- Natalie Portman is back in the MCU as Jane Foster in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ but she gets to play a superhero this time around, as Jane becomes Mighty Thor! In a new interview with ‘Extra’s’ Jenn Lahmers, Natalie dishes on how she got in superhero shape and the advice she got from co-stars Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth. She also reveals what her kids think about her Marvel role. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is in theaters July 8.

What I really love about Natalie Portman is that she’s really sweet, humble, gorgeous & grateful human being that she really is.
I don't know why, but this is one of the best interviews with Natalie I've ever seen. She actually seems to be excited for this project, which is not always the case.

Been watching Natalie for close to 20 years now, probably more. Ever since The Professional. We're similar age so I had a crush for such a long time. Anyways. she interviews really well... all of her interviews especially the David Letterman days were always an insight to her personality. She's very charming and has been since the start. Very lovely.

She has never looked better. Stunningly beautiful in the movie, and interviews pre and post release. Whatever she is doing is working and she should keep doing it. She looks fantastic. Incredibly charming and intelligent lady. So glad she is back and the end credit seemed to opened up possibility for a return. Hope that is the case. The Lady Thor character is filled with possibilities.
Did you even watch the movie? What end credit scene gave you any inclination that the Mighty Thor would return? She was literally welcomed into Valhalla.. the afterlife for Gods.

Its a crying shame she wasn't a much larger part of the Avengers. Natalie will always be one of my favorite actors.
Give it time. The Avengers will probably reassemble in the next 10 years or so. Maybe she’ll become a member then.

We’re fine without female directors being called “directresses” or female body builders being called “body buildresses.” So anyone about to say “it’s better to be able to tell actors and actresses apart when talking about them” hasn’t thought very far beyond the sexist labels that have existed in society before any of us were born.
She left because Marvel isn't giving her character Jane Foster anything to do but a love angle to Thor until now.
And it doesn't matter if her movies tanked. She's still getting paid millions each movie and she's still getting award nominations. Lol! She wasn't even paid that much when she returned as Mighty Thor and the movie is getting mixed reviews. Her talent and beauty though remains relevant.

The interviewer is VERY good. She really knew how to take those silly questions and making them personal to Natalie. Great job.

Feeling super old, watching Natalie Portman talking about how her kids react to her in the role, and realizing that she's just two years younger than me, sort of puts the whole "age" thing into perspective. She doesn't look her age. But then neither does Chris Hemsworth.

I was really surprise to see Natalie Portman to become a mighty thor, love her so much.
Natalie Portman has always had an aura around her in my eyes. Her smile is something else. Much respect.
This is so fun. She’s needed her entry into a super action heavy role. I bet this was likely one of her favorite projects. Such a different role for her, looks like a blast
She said it was a combination of working hard and movie magic. She admits that movie magic made it more defined, but her arms are definitely bigger in the movie than they ever were before it and she was definitely stronger than she ever was.
The movie making her taller because she's 5'3" woman. That's the movie magic she's talking about.

Both of Natalie's kids are in the movie. No interviewer ever asks about that so I wonder if it's considered spoiler material. All three of Chris Hemsworth's kids and his wife (and his older brother Luke of course) are in the movie. Both of Taika's kids and both of Bale's kids are in the movie too.

i was staring at the beautiful shirt design most of the interview
That is not her normal speaking voice. She has trained herself to speak like that. I think this is the case for Olsen as well . That’s why they sound similar when speaking . Natalie has always spoke. About how high her voice is . And that it affected how people spoke to her and treated her.
I bet it's all the cigs she and Olsen smoke.
I´m fascinated by his sense of humor, his humility and above all his talent!

@@arturius9715 Most definitely they used CGI to enhance her arms, but really they had to. Imagine being a small woman playing Thor and working next to Hemsworth who is built like a bodybuilder. No amount of bulking up and weight lifting is going to work with her extremely small frame. She did get in great shape and if you see her during filming, which was a year ago, you will notice she was much more muscular than she is now in this interview. She obviously has stopped all the eating and lifting and her body shrank back to it's normal size. The exact same thing happened to Chris Evans. He even admitted that he shrinks during the movie First Avenger.

Interestingly the interviewer asks her about getting in shape for the movie while being in much better shape herself, despite being taller she has much more toned muscles.
In real life, she would be much closer to being Thor, but that's movie magic to you.

I like this interview. I love the fact that the interviewer was a woman and that she asked great questions, and in turns, Natalie got a chance to give great feedbacks, and in general, she just seemed excited for this.

This is just a superficial puff piece…. She’s mostly a computer cartoon anyways….
The movie was filmed last year. Any bulking she did is long gone. She did put on muscle mass but if you watch the behind the scenes clip, you can see tracking dots on her arms. So her arms are definitely cgi enhanced but she also bulked for the role.

Its crazy how hard she had to work for the editers to use cgi to make her look that she worked hard and earned the role.
Immitating the thunder god anu as rasel crow was a good laugh. Its quiet amazing to understand that this period of human evolution in heaven (asgard), was one the most interesting historical begining for humanity. I know that these gods wanted to destroy their creation as well as humo sapiens through out the flood. As a deity i wanted to understand why?? The nephilim played their part in this....and so does humanity. The arc story depicts the rehabilitation of planet earth, but the meaning behined it was obsecure regarding humanity's new start as a species. We closed the chimera project and considered it as a nacromancry against nature. We gave humanity basic tools for survival, and didnt know their genetic resolve would outgrow their limitations. It shows potential to develop a spiritual civilization in the future without economic models based on classes and resources. Non the less i ask myself, how can it be that a god was born from such a regular humo sapiens?? A recessive genetic code of a dragon lizard its .....impossible.

Some people are so whiny without understanding the context. She trained and worked hard to achieve the body she needed to get into character. She shouldn't go further than that because it ain't healthy. She puts in weight and muscles based on her height and body type.
