I'm constantly trying to encourage women to get out before it's too late. This warms my heart. Glad you made it🎉!!!!!

Tina’s voice on the other hand had very good dynamics to it. Not only could she give you gospel. She could give you soul, rock, and pop. Comparisons aside, Whitney is known as the voice solely because it was pleasing to almost all ears. Also because of the way Clive marketed her and the songs he chose. @@selsam7064 ok yes I agree. The reason it makes me angry is because there are many artists who were worse than him who get the respect and love for their work. A good example is phil spector (who worked with them). That guy gets everyone raving about his music to this day (which is cool because it was great) but he has been given a pass for literally murdering his girlfriend! Te guy was crazy and use to point his gun at people back in the days. But nobody cares. I dont like the double standards with Ike. He never killed anyone. Yea im sure he was an asshole on drugs but people in comments are obsessed with acting like hes still beating tina to this day lol. Also if you believe Keith Richards - he said she used to get the better of him sometimes too. Ike came out of the dressing room with a black eye. Tina wasnt some shrinking flower

      @selsam7064 Год назад +3

      @@Captain_Rhodes I understand that double standard you are referring to. It's unfair that Phil Spector wasn't treated the same way. But he did die in jail for what he did. I learned of Tina Turner when she debuted in the 80's as a solo entertainer and my mom told me of her history with her former husband. What's Love Got to Do With It really shaped my view of him. Had Tina Turner not become who she is along with the release of that movie, maybe Ike Turner wouldn't have had such a bad rep. I can only assume. All it takes is one negative to negate all the positive.

    • @Captain_Rhodes
      @Captain_Rhodes Год назад +2

      @@selsam7064 yea that movie is the problem. Even Tina said it wasnt accurate. Im not saying Ike didnt hit her but I think it may have been exaggerated or at least focused on by the film. If you look a bit deeper you will find his family members and other wives supportive of him. There are videos of him playing with his grand children so obviously he was trusted in that regard, at least to some extent. People who got into Tina in the 80's often act like he was talentless and was using her for success which is incredibly stupid. They were a real band and Ike and Tina were the main force in that band. They were a great band too and in my opinion far superior to Tinas solo work. Anyway its not just phil spector who is let off the hook. It is many others. Ike has become a villain of rock and roll like no other. By all accounts, Michael Jackson was a far worse human being than Ike Turner and victimized a lot more people in worse ways, but his music gets played as if nothing ever happened. Ike Turner was one of the progenitors of Rock n roll if not THE progenitor. The success of Rocket 88 caused the producer of that album, Sam Phillips, to have seed money to form Sun Records. Ike was rightly inducted into the hall of Fame in 1991. He was a successful recording artist for over 30 years, which is huge. And won a Grammy as late as 2007.
