I'm a once and reveluv but I have to give it to red velvet ;D there discography is just so unique! They tend to change there song style and Era style! red velvet’s discography has been diverse and top quality since the very start in the career and it’s only getting more better and versatile, whereas twice’s is getting better w time and definitely improving! both are great, though i choose red velvet’s music.

I'm a Revluv but I'm absolutely thrilled to hear how good Twice's "self composed/influenced" songs are, i hope we'll hear a LOT more of these! while JYPs songwriters seem to always push them into a certain kind of direction, the members burst with creative energy and innovation.

Both have amazing discographies, better than pretty much all groups, but Red Velvet b-sides sound more polished than Twice's however I think Twice's title tracks are more polished (Red Velvet sometimes very good (tracks now) but their first few I didn't really like (Happiness was a bop though))

RV still remains to have the most untouchable discography. Consistency is the hardest to beat and they have been doing that for 5 years. Twice releases in 2019 were probably their best yet though. Their discography is improving more. Anyways, stan both queens instead 👑

Some RV songs like Parade are almost overwhelming for some people (I can understand this) but all the experimental sounds and how unique it isis just why i love it and RV's music in general so much

red velvet’s discography is top tier and the production for each and every song is high quality. they have the diversity, innovation and the originality that makes them stand out from all their competitors. more importantly, they have songs that are fit for every mood so there’s no excuse why anyone shouldn’t give their discography a listen. twice’s discography is still nowhere near as diverse nor innovative as red velvet’s, and even though their most recent songs have improved in quality I’m still giving the crown to red velvet since they seem to be the most consistent in terms of overall quality, originality and versatility.
I totally agree! Tbh I have a hard time trying to completely dive into RV’s bsides but they have very interesting songs with so many different feelings to them! I fell in love with their R&B side, like... so hard...
Twice is not as versatile and original as them but we can hear the improvement with each albums. I just wish they could do less "themed" album to have more versatility in their track list for each comeback so we can see different side of them everytime!
as much as i love twice, i 100% know that rv have the better discography. that is not why I love twice. It's not that twice has a bad discography but rv really takes the cake

exactly!! tbh this goes to most sm groups (although red velvet forever remain as queens of the art)... their production quality is unmatched by any other company. even the 'lazy' bsides are often better than other groups' & are often critically acclaimed. that thing you've been wanting to hear? that feeling you want eclipsed in a song? look no further than rv. even if you don't stan them, i can GUARANTEE you will find a song you like. i could never get bored with them.

Sorry but Red Velvet are queens of discography, I'm proud to call myself a Reveluv 💓 RV are genius, each song of RV has "RV identity" in it aha. They don't do fanservice like a lot of groups do, they try everything ans everytime they succeed.

La Rouge was a bomb!!! La Rouge becomes my most favorite song by RV because of the music and vocal quality of the members are shown a lot. I was shocked because Yeri vocal is sooooooooooooo bright, intense and sexy in this song! Their voices literally fit any genres 👍
And i wish they would have a comeback with bossa nova genre. La Rouge could easily catch people's attention if it was a title track :")

I hope this comparison makes more people realize how good a lot of Twice songs are (especially from Feel Special & Fancy You, but I also love Yes or Yes EP). Red Velvet has one of the very best discography in kpop and we know that, and still Twice has several trump cards, I feel like their music is actually underrated without even getting a chance

i agree so much with this! as a whole, red velvets discography is almost unmatchable, but with twice's last two comebacks especially, the group have really stepped up their bside game and jyp ent are actually investing in the groups bside tracks now. i hope more & more's ep follows in the same way!

Twice underrated sis please? Maybe its just the assholes i grew up with but I have been hearing the kpop club at my school blasting every twice album and bside under the sun for the last 4 years along with every boy group as well. Maybe thats why i dont Stan boy groups. A bunch of annoying teens ruined it for me.
Also every time (normally people are, but here people are so nice and i love that) i see one of these videos its all twice stans (hundreds of them) saying their groups music is the best.

I just pointed out that, if we talk about quality and not popularity, a lot of people underestimate the quality of their songs and how good they are (of course you don't have to necessarily like them), as they could never enter the "serious game" with Red Velvet, Mamamoo, BTS etc, while ironically their discography kept getting better and the last works are really good and comparable.
well red velvet keeps on releasing quality bsides since their first mini album. and i am so happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve. it took them awhile to be recognized 😭 all the artists in Sm invest on quality bsides tho

i mean bad boy was their peak but after that they didn't release any song that was the same exact thing just to get views and clout. it was in honor of versitility and to think outside of the box. they released RBB which had noooo feel like BB at all.
RV can go so 60s style (Love is the way, Lucky Girl), 80s (Look), elevator music (LP), festival-ish music (ZZB and Bing bing), Summer bops like(RF, With You, Blue Lemonade) Foxtrot (Hear The Sea), Ballads (Moonlight Melody, OOTN, Little Little), Repetitive catchy songs like (Don't U Wait No More, Huff N Puff), Their weirdest wasn't zzb for me, it was RUSSIAN ROULETTE because their songs were so different from each other, comparing Lucky Girl to Fool. games-like genres (RR, Power Up), church piano slamming songs idk how to describe but (Talk To Me),
these songs are underrated but had to be recognized.. Taste, Sunny Side Up (this is a fave for reveluvs), You Better Know, Something Kinda Crazy, Oh shit Peek-a-boo too, Kingdom Come

red velvet matured and perfected their sound over different genres at a young age and twice hasn’t started branching out until quite recently still. there’s no comparison
Since RV is more diverse, a lot of their songs are a miss for me, while twice mostly fits perfectly with my taste. However, when I like a RV song, it will likely stay one of my favorites for a long time. Their songs have such longevity. ❤️

Sad thing is rv lacks energy as a group, specially irene and joy, what happened to them in their rookie years? I won't say irene didn't improved as on monster era but mainly everyone except for seulgi lack stage presence sadly (i won't talk abt wendy bc she is a main vocal, tbh she doesn't need to have a rly good stage presence)

Burn Butterfly I’ve been interested in musical genres and styles within kpop for a really long time now, I already knew the basics about music, but I’ve recently been more interested in it. I’ve been wanting to improve my analysis of songs on my channel so I’ve been enjoying getting into understanding musical genres a little more recently, and it’s made me appreciate the music songs in and outside of kpop more.

I respect your opinion but disagree with most of the things in this video, especially regarding the styling and overall eras. (and parts of the b-sides ranking). Idk why but i prefer both feel special and yes or yes over fancy. also i really just feel bored by umpah umpah.

1. Psycho (easily one of my favorite girl groups releases from last year)
2. Feel Special (Really nice song, blends the themes of happiness and melancholy in a really interesting way, which I really like)
3. Yes or yes (apart from the lyrics, it's just a really fun, catchy, good song)
4. Fancy (this song is really good, but I think I have played it on repeat too much, so my appreciation for it might be a bit lower than when I first started listening to it)
5. Umpah umpah (this is a basic kpop summer song, but I really enjoy it. The same as YoY, it's just a fun, upbeat summery song, and I very much appreciate that)
6. Zimzalabim (probably the only of these songs that I don't actually listen to on a regular basis. It's just a bit too mismatched and chaotic for me to enjoy it)
Love both groups, but RV discography has always been superior amongst 3rd gen female kpop groups. And with the release of Psycho, they upped their own game like gurl
