    #ThorLoveAndThunder #EndingExplained
Thor Love and Thunder is awesome, and there is so much to talk about after that wild ending. Seriously, this movie was like a rollercoaster of massive reveals to the future, so many new characters, so many new elements and stories for the MCU.
    And we gotta explain everything.
What happened to Jane, and what’s the deal with Valhalla. What’s next for Thor and Love.
And of course, we have to talk about Hercules, who means so many cool things for the future. Also, we need to address how this movie sets up the return of Loki and so many other Asgardians.
Ok, let’s begin with the movie’s ending, that’s all the crazy stuff that happened even before the two huge credits scenes. We will get to those a little later in this video.
The big climax of the movie takes place in the center of the universe. Just saying this outloud is insane.
Gorr the Godbutcher seeks out Eternity, a being who can grant him any wish. And Gorr’s wish is to kill all the gods.
Gorr is successful in getting to Eternity, but before we talk about what that all means, we must address these two massgive reveals. Eternity and the center of the universe are huge!
First, Eternity. This entity is one of the most important beings in the universe. Scratch that, Eternity is literally the freaking universe. He and his sister, Infinity, are the embodiment of the entire universe.
Let me emphasize that, Love and Thunder just introduced a being who represents the sum total of all things in existence.
Eternity is nigh omnipotent, he is able to control time, space, reality and even magic. Again, he is the embodiment of the universe, he’s basically a god.
So granting wishes is certainly in his wheelhouse.
Though, Eternity usually appears only when the universe is in grave danger. In the comics, he’s not really compelled to grant wishes to anyone.
But it’s a detail that was changed for the MCU. Also, at this point it’s unclear if we will see Infinity.
But the introducing Eternity is getting us one massive step closer to exploring the MCU on a whole other scale. A scope that explores the building blocks of the multiverse itself.
Speaking of, we recently got a tease to the Living Tribunal, who is basically Eternity’s boss. He embodies the highest authority in the Multiverse.
All of this is setting up huge things for the future, espacily the upcoming multiverse war.
Then there’s the center of the universe. That’s the mysterious dimension where Eternity resids. The way to get there is through the temple with all the statues of godly entities.
The center of the universe appears as
reality of infinite pool of water.
It kind of looks like soul-world, only blue. It also reminds me a bit of the tesseract reality from Interstellar.
And inside the pool world, we see Eternity.
Since it’s where Eternity is located, that means that the center of the universe is literally that, the center of the universe.
It’s a reality that allows Eternity to be perceived as a physical manifestation.
So yeah, this is just like the ending of interstellar, in the sense that your brain needs to do some serious acrobatics to comprehend this place.
The center of the universe is likely the MCU’s version of the heart of the universe from the comics.
Though, the heart of the universe is not a place, instead an artifact that grants omnipotent powers. So the MCU took it in a very different direction.
So yeah, Love and Thunder just introduced some huge elements in the MCU.
In the end, Thor convinces Gorr to stop and not kill all the gods, and instead bring his daughter back to life.
And Thor promises to take care of the child.
So in the end, Gorr is kinda redeemed.
[clip: you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain]
Or if you do become the villain, make sure you are possessed by an evil sword, because then you can become the hero again. Or just throw a bad guy into a reactor shaft, and then you can come back as a force ghost.

    • @Croftice1
      @Croftice1 Год назад +3

@@spacebass79g98 That's not the original Loki though. TVA Loki is one of many Loki variants like the lady Loki (Sylvie), the older Loki, the child Loki, the gator Loki and many many more, that we've seen at the end of time. This one is close to the original, because he was basically "created" as a side effect of the time travel in Endgame. TVA Loki comes from the 2012 branch of the Sacred Timeline, not from the Sacret Timeline itself.
Same with 2014 Thanos, 2014 Nebula and 2014 Gamora. Original Gamora is still dead, sacrificed by Thanos on Vormir for the Soul stone. 2014 Gamora is a different person, but she's still close to the original, though she doesn't know, who Quill is, she didn't live through those events. When Nebula killed her "younger version", the original Nebula should perish, right? She killed her past self. But that's not, how things in Endgame work, she killed a 2014 Variant of herself, a version from a branched Timeline. A separate being, close enough to the original, but coming from a branched Timeline
The exact same stuff applies to 2014 Thanos. When Tony snapped Thanos out of existence, he did so to 2014 Variant, not the original Thanos, so it didn't undo anything the original Thanos did since 2014, including collecting all the stones, killing Vision, Loki and Gamora and snapping half the universe.
So in conclusion TVA Loki is not the original Loki and the original is still dead, killed by Thanos in Infinity War. If Loki comes back from Valhalla (assuming he is there), then that would be the real (original) Loki.

The serious points in this movie hit. And that is why I wanted more of them. The Guardians didn’t need to be there. Should’ve filled that time with Gorr scenes of killing Gods. Could’ve explored Jane more. This movie forced jokes that didn’t need to be there and skipped over the truly good parts of this movie. Still a really good movie but I was kind of let down. 6.5/10

Disagree. Showing Gorr killing other gods would just be unless eye candy, whereas if you think about it the Guardians are the best mirror to Thor's situation - every single one of the Guardians had lost someone they love, but they picked themselves up and continues on being goofballs and living their moments, embodying Star Lord's speech about it's better to fill shitty rather than empty. They are the only ones who can actually plant the seed to convince Thor to move on and keep growing, so when Thor quoted Star Lord's speech as inspiration to acknowledge his feelings for Jane, it has weight to it.

I really like your take here and I think it mirrors what I thought about this movie as well. I think that the movie skipped over the good parts of the movie. They really could have dove into Jane's internal struggle more and less into the silly parts. That being said, I think I'm biased because I want the Thor movies to be serious when they are meant to be lighthearted like the Guardian's movies.

I didn't mind that the Guardians were there... however the entire film was played for laughs... and most of them fell short. The result was a film that felt like it was a spoof of the series - afraid to actually show any emotional depth... Nothing was allowed to be serious - everything had to be undercut by humour meaning character arcs like Jane's cancer diagnosis and Gorr's loss of his child weren't given the attention they needed... The whole film felt unbalanced.

The reflection of Gorr's daughter coming back to life in the water looked ominous...as well as her disobedience to her adopted father... wish Gorr could have been shown as the butcher he is in the comics...seeing him create victims would have made him more convincing as a threat instead of scaring children with stories...also his learning of the need for the bifrost was thinly explained...and how does he get around to different locals wasn't clear... highlight of the movie was the kids fighting the shadow monsters...

Portman used a convenient excuse to exit the role prior to Ragnorok and i just don't think remaining in MCU movies is something she wants to focus on. They gave her the Scarlett Johaneson treatment. Love is being set up as part of the Young Avengers, w/ or w/o Kid Loki, or at least cameos and intersectional stories with them. They might even have a Kid Loki/Love adventure or Disney+ series depending on fan-demand. Perhaps they will do a What IF ... episode featuring them. What they do so well is leave open doors for future storylines, a lesson FINALLY replicated from the comics and what was so lacking in early attempts at live action offerings.
Should Jane Foster return as a Valkyrie to the main MCU, then there will callbacks to her conversations with Tessa T.'s character in this movie and comments like "Team Jane". We might also get flashbacks to Jane's time between the reassembly of Mjolnir and Thor's return to New Asgard. Gorr was Jane's first "bad guy", but she and Valkyrie had time to bond and she (Jane) had tried out"all" of the catch phrases according to Valkyrie..
Also, you need to help push the bandwagon for Valkyrie to get a prequel movie or Disney+ series because she is a total badass character. We want more of her.

Do I think the film could have and should have been longer? Hell yeah! We needed like another 30 minutes. That being said I loved it because it was just a fun movie with a lot of heart to it. I can imagine kids are really digging this movie and that's cool. I would LOVE to see Jane be brought back as Valkyrie (Mostly for the outfit) I loved the love story between Thor&Jane and I would like that to continue. I would enjoy watching Loki&Jane being in laws! Would love to see Loki again. Some old Asgardians in Valhalla. Shamelessly if we could get Ragnar, Lagertha & Bjorn to appear that would be sick!
I really like your channel and I appreciate your fair, honest, positive and researched opinion.

I hope they don't bring anyone back from the dead other than possibly Jane like they did in the comics. Let them stay dead. They can very easily bring any of them in from another universe as they've already done with Loki.

MCU movies seem to have always done two things: tell a self contained story, while world building in the back. They went hand in hand and were connected. Lately, it's felt like these two things are more disconnected. Like Eternity in the plot of THOR 4 is just a genie, and otherwise merely an easter egg. doesn't really feel like world building.

    • @lightdarksoul2097
      @lightdarksoul2097 Год назад +5

I can see that but to me it seems to be a different kind of worldbuilding if you look at it a different way. The only way to get to Eternity is using the bifrost. A lock made by the gods. The lock needing this "key" means it had to have been designed by Odin who was the only one with the bifrost. The way the look of the door, only Thor or Heimdallr would ever have been able to do this. Makes me think that the timeline is still fully written out, everything is still a circle in the grand scheme of things like we saw in Loki.
