- Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super Super Hero - but if you're a Gohan or Piccolo fan, you'll like it!
Gohan and Piccolo are now relevant again with their new powers - Gohan Beast and Orange Piccolo. When it comes to surprises, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero does not leave us wanting. You see, it has given us not just one, but two new forms for characters that hadn't really gotten any new transformations since the days of Z. Hav and I have been saying since the movie came out, Super Hero's own brief has been to address the typical maladies that befall the franchise...and make them right. The Earthlings not doing anything, the Saiyans dominating the story and doing everything, Gohan not getting the recognition he deserves. Everything has been tackled which resulted in Gohan and Piccolo being given new and seemingly divine powers that have brought them closer to the yardstick set by Goku and Vegeta. In fact, what made this even better, is that Gohan admitted that had they not gotten these new forms, and the Saiyans WERE present for their fight with Cell Max...they STILL might have lost. Wow. I'd love to see yamcha get some love. What if his potential got unleashed like Gohan did.
I think they should make the new anime focused on Gohan and piccolo and the manga focused on Goku and Vegeta, I feel like this way they fully use the manga and anime and we would get double the content

Gohan's hair resembling Goku's black Fusion form maybe Chi-Chi's mother was a daughter of a demigod which for Chichi her talents were never explored which rises in Gohan and being a Saiyan I'll let your imagination go there
Tien needs something that makes up for the neglect he's gotten. At the very least they should bring back his ability to mimic techniques, the reason why he didn't use it was to improve by himself like a true warrior. Plus he would definitely be able for Kioken since Goku barely needs it anymore and there's no reason for him to not use it and should of been said that in the journey to reawaken Krillin's fighting spirit he went to Tein who has never gave up fighting and thats how he had the idea to enhance the Solar Flare into the 100× Solar Flare.
How cool would it be to see Tien use the Mafuba and the Kamehameha to show he is a true member of the turtle school or use techniques like healing, the Spirit Ball and forcefields and use them to their full extent from years of continuous training of both the body and the mind like what Vegeta was trying to do in Super Hero from seeing Jiren.
Or they could explore his actual heritage, in the ToP Tien was the only one to sense the 2 "missing" universe 2 members proving he is the most spiritual out of the group, even more then Piccolo, so why not explore that or at least bring it up.
Also he could be the first only one in the Dragon Team to combine his techniques into a single attack, like the Multiform + the Four Witches technique, the Four Witches techniques and the pressure point strike, the Kikohoe and the Solar Flare. As well as have each copy of himself use separate technologies like one uses the Solar Flare while the other is right there to immediately deliver Pressure Point Strikes.
There's so much to work with and honestly I'd just be happy with a single episode with just Tein as the main focus when the anime returns.
I don't understand why it's so hard to give spotlight to side characters now. Like, it doesn't even have to mean pushing Goku and Vegeta aside. Just introduce some minor opponents (but with memorable designs, not putties) and give side characters some awesome fight with them while leaving main antagonist for Goku and Vegeta.
They had the chance with Moro but let Goku come in and end all those fights before his own. It woulda been one thing if the other prisoners where getting roided like the last guy at the end so they suddenly leaped above because then the side cast would have a W from beating them before and still give Goku a hero moment
That’s why I like Tree of Might and wished other DB movies and DB anime arcs were like it. Have interesting looking minions for the rest of the cast to fight while Goku or whoever handles the boss.

It certainly is a glaring flaw in the current iteration of the series. Granted, Main Character Syndrome is a reflection of the time that DB came out, since that was pretty much the norm in those days in action shows, even ensemble ones. But that doesn't fly so well these days when audiences want more complex narratives, especially for characters that have been around in some form for decades now. Plus, it's not as though modern iterations of old properties haven't found ways to develop its supporting cast in good ways while still keeping true to the main heroes that are the big draw of the show.
But I think such a thing will require a shake up of the current Dragon Room. There's too many old-school, narratively conservative voices there keeping things as close to the old storytelling model as possible, putting everyone in a bit of a rut in terms of what can be done currently.
That said, given how poorly Superhero seems to be doing right now, maybe they have a point and those of us wanting a more rounded show are in the minority and they should stay the course, however boring as it may be...
I think what it would take is a longer term gamble, focusing on side characters with the understanding that ratings would take a hit for a time as they develop and build their own investment in the Fandom. But that's something few established franchises are willing to do without massive outside motivation. I hate to sound morbid, but I think that big shakeup is going to be when Nozawa retires or passes, forcing them to bring Goku's time as the main character to an end (I really can't see them replacing the voice and having fans accept that).
@@KentuckyKaiju when DBZ ended the most popular manga/anime was Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. All of which had big casts who all got their time to shine with their own fights and development. It’s just crazy that Dragon Ball would Re enter the manga/anime scene just to become the Goku and Vegeta show. You could say Naruto lost some of its popularity when it became the Naruto and Sasuke show, and Super unfortunately followed suit.
I like the idea of Namekians and core people having a connection of sorts since, as you said, Namekians have attained the lowest rung on the celestial beurucracy ladder. That's still rather impressive.
It may be namekians were intentionally created to be as such so there can be *SOME* intrusion, but if a namekian gets deeply invovled. Well, technically they're still Mortal, so none of the rules are being broken as such.
Zalama who is a namekian is hinted to be stronger than Zeno.
I wouldn’t be surprised if namekians are some otherworldly species not in that dimension.
So your saying Namekians are almost demi gods, or a lower order of angels? I can see that. Their ability to create the dragon balls could to many universe breaking potentialities

I'm just tired of everything revolving around Goku and Vegeta. I'm tired of Goku hogging most of the techniques and transformations and hijacking the spotlight, not to mention the way his idiocy was dialed up to eleven in Super.

I personally love the transformations they gave gohan and piccolo and there are my favorite characters in dragon ball and I love that they gave gohan there movie
It confirms something we've always known. Any character can catch up if the writer wants them to.
Yeah, but they both could have take some time on screen to improve. Im afraid thats the moment they peak in this series. While blanco is a nice addition both the way its revieled and its power scaling is biggest asspul in dbs to me.

I like the idea of Potential Unleashed being universal and how it affects different species such as Earthlings, Saiyans and Namekians. I would like to see Full Blooded Earthlings gain the Potential Unleashed form to see what transformations they would gain. I can see Earthlings who gain the Potential Unleashed form going the martial artist or technology route. If anyone else deserves the Potential Unleashed form its Krillin he is the strongest Earthling and he always has everyone's back to help.
Considering Gero's android designs can rival god-ki users, humanity will have to focus on tech to reach higher levels. We already have 17 and 18, and they're pretty much blue level. And they can absorb energy I think.
Tien is stronger. Toriyama just hates Tien.
I know I'm late to the conversation, but what if we've potentially already seen Potential Unleashed in a human? What if Master Roshi's MAX Power form is an example of a customized P. U. form. How he was able to attain the form has never been explained AND he's the only known user of it.

You know that witch girl, Yurin, who they introduced before the ToP? Have her tattoo her talisman markings onto Tien to give him a power up. That way we’ll get back badass shirtless Tien but with cool tattoos and an awesome purple aura.

First, the name is not Orange Piccolo. It is Gigachad* Piccolo. Second, wish they just made spinoff series for the other characters. DB is big enough to pull it off.
I don't think the old farts in Japan realize that. I really wish they would move past their old ways and let Dragonball shine the way it deserves.
I bet fans would literally flock to a mini spin off series about Yamcha for an example. Or Tien and Chiaotzu. But, Goku and Vegeta are certified cash cows, so no way.
It would be cool if we get a dragon ball superhero series with Gohan, Gamma 1 and piccolo going around saving earth and nearby planets. More ground level events while Goku, Vegeta and broly deal with the cosmic threats in dragon ball super. There would then be movies that are crossover events where the cast of both series interact with each other and Gohan and piccolo get to go all out. As well as new forms are revealed.
I figured as much, when I saw the movie it sounded like piccolo was just joking when he himself said the name.
Either there is such thing as Divine Witches or that old biddy knew exactly what she was doing when she put on Elder Kai's potara to become permanently Core Personed through fusion. She wasn't greedily dumb, she was actively avoiding deportation from Super Heaven.
It would be cool for Krillin to go back to his monk roots and maybe there's a power there he could find. Like finish his training from there since he ran away.
Tien is the only human Z Fighter that's ever been worthy of a transformation, and he's long overdue for it. He's the only human team member that has never neglected his training. Yamcha quit a long time ago and Krillin is just a much weaker Gohan in that he'll take every opportunity to NOT train until he gets pressured into it by 18, Goku, or Beerus.
Imagine Tenshinhan getting a Hindu inspired form, call it the Asura State or something. It could make better use of his third eye or that multi-arm technique he seems to have abandoned post Dragon Ball.
@@countcr33per 💯 Also, if Ultra Instinct wasn't Goku exclusive then Tien would be perfect for it. He constantly meditates, trains his body, and remains even keel in battle.
@@kaioken301 I certainly agree with that. Before Orange Piccolo I would have said he would be the most ideal candidate for the power, with Tenshinhan as the close second. Hell, he could still get it honestly, but it would overshadow his new form.
I'm hoping they continue the trend of Namekian lore, even just buts and pieces here and there, ultimately building up to Zalama. I mean, Super Shenron and the Super Dragon Balls are still active, which means Zalama is still alive somewhere, so I imagine that the next stages for Piccolo would likely follow in whatever footsteps Zalama left behind.
@@countcr33per We're 100% on the same page. Everything you said is on point, in my book. Only reason I didn't mention Piccolo is because of the new form he has. UI would instantly overshadow it.
@@kaioken301 if I had any choice in where Piccolo went from here it would be to utilize his Namekian physiology more. He rarely ever uses his ability to extend his limbs and he could devise a unique fighting style around that. Ability wise though, Namekians have one of the craziest healing factors in DB. Make use of that some more! Or his native telepathy. How many times could Piccolo messed with someone's head if he chose to use his telepathic abilities to do more than just communicate long distance.
I mean, seriously, telepathy is only ever used in DB to communicate, when it could do so much more. Hell, we have seen Goku use tactile telepathy to read his friends minds on occasion, and Chiaotzu was using his psychic powers to stun Krillin when they fought during the 22nd WMAT, though that may have been Telekinesis not telepathy...
Either way, a lot of the Z Fighters have techniques that have been just straight up ignored, forgotten, or just straight not expanded upon over the years that could have been game changers.
Imagine if Piccolo had remembered his Stretch Armstrong powers and saved Gohan from Nappa like that instead if jumping in front of the attack?

Honestly I’m very curious about Orange Piccolo, the connection to the namekian trees, shenron and the dragon balls is very interesting
I kinda wish shenron giving him the form was more dramatic, rather than shenron being a bit cheeky for his old pal
I often wonder why the Namekian fusion was forbidden, but I have a thought about it. Namekians were known as warriors more in the past, and perhaps the path to a more peaceful and sedentary lifestyle was part of the reason, as well as the fact there are so few Namekians around these days. But I also wonder if the fusion is needed to be able to access certain techniques and forms on the way to a potential path to God Ki. Piccolo has fused twice now, although it could be argued that Kami was more of a rejoining than a true fusion like Nail. It does lend itself to a fair bit of discussion about why Namekians are the way they are and perhaps what necessitated such a societal shift
Dragon Ball should take a page from Yu Yu Hakusho in terms of side characters. Kurama, Hiei, and Kuwabara were never as strong as Yusuke but thise 3 still have moments to shine throughout the series. Ex: Hiei wrecking Bui, Kurama putting elder Toguro in an eternal hell with the sinning tree, abd Kuwabara getting his dimensional sword
Would be neat if he ever got any other form they kept the beast theaming . Like calling it savage gohan having it be more animalistic and well savage leaning into the sadistic like rage filled attitude gohan has always had when he lost his temper , like a animal (eg a cat) playing with the animal that is going to be its food.

I wouldn't state that Kami was a lowest god by his race. We kinda seen former gods of Earth and you can assume they might be diffrent races, who just proved to be worthy. Also Kami, while was searching replacement of himself didn't had Dende on his mind. There is also a theory that every single planet might have this kind of guardian of it like Kami is for Earth.
Namekians and Kai being linked in some way isn’t a stretch when we look at how the both have a natural affinity for magic. As well as their origin point being Zalama with him making the super dragon balls and that all namekians use that as a base for their sets of dragon balls
Toyotaro should do at least 2 stories: One with Goku and Vegeta and one with Gohan and Piccolo. Have them going around the universe doing different stuff , spice it up for once this story is getting old and tired. BUT!!! Most importantly bring Broly in more in the main story. They have not done anything at all with beside the movie recently, its like there hiding him away for only one big event.
Just the fact that he was in the film at all, however small a role, seems to make it clear that Broly isn't forgotten and that plans are already in the works involving just that. Will certainly be interesting to see.
You know, talking about the various Paths to Power (TM), it seems quite clear that it's not just a trinity. Piccolo obviously is taking the Path of the Dragon. After all, Zalama has never been said to be a related deity to the Kai's, Angel's, or GoDs, but rather, its own thing. So it's not as tenuous a stretch as one might think. I think it's entirely appropriate to mention it here unapologetically.
Dispensing with the idea of just three paths also opens a lot of options available for other characters, the most obvious of which being Demon forms, which would be a natural fit for Freeza eventually if he ever decides to take his power to the next level. And who knows? There may even be a 'true' Ultimate path involving Zeno though don't ask me how that would work with his childlike impetuous nature (A path for Pan?)
Regarding humans, perhaps they're a special case, given that (besides Roshi's buff form), no transformation has ever been so much as implied for them. But they've managed to greatly increase their power through technology. CC and RR both have built contraptions like no other in U7 to grant their own kinds of buffs and power ups (the gravity chamber, Android upgrades, hell, even Cell Max and Bio Broly after a fashion). Plus, Universe 3 proved that it's possible to play with the power players even without ki based power using their robot shtick. Perhaps the humans' path doesn't involve deities at all, but rather, mortal ingenuity itself. Given the amount of power they've managed to bootstrap themselves over the years, there's no reason they couldn't develop enough to eventually challenge the gods themselves over time. Sure, it's a bit mundane, but also kind of awesome.
I can imagine yamcha going down a stronger path of a wolf fighting style that makes him fight in a feral sort of manner. And Tien can do more illusions and magic like attacks. Think about it, clones, limb duplication, the 3rd eye that barely has any use. These 2 have so much potential
Humans should gain the ability to use genki much greater than goku when he makes his spirit bomb. They can use it to increase their base stats and ki output. Genki is like sage mode from naruto. It is absorbing the energy of ones environment to wield and use in battle. Goku uses it to make a spirit bomb and future trunks uses it to make a spirit sword. Would be nice if humans did it do give themselves a buff. Yamcha can obtain kaioken and gain the ability to absorb genki to increase his wolf fang fist fighting style and create ki constructs such as claws on his fingers and a wolf avatar that also attacks. His ki constructs are predicated on enhancing his close quarters combat. Lastly yamcha can gain a type of super instinct replicating a humans animalistic version of UI in battle. So his body would also specialize on moving on its own.
Tien can gain kaioken and also the ability to absorb genki to create living constructs. He can create clones from genki so that he doesnt have to split his actual ki weakening him. He can also utilize the 4 arm technique more. Lastly his third gets a buff and gives him precognition in battle
Krillin can gain kaioken, and also the ability to use genki to increase his base stats. He will specialize in creating long range defensive and offensive ki constructs. Like turtle shields to help protect himself and others while in battle. Increased range and power with destructo disk. He will also gain some form of super awareness giving him the ability of anticipation in battle.
Lastly we focus on goten and trunks and future trunks. They have potential but are not freaks like broly or gohan. However since they are also hybrids of humans they can also rely on the ability to absorb genki and use it in ways goku will never use it. We see an example of this with future trunks when he makes his spirit bomb sword. We also see this in his rage form. So goten trunks and future trunks can also gain great control over this ability since they are also part human. They can use this power to augment their forms and power and use alot of incredible abilities with it.

You ask me, that scenario has a lot of “potential.” ;-)
The Ressurection of F (movie) and ToP (anime) did a good job in highlighting minor characters. Even Bojack Unbound, Broly Second Coming, Bio-Broly, Bardock the Father of Goku, and the History of Trunks did a descent job -- and those were straight to video with only 48 to 82 minutes long. So how is it so hard for them to do that now?
You don't have to come up with a new name, Masako; Gohan's newest form is actually called "Gohan Blanco", and it was a form my people predicted back when the tournament of power hadn't reached its conclusion.
Edit: I'm totally kidding, btw. The name sounds ridiculous, but it was a good meme in both the Spanish and English speaking communities. Crazy it's sort of canon after the movie. All we need now is for Jiren to actually have a brother.
Since Kami was able to make the Dragon Balls by subconsciously remembering Namek, then Guru making his own Dragon Balls could imply that he knew about the Super Dragon Balls; and his own Potential Unleashed ability could imply that he met the Supreme Kai.
Seeing these new transformations for Gohan and Piccolo makes me hopeful that if we ever get a 2nd Tournament of Power, they will really show up and show out!
My dream line-up is Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Piccolo, Gohan, Future Trunks, and Granolah
(I imagine 16 & 17 would sit this one out, if the stakes have changed from Erasure to something less lethal)
if Krillin were to have a transformation, perhaps he would get a big muscle form like Roshi
Pull a Freiza and simply grow a few centimeters.

Krillin attaining the classic kame-style moves would be a dream come true
Future Shin from the manga didn’t unlock any potential within Future Trunks.
That ritual dance he did was purely for turning him into a Kai apprentice. Even the hours needed for the dance is different between the two.

Well, I can't exactly be spoiled if I don't remember there was even something to be spoiled to begin with, can I?
I'm starting to believe the anime is going to take a slightly different course then the manga when/if it does come out, now with Gohan and Piccolo being incredibly stronger than what they were before. They aren't/shouldn't have these forms be one and done and just have them reappear in Dragon Ball Heroes.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but from the available clips it doesn't seem like Gohan Beast's hair looks so ridiculously long in the movie as it does in Toriyama's key art. It actually looks pretty nice overall.
I wouldn't be surprised if the design is slightly revised in the movie, and it could get adjusted even further still if it shows up in the anime or manga.
Even in Dragon Ball Heroes his hair looks a bit more reined-in!

Fun fact, most people who play Dragonball Xenoverse 2 (myself included) use a "Fused Zamasu's wig" on custom characters made to be Beast Gohan.

Now that I think about it... I remember you mentioning the possibility that the supreme kais represent the super ego, their ideal self. Beast resembling SSJ2 Gohan may be that he felt that he was at his strongest at that point in time, and as such Beast mode took that form.
Piccolo jr. might not knew he was Zalama replacement. He didnt know he was there to guard Super Dragon Ball.
I wonder, is Cell MAX the final nail in our perfect boy's coffin? Or the possibility of him apparearing, with dialogue and personality, in DB Super still pausible?

It depends.. Cell Max does have Piccolo's DNA, so he could regenerate... If he wasn't so braindead that is. But it's likely that Cell Max's core was also in his skull.
As the movie likes to play off nostalgia tropes I wouldn't be surprised if Cell Max's tail was a type of egg... Blasting it far, far away after the explosion.

Honestly this is the only thing DBS related I'm kinda excited to watch just because finally they're giving other beloved characters the spotlight.
Even if the writing in the movie is a lil wonky, I'm still excited. I won't watch this video for now to avoid anymore spoilers.

I hope the beast form and Kai power up connection does get confirmed in the serried area some point. It being an extension of that power up, and involving divine ki is pretty much the only way it can make sense. If they don’t then oh well, at least there’s opportunities for Gohan to participate in the future, but I do think the idea of him traveling down a 3rd (Kai) based path to power to complement Goku and vegeta is a cool idea.
It does already if u remember when gohan thought the old kai wasn’t actually doing anything
krillin needs to take the roshi route becoming an absolute tank just a unmovable rock then drops the shell and midget captain america

Honestly, Krillin's family as a whole I want to see the potential unleashed for. I want to know if Maron has any cybernetics in her cause that just seems interesting to me. Also, why make an Android who can give birth and not do some weird crap with it?

Piccolo separates into Kami and king piccolo. King piccolo, which is half piccolo I guess reincarnates(?) Into smol half piccolo. Half Piccolo fuses with nail, becoming half piccolo plus. Half piccolo plus fuses with Kami, becoming piccolo plus. Which means, he built up strength over 3 lives in the space of 1. By having split in half, with each of those halves becoming stronger separately, along with having the strongest namekian warrior fuse with them as well, i think this is the reason why he is the first namekian with this transformation, especially if nail had his potential unlocked, which I'm not sure if he did or not
The orange colour on Piccolo's new form makes sense now.
Krillin and Tien need more love imo, but that's about all. I'm pretty happy with how things have been going in the show and movies. I like where we're going with Gohan and Piccolo, we're obviously going to (hopefully) see something decent out of Goten and Trunks with their updated designs, and I like our new Broly even more than the old one. Honestly it looks like we have a pretty fleshed out team to carry the story forward when Goku and Vegeta are spending months or years at a time out of contact out at Beerus' place.

Non-Saiyan who most deserves a power-up: Launch, the Tien dojo students, and especially the Shapeshifting School.
Saiyan characters who most deserve a power-up: Goten and Trunks. I did some research and found out they open a school combining ki and swordsmanship. So my fanfic where Goten takes up the art of Nyoibo-shaping? Not so outlandish after all.

I like beast it sticks with the ss3 logic of extreme ki and power levels cuases your hair to grow. also reminiscent of ssj5 even if it's not cannon. tbh I miss ssj4 and the fan art of ssj5 was great they need to bring that back in some kinda compacity even if it's not as extreme of a ape man form.

Tien needs a power up. He's the Rock Lee of dragonball. Works just as hard as Goku and never stops training but gets pushed to the sidelines because he's not a Saiyan.
Just when I thought I've seen everything in the world (believe me, I've seen CRAZY stuff), I find a British guy very well-versed in Dragon Ball subjects.
This is a beautiful world and it amazes me everyday.
Hot take: I'm not really feeling super saiyan beast, at least in terms of it's appearance, don't get me wrong I'm ecstatic, and think it's about time Gohan & Piccolo get a power up, but personally Gohans new form looks hella fanficy. Mostly the size increases of his hair and downed bang 🤦🏿♂️. My immediate thought after seeing it was the parody from : Code Name Kids Next Door, where " numba 4ku" powers up and all that resulted was his hair getting absurdly bigger.

I always thought of frezia gold form symbolizing royalty since he is an emperor and ruler and 2 colours he has are purple represents strength, transformation, power, and royalty and gold resents grandeur, prosperity and wealth ties in to his character
Just wondering, but: Would a fusion between a mortal (that does not house the soul of a Kai) and a Supreme Kai be truly permanent as a fusion between 2 Supreme Kais? =/c
What if that witch was actually also a Kai, in disguise? A vain one that did not want to release their status as a Kai and give it up to a new one, but fused with pre-fusion elder kai? =/c
Also: I wonder who the Guardian of Earth was before teh Nameless Namekian came along. =/c It seems to have been an alien seeing all the potential candidates we know off. =/c
Also: If indeed the "Potential Unlocked"& "Potential Unleashed" powers are divine in nature, why do they not use divine ki instead of normal ki? Or might the Divine part of the ki be hidden until someone who has teh "Potential Unleashed" power is in their greatest of need for more power? =/c

Here is how I would prefer.
Android 18: Android 17 comes by to talk to Bulma. After the tournament of power and saving all universes, 17 thinks he should downgrade himself a bit to better focus on his family and job. (Also, I want his wife to be revealed as Launch. But that is my fan fiction). Looking over 17, she finds a part in him that is a self upgrading computer chip. And it turns out to have an equal and opposite chip in 18. These were the 2 keep components that keep upgrading the androids over time and were so desirable to Cell ages ago. 18 finds out about 17 taking the surgury and berates her brother from wanting less responcibility when there is a universe to protect. 17 says "Put my chip into 18. They were meant to be a complete unit anyway. Otherwise we were both working at half potential anyway".
Noble gift from brother to sister, 17 gets nerfed to a Yamcha type power level while 18 basically gets a second gear. Extra points if this complete chip, when activated, makes her skin turn white with purple under the eyes like Cell. "Perfect 18"?
The proper split between the siblings plays out and 18 gets to be a front line fighter again.

I think you are right, that the secret to DBS human's ascension lies within Gohans potential.
I would like to see Tien, Chaozu and Yamcha back in the spotlight as well. I think if Dr. Hedo becomes canon, that Bulma and Hedo can work together to make special fighting armor and suits for the zwarriors. On top of that the zwarriors could work on training their Ki manipulation, and also utilizing more magic spells like master Roshi's jar.
