especially with it's former biggest groups BB and 2ne1. They didn't need a choreo lmao. But nothing's permanent fans are changing and more kids could do quality singing plus dancing and I think that's where YG has been left behind.

As a beginner dancer, I think their earlier choreos like whistle (or ones a bit more later like forever young) are the ones I love the most, Their more recent ones arent bad but also I dont think love them. So I can agree with most of ur points and I love ur content its really helping me getting better at freestyling and dancing :D
I feel like the more they try to make the choreography unique and difficult, they miss the chances of making it more of a masterpiece. They're choreographs before didn't have much moves but were difficult to execute, eg. Boombayah, but now I feel like they're trying too hard to make as many moves as possible in one verse lol

I wish you ranked Oh My Girl’s choreographies as well because they are so unique and also look simple yet they are quite difficult! I’d love to see a video with your opinion about their choreos because they have some of my favorite ggs dances!!
i ask this for like every video, but what do you mean when you say "drawings" : O a video that runs down the terms you use would be really helpful for those that are interested but less fluent in dance terms!
Think of drawings in a choreo as perfect times for someone to take a picture. Like you see them all in a certain position and pose and if you took a picture in that moment, it would be aesthetically pleasing and balanced. When these moments happen in a dance the dancers will often pause in this position or move slowly in/out of it to draw attention to the moment. This is not an official dance term but I have heard it before sometimes as I am a dancer.
^ also a related term would be when dancers create a “tableau” but I think this would require the dancers to be completely still like statues frozen in time.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I actually like the dance break of PWF. It sure looks a bit weird at first but at least it's interesting and not boring to watch. The moves that ForGGstans praise actually don't look all that good to me. It's so interesting how people's opinions of a same thing can be so different, like polar opposite.

Kieran M dkwtd has it's difficult moves, but overall I don't find it difficult. As for hylt, it would be hard to execute, especially the choreo which often makes people covering and sometimes the members themselves look awkward. For kpop standards, their choreos are easier
a hard/difficult choreography isn't only based of difficult or rapid moves. they're a group, the synchronization, stamina, formation and vocal stability are essential. y'all seem to be forgetting that one of the members is ill, therefore that's one of the reasons why blackpink's choreos have become 'easy', they have to adapt the choreography not to push the member to her edge. songs like "forever young", "see you later", "4D" and "how you like that" contain moves that, if you don't execute them *perfectly* they will look extremely awkward. boombayah is one of the difficult choreographies to perform as a solo or as a group. the moves are not difficult to execute singularly, however the choreo takes a lot of stamina due to all the jumping, formation changing, lying down and getting up from the floor and energy required. not to mention how high the song actually is to perform.
nini I do agree with the whole idea of what a difficult choreography is. Not sure whether staying, certain moves need to be perfectly executed to not look awkward- there’s no such as thing as ‘perfect’ in my opinion. I personally don’t think their choreo is impactful as before. Formations are getting similar and they don’t do much floor moves or jumping, unlike earlier. So yes, I think their choreo has gotten easier. I do understand jennie’s struggle too. As I said in my own comment, I just want impactful choreo that suits the music.

So ppl were actually telling the truth when they actually made constructive criticisms of BlackPink's 'D4' having a so-so choreography. Yet they still got hate. Smh
For me boombayah to as if it's your last era is the best choreo while d4 to kill this love have the simplest choreo.. I don't know I really like their new choreo like hylt,lovesick girls, pretty savage,lalisa and money (I don't include otg cuz I think the choreo is pretty easy and messed)

I’m pretty sure boombayah was one of the first music videos I’ve saw from blackpink and made me fall in love with them, I also loved whistle, it was just always stuck in my head
As a blink I expected pretty savage choreography to be more “savage” if u know what I mean. The choreography was whack honestly I love blackpink tho and the song pretty savage

I mean, I respect your decision and I think it's just the thing on chorus where Jisoo gets on the front and shake their butt off on the stage is the problem. I honestly think the flipping hair makes it bagasse and I absolutely love such as BOOMBAYAH so I don't see any problem. It's probably because of how they deliver the move but the more they perform the more they get comfortable and slay the performance
But when jisoo rap part they did little stomp and I couldn't stop lae
I think Jisoo wasn't so good at some parts of the choreo, and well that's fine, but the fact that she was in the front during those parts kinda ruined it (not hating Jisoo tho she just needs some pratice)

i love blackpink but to put Don't Know What to Do's choreo and What is Love's choreo on the same level feels wrong to me. I learned both choreos myself and What is Love is just so much fun to do and has awesome formations. I know blackpink has fewer members so they are limited in the formations they can do but I just do not agree with the score I guess.
