I just wanna add that Lisa can make a hard choreography look easy, which is something i admire. Like i wanna try what she dances but then when im on it i quit after a few secs. haha

they can all scream that Lisa is an overrated dancer but at the end of the day it's her getting all the praise from real dancers, professional choreographers and even from non kpop stans so i think that says a lot. Stop being jealousy and stan Lisa and Blackpink
I mean sometimes I do think blinks can overhype her sometimes but I still think she's a extremely talented dancer☺️
i think she's overrated in the sense that people call her the best dancer in kpop. in that sense, i feel like there are some people who are better than her, however i think her actual skill deserves to be praised like it is :))
I think what people mean is that of course she gets a lot of praise when she is that famous. Other idols aren't as well known so don't even have the opportunity to be praised by non kpop stans or even kpop stans that just don't know them. And Lisa didn't become famous for her dance, she became famous because she's in BlackPink and that just got her dance more recognized. Don't get me wrong I do think she is a top tier dancer it's just when people say she gets a lot of praise therefore she is the best/ one of the best isn't correct.
@Toxic Toffee I wasn't saying by any means that people should hate on Lisa. Hating on an idol is never right, I'm just saying that Lisa is from big 3 and she's in the 2cnd most famous kpop group. A lot of people say she's overated not because she's a bad dancer or doesn't have skill, just that a lot of others are nearly at her level/ on her level or even above but they can't get the recognition so this makes stans of those members jealous of Lisa's fame. A lot of dancers would get just as much recognition if they were in Lisa's spot but the fans know they can't reach that level of fame BlackPink managed. Again, by no means am I justifying any hate, I'm just explaining what people might be experiencing.

The weird thing about Jennie is her consistency. Like sometimes she'll be really bad at something but then pop off on the exact same move later. And personally I agree with Lisa being placed higher then chaeyeon. It might be just because I prefer more controlled moves

Matilde Dias There’s like 0.1 difference. I’m a real fan of both Lisa and Chaeyeon (since Produce 48; cried for her as well), but I think they have very different styles. The only main difference I can find is that Lisa has so much control and Chaeyeon sometimes (rarely) overdance. And Lisa started dancing like when she was 4.
chaeyeon is better tbh. i love both but chaeyeon was born to dance and you can see it in the way she moves. she has her own super unique style and she's always sharp but still manages to make things flow.
They both were born to dance tbh, so I don't think you can see it as reason. But I also think Chaeyeon is a little little better when it comes to technique, and she rarely overdances. Lisa's disadvantages is that she is a little taller than her members which makes her dance moves look a little "weird". Nah not that kind of weird, but you can definitely see her disadvantage when she dances with the members, less when she dances alone. They both have 10/10 fluidity and musicality.

They’re not the most underrated dancers but, they’re one of the underrated dancers in 3rd gen.
It seems like YG's trainers prefer styling over technique. It's not always a bad thing especially for a performer but when you start learning dance (like Jisoo) with style, you have to compromise in technique. Just like their singing and rapping, YG members rather than focus on a balanced technique tend to focus more on cutting angles, somewhat out of rhythm power control to look "edgy". While it may look cool on a camera during a perfomance, it gives it all away during a technical evaluation such as this. When it comes to Lisa, Minzy and other such natural dancers who came to YG with basics already done, you can visibly see a difference in balance of technique much more than other groups. While Lisa is definitely a really good main dancer in my opinion, I would give her 9.5-9.6 because she has amazing technique, it still tends to come apart sometimes especially when she is dancing blackpink choreos with the other members

really interesting opinion about priorizing styling... I never noticed it in YG, but it makes a lot of sense tbh. My really high score to Lisa because of her well-pointed out and clean technique. But I always like your comments hahah
I feel like lisa sorta holds back when she’s doing BP choreos to make it look a little more balanced out since she’s really good, not only is she a good dancer she’s also a good performer
I sooo agree! And in a way, I mind. But in a way, I don’t mind. (I reaaaally love stylized choreo, but I can see where it costs some technique.)
I do agree that if anything, Lisa sometimes shows that she hasn’t been trained in Technical ballet or similar classes. (I feel like I see an ankle that could have a better line here or there.)
But I don’t blame her for that. She’s such a great performer and makes sure that people watch her performance and face more than her ankles.

I think YG trains their idols with Krumping. Blackpink mentioned that their "dance lessons" are separate from their "krumping" idk. I'm not a dancer but I really like analysing things.

Can we just appreciate our Rosie? Like she never really danced before and after training for 4 years she was able to get the lead dancer role? Like come on guys.
One thing i’ve noticed about Rosé’s dancing is that the more they perform a song, the less she focuses on details and does moves sloppily. Even though its not too obvious and she still gives 110% each performance it leads to her being very inconsistent. She’s really good and i wish YG trained her more after debut to solidify her her skills more and not rely so much on natural talent
Edit: guys this is NOT hate at all and she is still an incredible dancer and dances and performs super well i’m not downplaying her talents or anything it was just an observation jeez. And i know that a lot of other groups do it as well i never said Rosé is the only idol that does this or that she works any less hard than other idols in the industry

Jisoos fancams are my favourite to watch since I’m not even on her level and she makes it look very easy. In my opinion through jisoos fancams you can learn the dance easier since she doesn’t do the movements that smooth but still slays
Also her stage presence makes it so that you get captivated by her even though she isn't the best dancer, she just pulls you in with her eyes alone I could watch her fancam everyday
nah she honestly looks likes she’s struggling when she dances and it’s evident on her face. i think the whole of bp have stamina issues probably due to lack of comebacks. she’s not a natural dancer (as stated in the video) so it’s understandable if she struggles. i don’t think she makes it look easy at all lmao that’s lisa and sometimes Rosé.
@@MM-ex5kz nobody said she's a natural dancer she's just not as a good as the others, but we can't deny that her stage presence and facial expressions are always great and better than the others sometimes, in fact she's the most stable voice in BP she eat CDs, you probably haven't watched their real rm removed videos, she makes it look easy because she's relaxed and chill and doesn't focus in her technique as Lisa and Rosé, which means it's less hard dance than the others dancing or she's just not flexible and she's stiff, but in more complex/fluid choreographies like forever young, don't know what to do, she does better maybe because she can develop more her dancing in those songs and are not as famous as the others cause "pressure" also exits, or maybe she improved a lot, she never disappoints cause she's a natural performer, her happiness/emotions really shine through the stage dancing it's just not her thing but she makes it look that because of that

Theres just this stigma around huge girl groups. Or maybe groups in general. They're expected to be perfect onstage and have perfect vocals, always be in sync etc. Like theyre also human? Them being idols don't diminish the fact that they're humans too, meaning that they make mistakes.

I personally think that Jennie is a better dancer than what she shows, there are times when she even does some movements better than Rosé or even Lisa. Still, she lacks consistency. I guess she just does not focus on dance that much.

Guys, Lisa, Rose are dance line but that doesnt mean that the other cant do a single move better than them, everyone has still something they can offer the best SOMETIMES in a group and even outdance the main dancer in that specific move, it doesnt mean they are better though, but yeah everyone can have their moments

Rosé in second place is awesome cause when she started as Trainee she said on they documentary in Netflix that she never had danced before. I think she is really great. I agree with this ranking, just I believe Rosé is as decent as Irene, but I'm not a Dancer myself, and there are flaws that dancers may see that I don't, and it also takes to personal preference I guess!

I've been a dancer for about 6 years and the way Rosè dances is in my personal opinion better then Irene, Rosè looks so calm and smooth while dancing and adds a lot of energy when she dances, she makes the dance look easy and she looks so elegant while dancing.

I’d agree with this list as a whole but to put Jennie in the OK tier is where you lost me, as a dancer of both hip hop and contemporary for over ten years Jennie is actually a really good dancer who excels in both contemporary and hip hop, and has shown us the most versatility alongside Lisa of how amazing they are at dancing, along with different techniques of the way they dance. I’ve often noticed blinks tend to underestimate Jennie as a dancer when she has shown us what she could do, just like Lisa has
Her main problem is she has no stamina. As a dancer myself I know how tiring it can be to do performance after performance, but she let's the audience see it. In ballet numbers where you are dancing for an hour with very little rest time you need to keep your technique and not get lazy just because you are tired. She let's her dancing go in order to focus on singing which is totally fine, but if she wanted to be a better dancer she should work on her stamina
@@user-id8wp3lb9i I agree that she, along with Rosé have stamina's that need to be worked on, Jennie's is just more obvious. She's a great, diversified dancer who catches on easily and blends in well with any genre. But her stamina is one of her weakest attributes that has unfortunately put her in some hot water in the past. I don't think that takes away her abilities nor does it diminish her talents as a dancer, same with rosé, but it is definitely something that holds her back from reaching her potential
Brianna agreed cuz I’ve always seen Jennie killed hip hop or groovy dance she’s really versatile and sometimes I think she’s better dancer than rose if she’s focusing on dancing but Jennie herself already said that when she was born she doesn’t really have energy no matter what she did

No, Irene is a lot better. Irene has better sense of body control and controls her fluidity better. Rosé has better facials but overall I'd say Irene.

Just my two cents here on Rosé’s dancing... Your analysis on her technique finally made sense to why I thought her dance was slightly lacking. She is good with fluid movements but isn’t good with isolations. If you ignore her whole body and just focus on her feet, her footing isn’t stable and tends to overstep a lot. You can see a lot of this in KLT solo.

I hope no one is going to come for neck but this is a genuine concern I have for her due to what my uncle (who is chiropractor) said. I, myself, have an asymmetrical body and didn’t realize it until I noticed some slightly off face and body proportions. My left eyebrow is higher, my left leg is slightly longer, and my spine isn’t completely straight. This affects the way I walk, stand, sit, and sleep without realizing it. I could stand straight but I’d slightly be leaning to the right because of my higher left leg. Because of my not-very-straight spine structure I don’t sit perfectly straight either. I suspect Rose might have the same problem.
If you don’t believe me, go and watch any of Rosé’s solos and just focus on her legs/feet. Also watch BLACKPINK - 2019 world tour with kia x stinger and focus on her legs. The bone structure in her legs are not straight and this has nothing to do with her being skinny (which I know is her natural body type). Notice her in interviews or when she does photo shoots. She tends to lean her body to the side a lot. Also notice their recent Twitter Blueroom Q&A. She tends to fidget, move around her seat a lot, and it’s because she has a hard time getting comfortable.
I think this is why it affects her dancing and why fluid movements are easier for her than say hip hop movements. Idk what others might say but I’ve had this concern for her years already. My uncle has the same suspicions about her asymmetrical legs and possible irregular spine. It’s a good thing she does Pilates... she needs to do a lot of strength exercises so she can rely on her muscles more. I hope she can find a good chiropractor to help her balance her body and improve her back and core strength.

i've been dancing for six years. have been to hundreds of dance classes. yeah, i do agree with what you've said. all the technicalities that you've pointed out. what the members lack of and what they should improve of. when i saw the scores you gave to jisoo and jennie, i was like "hmmmkay... you could've gave them something much higher." but what doesn't sit right with me was the tier. i mean wendy is a good dancer. she's improved a lot since debut. but there's no way she's a better dancer than jennie. i could go all day and state the reasons why but i'm afraid i would just write a long ass paragraph

From just watching the new HYLT choregraphy video from blackpink and seeing Wendy perform Psycho or any of the Reve Festival songs, I personally think Wendy is better technically.
Jennie still has bad lower body control and during Lisa's solo part in the middle, she could not do the circular upper torso wave that Jisoo could surprisingly do (Rose couldn't either so they both just did something different)

I think Rose has the most unique dance style in blackpink. She’s SO smooth. But there’s something that always bothered me about her. She seems to have some kind of tension in her shoulders and elbows. I can’t explain. It seems like she doesn’t have much control of them and it makes her arm movements...small I would say. A little awkward. Another thing
is that she keeps touching her hair during the dance. I know it’s her thing, but it bothers me a little bit, because sometimes breaks the group synchronization and her dynamics. But she still a good dancer and deserve the position of lead dancer in blackpink.
I’ve noticed that too. She lacks a lot of arm control. The last part of HYLT’s chorus where the girls swing their arms back and forth, she looks really messy.

it's not that i'm being biased but i just disagree with this. as you said, one of the flaws when it comes to chaeyeon's dancing is her body control, which can be fixed properly with practice. but with this video, you said that lisa's problem was her freestyle. for me, chaeyeon should be rated equal or even higher than lisa since her flaw can be fixed while lisa's problem just comes with pure talent. we can all see how good chaeyeon is with her freestyle dancing and even if y'all don't want to admit it, it really is pure talent. but as you said in this video, lisa's freestyle dancing should improve, which means she wasn't really good in it in the first place, but with chaeyeon, it's just really different. not to mention that chaeyeon's just a rookie. in conclusion, i PERSONALLY think chaeyeon should be rated equal or even higher than lisa. just my opinion.

they are from different generations, so they showed differently their habilities. And like I said, I don't usually count free styling, even tho Chaeyeon is better than Lisa in it. The reason Lisa isn't a 10 isn't because of free style, but because of small technical mistakes she does sometimes. The reason Chaeyeon isn't a 10 is because she lacks body control in power moves, tending to overdance.
Chaeyeon's flaw is in her technique, while Lisa is in her technical appliance... love both tbh and yea, maybe after we see more of Chaeyeon she can get a even higher score
freestyle isn’t about technique or “how good of a dancer you are”, i would say it’s more of a creative thing. you can be the best singer but not be able to write music, that doesn’t change your vocal skills.

Lelew Miaow personally, as a dancer, i see freestyle as one of the less important things in a dancer’s capability. i would say, for instance, that choreographing is more important. freestyle can be bad due to so many things such as lack of creativity, inability to think in the moment or when put on the spot or just simply not taking it seriously (for idols on shows). there are other things that define a dancer (especially an idol dancer) more.

I agree that Lisa isn't as overrated as people make her seem. Sure, she has privilege because she's in Blackpink/YG, but just because she's in the big 3, that was never what made her a good dancer. I think that her and Chaeyeon are both almost equals, and that she deserves the 9.8/10. I think that Lisa is an amazing dancer. I hope that with practice the other 3 can learn to try and even out the group and all be 6/10 dancers

no way Lisa and chaeyeon are equal. Lisa have way better techniques than chaeyeon. chaeyeon lacks isolations, her pops and locks are pretty bad and hardly visible, she can't to power projections well and have a very weak overall body control. the only reason why people consider her "feather" is because she lacks and skips details which somewhat makes the choreography look light. in Lisa's case she have amazing dynamics and great sense of musicality. she is literally the queen of pops and locks, she have stunning body lines, good footwork and wayyy too good overall body control. the reason why Lisa never over/under dances is because of her body control. but still Lisa have some weaknesses. she has stiff torso at times, her arm lines are little unclear, she carries unnecessary tension in her wrists. so in Lisa's case her techniques will be perfect even if she just loosens up a bit but in chaeyeon's case, well she needs a lot of traning.
Props to Lisa. She has extremely long limbs and manage to dance perfectly which is hard to see 💗

I read that if you broader shoulders or you are tall it makes harder for them to control their body movements. Rm and Jin are Goode examples of this!
your body type definitely plays a huge role in how your dancing looks. for example, butt dances usually look better on "fuller" bodies (for example, in More & More i think Jihyo looks reaaaally good in the chorus), but it may be just personal preference. i guess that your limbs play a bigger role, since sometimes it makes you look awkward while dancing (i have really long and thin limbs, that's why i'm so aware of that)
@@seokiology it's more about the length of your limbs than the height itself. because having long limbs makes you automatically more conscious about your surroundings when dancing, and that may lead to not execute extended movements correctly, underdancing and some other issues

@@Notmidge excuse you? are you a dancer? if not, then you have no right to say that. i take you've never danced in your life. it's not being _rude_ , it's being honest. as someone who's been dancing since i was 6, i completely agree with that rating. i do think jisoo's dancing is a 4.5, though. she's not natural and looks pretty stiff. her facial expressions are great, as well as her versatility, but that's about it. she loses control with some of the more complex moves as well. jennie is a lot more versatile when it comes to dance moves. she's completely in control when she dances and her moves are almost flawless. however, she's kind of slow in some parts of the choreography, so i think her dancing is a 7.5. rosé is natural and her dancing is really smooth. her facial expressions are on point and she's quick with sudden movements. however, she looks like she tires easily since at the start of the choreo she's bursting with energy, but that energy dies down throughtout the song. i think her dancing is a solid 8. lisa's technique is literally perfect. i see no flaws whatsoever. she truly was born to dance. her dancing is a perfect 10 for me.

*IMO* Jennie should be placed a bit higher, at least in the good tier. She is frustratingly inconsistent but when she gives it her all, she could be easily passed off as a lead dancer. I also think Chaeyeon is a *bit* better than Lisa *from what I've seen* of both of them but I could easily be proven wrong if YG just gave Lisa more opportunities to show what she's got.
YG has gve more opportunity in singing that's why she doesn't need to get dance opportunity cuz she dances just bcoz she has to.

as for bp posted a vlog in 2020 lisa did a vlog of her going to learn a new dance by her teacher and while her teacher teachers her Lisa doesn’t miss a dance move and also for her teacher she does the part she tought Lisa to dance she was abt to show her the next step and Lisa already did it bc she saw how her teacher’s body was prepared for the next move and Lisa was able to copy it that quick and for her teacher she tought Lisa stop hard dance moves and Lisa already got it.. she can copy dances that quick and that’s mostly why she is also experienced in it.. yg doesn’t really let her show her full dancing skills mostly..
For rosé she did cheerleading back then and I can see why she really is good at dancing.. it think she is the most flexible in the group, how her body moves you can see how flexible she is and I really love it..

I'm a dancer. The types of dance I do is ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip-pop and tap.
And I find that Lisa can tend to over dance a lot it when she is doing movements and can be little messy when doing fast movement Dances. So considering technique, fluidity, body control etc. I'd rank blackpink
Jisoo: 4.5 she lacks a lit of important skills but has great improvement over the years.
Jennie: 6.9 She is really good but tends to underdance sometimes and lacks of energy when it's not her part. ( I'm not referring to the " lazy" scandal btw)

... I think the problem with chaelisa in general is that they're tall. That makes their movements to seem weird or even overdanced while they're not.
It's the first time ever (and I look at and read a lot of comments in dancing) and this is the first time that I see someone saying that Lisa overdances. It's even the contrary, I read a lot of people saying that one of the many things with Lisa is that she never over or underdances, that she is always in the right amont of energy so I am really surprised by that comment.

I agree with all the rankings. I prefer Jennie's dancing to Rosie's because Jennie has AMAZING stage presence and aura which is why her solo stages were so successful. Ik Rosie has much better technique and body control but she tends to overdance. You can see this especially in the Forever Young dance break and that hip move they do in the opening of D4. Jennie, on the other hand, gets tired easily and her energy is inconsistent which leads to poor technique sometimes. I love them all though. Jisoo is just stiff bcos she's not a dancer, her skills are built from scratch but she's so good in HYLT!!!

i might’ve had agreed with this statement back in 2016, when, in my opinion, jennie had the best stage presence in the group. the problem now is, that she half asses the choreos and only has good facial expressions when her part comes. on the other hand, rosé has improved a lot when it comes to facial expressions and her dancing has become more consistent.

First of all i have to say this is a great vid and im a dancer too and i agree with the ranking i think the only problem why people call lisa an overrated dancer is because the lack of versatility in the dances yg gives her, i think it has to do that yg is focused on peformance rather then techniques. I noticed that lots of lisa's dances have the same movements like lowkey twerking, arm movements and floor choreography i honestly dig this for her because i think it really fits her style and her body proportions but lots of people tend to hate it because she doesn't show things like momo for example who has proven to take on any style or seulgi who is great with hip hop and street dance! Anyways i love lisa as dancer and i hope to see more from her in the future as for now my fave dancers stay lili and momo because her technique and power really stands out to me

lisa’s pretty good at freestyling from what i’ve seen before. she was already originally a dancer before becoming a trainee so it’s pretty safe to say she has tons of experience and can perfect moves quickly. she also picks up choreo fast too which is like 😍 ughh she’s the perfect dancer

I agree with this all. Especially Lisa improving in freestyle. I understand why people say Jisoo is the most "useless" member. Because all the members have their own specialty, Jennie is for rap, Rosè for vocals and Lisa for dance. And jisoo, well shes just there.. but I dont think thats a valid reason to hate on her and call her useless

In my opinion
1. Lisa. I dont need to explain this, she is the MAIN dancer for a reason.
2. Jennie. I have seen how ppl saying that she can get better somedays and somedays she sucks, Jennie even her said says she has a low stamina and she cant jump as muchwhich is natrual thing, which actually makes her an above average dancer if you take her health conditions in account. Plus she tought Rosé our lead dancer how to dance.
3. Rosé is an above average dancer. Her dance moves are very detailed.
4. Jisoo. Jisoo is an average dancer but she gets very stiff usally and her moves arent clear but her smile makes her dance expensive cause she enjoys it
Lisa's movements are really controlled. Also, her facial expressions are really gooood.
Something very good about Jisoo is her stamina. If you compare the beginning of their concerts with the ending, all the other girls have somewhat lost a bit of their energy, but Jisoo is still giving the same amount of power.
I agree with this. If you watch their comeback performance on inkigayo Rose and Jennie both look kinda tired at the end. Rose's leg even moved.

I would give Jisoo 5.2 though. Jenny is a 7.5. Rose is an 8.2 and Lisa is 9.7.

Finally someone agree with me about lisa being a (slightly) better dancer than Chaeyeon. I'm no expert or a Blink but Chaeyeon always seems a bit rush for me.
Also Jennie 's dancing is overated? Cause many people including me think she can pass as a main dancer somewhere.
Lisa is NOT an average main dancer, BUT since she is so popular blinks tend to over exaggerate her talent. She is ONE of the best in kpop, not THE best. They are only a few idols I can name above her, but that does not make her “average” being in top 30 dancers in kpop is already amazing, and she is easily in top ten in kpop (I don’t rlly rank the top dancers because they are all good plus they have different strengths and weaknesses also some didn’t even show their full pontential yet)
Stop praising your fave while dégrade down lisa
Liliane Dedoh they’re not downgrading Lisa they’re telling the truth. It’s makes sense for more popular dancers to get more recognition because they’re more well known but think about all the amazing dancers in underrated groups that we don’t know of because they lack exposure. Lisa’s still a good dancer but it means that you can never truthfully rank who’s the best because it will always be biased.

Lisa has been dancing since childhood and Jisoo only started when training. So that explains their positions.
