Younger people have no idea how ground breaking it was for black girls to be dancing and singing on Television. They pulled it off because their extreme talent could not be overlooked…
@@zakbauman9319the reason why Tina was groundbreaking was because she was the only woman who was “singing like a man” and without “poise”. And let’s not forget her iconic “unladylike” dance moves

The dynamic guy dancing with Tina at the end is Jimmy Thomas. He was one of Ike's lead vocalist before Tina. He was with Ike's Kings of Rhythm from 1958 to the late 1960s. He is on Ike & Tina's first few live albums.
One of the greatest rock and roll performances of all time. While we are all mesmerized by Tina, let’s not forget Ike - guitar maestro extraordinaire and a true original.
Préférons nous rappeler de la fougue et se sa présence scénique de performer de Tina plutôt que ses turpitudes ......la jeunesse , de Tina Turner ( RIP) nous a conquis grâce à un Soul-R N Blues excitant !
The goat, I wasn’t even alive yet then, but greatness is timeless. I time before auto tunes and processing ruined real music. You needed actual talent back in those days to get recognition.
She killed this performance!!!! I wish I was there!!!! I was going crazy at 7:55!!! She can dance, and still hold a note!!!! Legend!!!! The original Beyoncé !!! I can tell she had fun with this show, loved seeing her happy especially this early in her career.
I completely agree with your "the Original Beyonce" sentiment. I thought the same thing watching her energy, how she commands the stage, her seemingly effortless ability to sing and dance simultaneously, her star power, how the crowd is completely engaged and energized by her... etc..Your comment did not compare the two against one another, it merely pointed out that Tina Turner was, during her time and at the height of her career a musical sensation and phenomenal performer. She was to her era what Beyonce is to ours is what was being said when you said "The original Beyonce", I completely understand your comment, and I concur. Stevie Wonder can look at this and see that Beyonce definitely pulled a great deal of Inspiration from this woman.
Beyonce is talented by today's standards. So much is choreographed, lip synced, etc .The ground breakers knew how to improvise, ad lib, work the entire stage with a live band. Tina was extra special because she was going thru physical and mental abuse, and raising four sons.
Tina's influence you still see today. If you look at Beyonce's performance in The End Of Time and the UK Girlband Girls Aloud when they sing "Miss You Bow Wow". Even James Brown was blown away by her performance and Brian Wilson described her performances as Fire under her Feet.
Saw The Tina Turner musical recently and even though I loved the movie when I saw it at 13, I never became a fan like that. But watching and listening to this older stuff, this priceless footage, I am memorized by this woman! She is so captivating. 😍🤩😍🤩 Thank you for posting! Can't stop watching.
Ike, who is the most impressive musician of his generation, team him with greatest voices plus the dance routines created by the Ikettes... It's astonishingly good. 'Goodbye, so long' in this set gets me especially jazzed, the music with the rhythm section swaying and the dance moves excites me like nothing else. It also makes me a little sad that my generations music majorly lacks soul and I'll never get to see this live.
He was a good musician but that gets overlooked people know him as the eat the cake Anna Mae guy now he looked a lot like a black Waylon Jennings when Waylon was still rockabilly and not outlaw yet
I always like Tina she was the face on the first record cover I ever seen when I was a little girl I use to stare at her because she was so pretty and I loved her hair
I love that the ladies are wearing flat boots .. haha… so much more grounding and comfy looking . I hate seeing those bloody heels they often danced in in other performances . Tina was phenomenal , I think that Janis Joplin may have modelled herself on Tina’s style .
Why are you convinced she's in heaven? Heaven is associated with Christianity. Tina was Buddhist, so she is wherever they believe you go in the afterlife.
Why are you convinced she's in heaven. Heaven is associated with Christianity. Tima was Buddhist so she is wherever they believe you end up in the afterlife.
She was born to do this
"Shake", "A Fool In Love", "It's Gonna Work Out Fine", "Please, Please, Please", "Goodbye, So Long," "Tell the Truth"
Holy crap. The entire world should see this.
@Diamond Tribe Never too late, lol! No one can do this nowadays.
OMG. Totally. It was like fire and air meet each other. So dynamic. She flew off the stage at the end.

I agree. I’m not young anymore but I’m happy to see this. Thank god for RUclips to bring back great memories.

@Stacy Babst That's simply not true. Beyonce is one of the most classiest and respectful megastars of the last 30 years. And Tina Turner loves her.
