      Good afternoon Chris bro!
      Love your review!
(I think I’m worthy enough to have the Mjolnir popcorn 🍿 hammer!”😂🔥🤟
Anyways!! I really liked the way it still has some aspects of a serious and comedic tone it gives out.. I love how they introduce powerful entities:The Gods !
There’s so much to grasp and Thor is growing more as a superhero ,as a protector and as a new foster Father! It really made me feel like a kid when seeing the cool fight scenes-but I wish it was a bit longer and wished we explored a bit more depth Gorr the god butcher
Overall can’t wait for future projects for Thor and all the Og hero’s !

I thought the biggest problem was the run time. If you give it an extra 30 minutes, those emotional beats could really hit home and you can setup the crazy ending better. I like the idea of Thor have a daughter to live for. There’s some really fun story telling potential there.. overall it was really fun but would have become pretty top tier if they stretched those out.

Felt like I could’ve loved the dramatic moments more if they spent more time on fleshing out the parallels between Jane’s cancer deadline and Gorr’s dying vengeance. If they took these moments more seriously, this could’ve easily been one of the most emotionally resonant films in the MCU.

Your review is spot-on the exact thoughts I have about the movie after watching. Personally not a fan of how Gorr is just convinced by a speech but the ending making sense of 'Love and Thunder' made me glad. At least this movie does deliver on its title unlike a not-so-mad multiverse movie with barely any multiverse in it. My biggest gripe with this movie is that we don't see the God Butcher butcher anyone let alone any gods. Because of that, there's really no reason to fear him. He doesn't even draw blood from Thor or anything. A very brutal villain, wasted. Saved only by Christian Bale's amazing face acting.
It is kinda sad though that the conversation around most of the Phase 4 films is mostly about what they could've been. A lot of the movies have so far felt like wasted potential and missed opportunities.

  • @jacrispy2186

I feel that Gorr in the comics was a lot scarier. You got up close and personal with his kills and the god-murdering backstory was done better. I also think he’d be way scarier if he was taken seriously by the heroes.

What's weird is that in the comics Gorr comes across two gods fighting, which we later learn was the Enigma Force and a manifestation of Knull god of Symbiotes. You can't say for 100% certain that the god of Gorr's people was neglecting them due to having been in battle. But the film just goes ahead a picks what kind of god they "needed" to tell the story.

This was a great take. I couldn’t figure out how to articulate what I didn’t like about it but this summed it up well- why I love your page so much! My biggest knock was, as you said, the fact they didn’t show Gorr killing any gods. That would’ve made me appreciate how big of a deal he was. But on the flip side Bale’s performance is the main reason the movie was decent. He crushed it. Thanks for another great video

I went into this expecting it to be light-hearted throughout the film, but then they introduced Jane's cancer and Thor's journey of loneliness made me feel more invested than I thought I would be for any marvel movie. I loved how it gained shock value as well due to them killing Jane. I feel like we expected her to live for the "New Avengers" as an OG Thor replacement, but instead, this wasn't an introduction to mighty thor, it was more of a send-off. And I feel like the humor hit nearly perfect. This is just a personal review, and maybe a slight sense of bias due to the fact I'm a HUGE fan of Taika and Chris. And the bucket looks sick btw!

I really enjoy it as a movie to play in the background, or just to have as a dumb fun kind of movie. I loved everything involving Jane and most of the stuff with Gorr (except like the corruption stuff). The emotional scenes still hit for me but I just don’t get why the movie is layered with jokes. I got invested enough with Gorr and Jane but for the love of god they kind of butchered Thor (some puns in there). Really if they just made Thor more reasonable I would like the movie SO much more but I feel like the jokes just absolutely smothered Thor into a completely different character. And I feel a bit skeptical abt Thor taking care of Gorrs daughter bc it feels a little random but whatever. I guess we’ll have to see where that goes. Personally I’d give it a solid 6 or 7 but that could definitely change.

Personally I loved this felt really fun but it also had those fantastic darker moments. The acting is fantastic. Some VFX looked strange but most of it looked great. The soundtrack was also great too! Overall this was great and yes the humor was much too much but when it got serious it was really great!

I agree with your thoughts regarding the excessive use of comedy at the expense of telling a powerful story. I also noticed the apparent regression of Thor’s character in this film. I feel that after three previous installments and four Avengers films the character would have made some progress. I also noticed the idea of Thor forsaking the life of a warrior for one of peace, as was advertised in the trailers, barely lasted for five minutes before it was back to smashing things. That was actually a progression I was looking forward to watching. I also think that approach would have better served Thor’s relationship with Jane in this film. Their scenes together were actually my favorite ones of the film, and I also agree that there were many missed opportunities to tell a deeper story of reconnection, which would have provided more closure to me personally at the end of the film. I actually went into this hoping for a deeper, more serious story. The material for that was present, but it wasn’t fully executed. Instead we received a film that was, in my view, too short to properly develop the relationships, and one that sacrificed the deeper material that was included for comedic relief.

I just wish that we were able to get something more like Ragnarok, a perfect mix of comedy, action, and drama. I wish they did something with The Guardians. They could have came and helped at the end or they could have replaced the kids fighting the shadow creatures. Gorr was obviously the best part of it. The movie's biggest problem was that it was too goofy, it felt like it was more of a comedy movie. Another awesome thing they did with it and Ragnarok was that it is based around the main song, Love and Thunder being "Sweet Child of Mine" and Ragnarok being "Immigrant Song". I wish they did something with Surtur, and we all need a little more of Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster (who doesn't?). Also, in the end where was Valkyrie? I wish that they actually killed Korg because if they did then they would have a reason to push on, like Agent Coulson in Avengers. Also, Zeus should be dead, I feel like he should die, and then Hercules should come after Thor. Anyways, in all it was a meh. 4/10.
Also, the popcorn bucket looks really cool! Would love to have it!

Everything you said in your first review is exactly how I felt about the movie to a tee! I felt like there was a great movie hidden in here with Gorr's story, Jane's story, and Thor's character arc, but fleshing these out was sacrificed for the sake of cringy jokes most times. Overall an alright movie, but could've been really good.

I loved Thor love and thunder I found the jokes hilarious and funny(especially the Dwayne Johnson one) and I found it more emotional than I expected about Jane with chemo and why gorr kills. Though when gorr captured the group he kinda acted like the joker and expected more seriousness out of him. The best part is the choices of songs they picked. With one minor detail that I have is that I’m disappointed that gorr didn’t go to where all the gods were and go on a killing spree but that is just something I would’ve liked to see but overall I found the movie enjoyable and is going to one of my favorite marvel movies

This movie feels like Taika Waititi wrote a Thor movie, then another guy wrote a pardoy of Ragnorok, and the bumped into each other and all the pages got put together, making Thor a parody of Thor. I also think they underutilized Christian Bale and his talent. Overall, I enjoyed it, but I wish it had been a little more serious and had a longer runtime for more Gorr. I have liked and subscribed, keep up the good work!

My son and I waited to watch your review until now - as we just left the theatre today… We both enjoyed this newest installation of Thor Love and Thunder - we have it a B-. We liked Ragnarok a little bit better but this one kept our attention throughout. Wished the Guardians of the Galaxy were in it with some more scenes (Drax with some more dialogue and an expansion of that first water fighting scene) - kept waiting for them to return at the end. Can’t wait to see the next installment of Thor and the girl growing up - which can only be assumed will happen (Thor 5).
