I remember sitting on the living room floor in 1973 and watching this show(we watched all of the Midnight Specials). You don't forget seeing something like Tina jumping around the stage. Another icon from my youth, gone. Rest in peace.
Saw them back in the day - her energetic performance was positively electrifying. Happy she found a man who showered her with love for the rest of her life. RIP Anna May.❤
This is absolutely the best live performance of this song I’ve ever seen them do ❤❤ RIP, Tina, and I thank you for all of the amazing music you gave to us.
The Queen of Rock n Roll , God blessed Tina with a voice can not be duplicated. Even though Ike stuttered so badly over the mic Tina was the show!!!! Rip Tina Turner❤
I’m undead and roughly 3,197 years old and I only rise once every 3 millennium to visit RUclips and post comments that say real talent, real music, real musicians, and no autotune and things like that. All that said, this was very well done. The red moon sets and so I must return to my infernal grave. Thanks for doin' it Easy and Rough.
My dad had this on an old 45!!! I remember playing it over and over and dancing like a fool using his record player. My dad had as much soul (may he RIP) as this amazing lady Tina (may she RIP as well). Great music and great times and I miss them all.❤❤❤
@@themidnightspecialtvshow Do you have the other Ike and Tina appearances from February 01, 1974 - Episode: 21, Season 2; February 08, 1974 - Episode: 22, Season 2 Thanks for what you have uploaded so far :)
While her private life was a real ordeal, Tina managed to sublimate herself during her shows, more than a performance, it was a gift from god, thank you Tina for all the happiness you gave, you are a real forever queen!!
My deep thanks to producer Burt Sugarman for making the collection of these historical Midnight Special presentations available for free. This generation will be able to see real music without playback without any kind of correction. I'm from Generation X (1974) and a lot of these wonderful musicians helped shape my character! No one can touch her on that stage! Absolutely no one, not even Beyoncé. No one could try Tina Turner in her prime! Beyonce would have never performed with her had they been the same age ijs FACTZ. RIP, Little Ann ♥
Thanks for sharing! This actually aired on February 9, 1974. Ike & Tina Turner were the hosts for this episode. They appeared on The Midnight Special various times between 1973 and 1975.
@@parasite674 ~~ they first toured together in 1966 in the UK - then again in 1969 on the Stones U.S. tour ending with the Altamont show - and Jagger did actually credit her with teaching him how to dance - and his stage moves noticeably improved from her help ..
Ike Turner had a wonderful bass voice, what a pity he was abusive, his problems was drugs cause him to act the way he done to Tina. She was amazing woman ♀️ . An icon and the Queen 👑 of Rocking Roll. Legacy will live on. RIP. ❤️🙏🙏

Ike reminds me of Bob Marley, the way he plays with the song in the background,
Tina, ever the Queen of rock n’ roll 🙌

Tina inspired Mick Jagger to move around on stage!
A good live video to look up as an example is the song 'Bitch' and you'll see Jagger stole so many moves.

Tina is simply the best ❤😊
is there a dvd of every performance ike and tina on this show somewhere ?
Anyone else notice ike shuddering while singing? Lmao I never knew it was that bad.
Y'all hear Ike stuttering?! 😂😂😂
Tina is great, no doubt.
She basically taught Mick Jagger how to move on stage - how to be a frontman ..
What are you talking about? I doubt Mick Jagger knew who Tina Turner was early in his career. 🤨
@@parasite674 ~~ they first toured together in 1966 in the UK - then again in 1969 on the Stones U.S. tour ending with the Altamont show - and Jagger did actually credit her with teaching him how to dance - and his stage moves noticeably improved from her help ..
Was that Blue Lou Marini back there?
1974 ??
Ike must’ve been high as hell!! Since when was stuttering on national television ok?
Ike scatting in that intro 🔥
I thought he was stuttering!!!!
No doubt that Tina had the one of the best pair of legs in music.
Is that a bruise on her arm at 3:07?
No, that's her birthmark. It's called a port-wine stain.
Good thing she got rid of that nothing of a man Ike Turner. Tina and the Ikettes made the whole performance.
He proud the song without him there's none of these people including Tina. Let's not disrespect Ike Turner
Song written by John Fogerty.
She really did have amazing legs, didn't she?
😢. Bye Tina
Great stuff but we’re old 😅

Go home Linus. With your wet blanket
Thanks to cocaine for this one!!
I just hate hearing Ike.. I feel like he ruins it :))) this is after I read the book
John Fogerty wrote it, but Tina Turner owned that song!
